I think it would be great if we drafted that Chinese kid who attended the combine. Has a good build for an outside mid and would come as a freebie. Wouldn't even take up a spot on our senior list as he would go onto our international list. Also could help raise interest in the club from some Chinese living in Melbourne.

Anyone have any goss on whose on the Dees radar at the moment besides Pederson and Gumby. Anyone else being looked at? Mids/small forwards?

MFC vs Cats Mark Neeld: Alright Clarke/Dawes, whoever has Rivers on them make sure you go to the goal square and go 1 on 1

No fluff piece from Gysberts is not a good sign... Where is the article with him quoting how his ready to take on a full pre-season and cement his position in our midfield from round 1

I don't understand. I really think this kid could be an awesome player but i don't understand why some players constantly have injuries while others barely have any. It would definitely be more then just luck involved so why can't sports science help determine this during recruiting phases? Could how they manoeuvre or block or patterns/trends the players have or habits which contribute to constant injuries? Lack of calcium resulting in weak bones? Surely their is more involved then luck....

Sadly if Gysberts survives the list cutting I think he will be at least 2 years away from being able to make an impact. His body just is not right for AFL right now, both his fitness and size is not up to scratch, and from reports his attitude is not either.

Anyone know if any of our current mids wont be starting straight out for a full pre season with injury? Or are they all good to go on the 29th October (Including Viney)
-
I think many people under rate Evans. I believe if he gets his body right he could become a A class AFL Midfielder. I have watched many of the games and he is such a hard player to actually fault. He is much better then many of our current first 22 mids when he is fit and he isn't scared to go forward and kick a goal. The kid has much more class in his game then most of our other mids.

I remember in a game last year Martin was to exhausted to compete and wanted to come off the field and Neeld wouldn't let him. Professionalism at its finest. Jones had to run into Martin at the contest coz he was just standing their during a ball up slouched over with his hands on his knees not even watching. -
They had the opposite to chemistry in Kerr and Cousins.

I don't consider compo picks as really compromising the draft since now with FA every draft will have compo picks making it the norm. In regards to the minidraft, they are not necessarily the first 2 picks of next years draft. They are the first 2 picks of players born between Jan - April. Their could be better players born throughout the rest of the year. If anything it is a small compromise compared to the last 3 years. -

When do senior coaches have holidays? I mean players are on holidays now while Neeld is busy during trade period and now about to go straight into pre-season training. -
Why is everyone saying Evans and Nicho to be upgraded? Is their any source for this?

Watts and Grimes OOC end of 2013, big years ahead for those 2.

Anyone know what the status of Evans and Gysberts are? Are they both good to start pre season

With the beard the opposition will get confused between him and Clark -
Bailey would have seen Barry being a talented skinny kid expected to go in late round 2 - 3 of the draft and then taken him at pick #4 instead of working out a trade for him

I'm with rp on this believe it or not. Personally I appreciate updates from Nudge and what he quoted and took offence to was a real simple joke really that put a smile on a few faces. I cannot see how such a joke could be taken such offence to. We have summer approaching so I hope Nudge can kick back with a cold beer and take it easy as he sounds quite stressed and a bit uptight at the moment, most likely from other factors outside of DL.

How often has Trengove and Tapscott been in the center square together on a bounce, or even been played on the same side of the field

Your call really, I posted both views so see it as you will. My own opinion is really subjective to how we perform next year. To me its more about how we use the crop rather then what the crop is, I personally think that most players with a decent skill set can become A grade or even stars if they are used correctly. At the moment our first 5 picks look something like 3 (Hogan), 4 (Wines), 13 (Dawes), 26 (Viney), 45 (Barry) which isn't too bad if our midfield can perform to an adequate level next year. If they can't then we will be in trouble. -

No need, im adding you on ignore instead so I don't need to see pathetic posts such as ones like this from people who can't even find the ignore button. -
At the end of the Dawes article it says "Melbourne is expected to remain active for the duration of the trade period" WTF else do we have left to trade???
