  1. In the past he has been a reliable solid player but not a game changer, i think that will change this year, and it will catch some teams off guard. I remember reading before he was drafted that he lead his side in the TAC cup as the most dominant player on the field. Itching to see some of that in the AFL because he definitely has the confidence and will be much more used to the tempo and speed by now.
  2. Lawyers look everywhere, and use whatever they can get there hands on. It would be ignorant to think otherwise. There has been some 'Liam rang one of my mates' type of posts. Anyway im not going to talk about this anymore.
  3. Yes, however i don't think it would right to slot him into the firsts as soon as he is fit like nothing has happened.
  4. Don't forget to consider the other players however. A player like Ricky Petterd who has worked hard all pre-season and behaved himself missing out on playing for the firsts as his spot is taken by Liam would not be fair i think.
  5. should be careful about what gets written here. prosecutor lawyers are probably all over this thread already. on a side note what are peoples impressions on how the club would handle this? do you think they will throw him into the team as soon as he is fit? or do you think he may be put back to casey until it is sorted? thoughts?
  6. If this thing drags out over months, would the MFC allow him to play? or would court allow him to play? Does anyone know how this type of situation works if he has to wait for a court hearing if there are any restrictions on him? I would like it if the court gives him leniency providing he attends all training sessions and games.
  7. The latter i think usually just results in a fine. Unlawfully causing serious harm though may be a problem unless he is able to prove it was in self defence.
  8. Hanging to see this kid captain his first game on the weekend. I think he'll give the Hawks a run for there money.
  9. if and when liam gets back to the field, i hope opposition players don't bring up issues like this to throw him off his game. It's sensitive, though i don't think there are any rules to stop it.
  10. Who is saying that the club cant support him while he is not on the list? I am quite sure that the club still keeps in contact with Wona and would support him if he needed anything.
  11. obviously you didn't see the word 'hypothetical' in brackets there. in some situations your saying don't jump to conclusions when your doing that exact thing right there. Jumping to a conclusion that i want to talk about PR when it was simply used as a hypothetical. Seriously, grow up.
  12. Its easy to always take the high and mighty approach and say support support support but at the end of the day, the hard decisions need to be made to be successful. How would potential sponsors for FOJ feel about this for example if they found out the club were supporting a criminal (god forbid he is found guilty, this is just a hypothetical)
  13. All these people were having a go at me the other day for suggesting he shouldn't have been given paid leave. Wonder how all these people feel now that there membership money has indirectly paid someone who may have caused a crime. In my eyes your either a professional sportsman or not, and while alot of people here are trying to sympathize with Liam, end of the day he is the one being charged, not the poor guy in hospital. To be a successful football club, the team needs there players to stay in line, not go flying halfway across the country and getting arrested right at the start of the season. And if due to personal reasons they can't stay in line, then i don't think they should be on the list. A line needs to be drawn somewhere so it will be interesting to see how the club handles this.
  14. does anyone know what the story of cook is at the moment. He hasn't played any NAB games, nor is listed for this week. Also I don't remember seeing his name in the injury list. Surely he should get a run if he is fit?
  15. im suprised his still standing after the amount of damage he took last year. thank god it wasn't one of the stick or ceramic players who took the bumps tappa took.
  16. yep, didnt u see the moderators post when he closed it? something about unwarranted allegations wasnt it? false allegations is something that filth supporters do, not demons. people have discussed the question anyway so there isnt much more to say.
  17. i hope jetta cements a spot in the best 22
  18. Someone else mentioned it first, i was just asking a question. Settle down fella! and yes it is the same question as i asked on the other thread, just people decided to call me racist (absolutely no idea why coz i was saying the complete opposite) and the thread got closed bfore it could be discussed.
  19. Wonder if players get the choice to not take the break? or is it forced leave? Im not sure that fringe rookies would want a break in there final year (Evans).
  20. Does anyone know what MFCs player retention policy is?
  21. At risk of upsetting people again, i want to say that giving players breaks when injured seems to be a common theme down at MFC, does anyone know if other teams do it? Could this be a reason for the 1 - 2 weeks turning into 2 - 4 weeks as it takes them longer then expected to get back into it?
  22. Biggest question here is, should same rules apply to everyone or not? Personally i think they should. I am sure some people would have arms in the air if Cale Morton came out and said he was taking indefinite paid personal leave.
  23. Most people do think that, sadly most successful companies and organizations dont.
  24. someone made a wholesome post, unlike yourself.
