  1. It is absolutely critical that we win at least 4 out of the first 5 winnable games and this will see a major boost in memberships. This will see a quick spike in the right direction to 40,000.
  2. Sshhhhh about the Collingwood game, I would hate for things to turn positive around here. Even though we won that game and played well its hard to take a lot out of it considering so many players were out of their respective best 22. It is always nice beating Collingwood though!! I was worried about Craig coming across too with the defensive mind he has but you know what got me excited, was a few years ago the Crows were kicking about 9 goals a game and all of a sudden he flicked the switch so to speak and then they finished the season with quite a few games with high scores 25-30 goals a game, I think it was 2006. Also felt sorry for him the way he was handled at Adelaide considering they had lost over 1300 games experience in McLeod, Goodwin, Burton, Riccuito, Edwards. Having to rebuild after that would of taken time but at least we are starting to see the value of having those senior players in the side to what it has done for the crows now. Or are they improving because of Dean Bailey?? We will be ok, Neeld is a smart man, Im sure he's got many tricks up his sleeve, it just about whether our players have the heart and skill to execute it.
  3. I heard the interview and from what we have all seen so far I would have to agree with Fletcher with our bomb it long tactic so far, relying heavily on Clark and defending from contests etc. But hes a moron if he thinks that's all of our bag of tricks right there!! He did go on to say it would be interesting to see if we continue that when teams start flooding back IIRC. Im sure Neeld is building the basics and the attack will come after that. Small steps Adrian! I just hope we improve our footskills to execute the proposed gameplan, whatever it may be. I can see a lot of low scores coming up for us for a while. It will be interesting to see how we go if Clark gets an injury or even worse Clark & Jamar at the same time. Actually it wont be interesting, it will be shizers!
  4. Im very happy with Tynan & Sellar. A bit of the unknown with Taggert - I dont know much about him, seemed to slip through the system so hopefully he pulls through. Its a bit early to judge this draft but I will watch with interest these picks after ours, not saying that we recruited the wrong guys last year, just curious and love watching young footballers grow. After Taggert I will be watching: 37. Jack Newnes - Former club:Northern Knights/Ivanhoe Junior DOB:24/02/1993 Height:184cm Weight:74kg Position:Midfielder Player assessment Represented Vic Metro at the NAB AFL U18 Championships, averaging 14 possessions. He reads the ball well and is versatile enough to play back, midfield or forward. He has a penetrating kick, is a good user inside and is a solid tackler. 39. Michael Talia - Former club:Calder Cannons/Greenvale DOB:11/02/1993 Height:192cm Weight:88kg Position:Defender Player assessment Represented Vic Metro at the NAB AFL U18 Championships, providing good run and drive from the defensive end, averaging 16.2 disposals and 5.5 marks. He is extremely good one-on-one and a very good overhead mark. He capped off the championships with All Australian honours. He tested impressively at the NAB AFL Draft Combine 40. Tom Curran - Former club:Oakleigh Chargers/Ashburton Junior DOB:18/09/1993 Height:193cm Weight:90kg Position:Forward Player assessment Represented Vic Metro in three games at the NAB AFL U18 Championships. He is a hard working key position player, son of former Hawk Peter Curran. Is very well built, a good kick, loves the hard contests and is very good overhead. After Tynan: 53. Alex Woodward - Former club:Sandringham Dragons/Noble Park Junior DOB:11/06/1993 Height:175cm Weight:80kg Position:Midfielder Player assessment Represented Vic Metro at the NAB AFL U18 championships. An inside midfielder who reads the play well around stoppages and uses the ball well by foot. He has a great work ethic and is excellent in one-on-one marking contests for his size. He wins the contested ball, is very creative with his hands and is very team oriented. After Sellar: I think we got Sellar right as not much after him. But I will watch with interest. 55. Matthew Arnot - Former club:Oakleigh Chargers/Vermont DOB:21/10/1993 Height:180cm Weight:87kg Position:Midfielder Player assessment Left-footed, powerfully built midfielder with penetrating kick. Can play across half-back.
  5. Well If a member bought a Pig, Dog or Rat a membership at the Hawks, then yes they do count from what I've been told. I think Collingwood do the same - count their pets as members. Not 100% sure but this is what I've been told. If they start counting towards ours, I will have to buy my pet Lionfish a membership!
  6. Hawks ones do according to my mate - thats why they have so many members!!
  7. Havnt you learnt by now - The AFL doesnt want honest people anywhere in the system!
  8. Spot on mate whether we like it or not this is the truth. Im very impressed with the public speaking of Jack Grimes also, showed some real courage yesterday and looks to really wants to rally the troops.
  9. Good work. Well I said we would finish 12th in the other thread so I would be very happy with Viney,9 & 11.
  10. RIP Big Jim An inspiration to us all It was like you waited until you were satisfied that you got us on the right track, now you have let go and we are on our own to replicate, as a club, in unity, that fighting spirit that you will never be forgotten for. We all love you and we will make you proud. Personally, it has woken me up to be a better person, to be nicer to everyone, theres no need to worry about the small things, a lesson that I will take as making the most out of my life as you never know when your time will be up. Love to all his family.
  11. Thanks will get onto it tomorrow.
  12. I'm in if you can get the right address. The sad story is this is just one of many things the last 1-2 years the AFL have been corrupt with. Dodgy operation it's turning into, they owe everyone alot of answers. I'd hate to know what secrets they are hiding!
  13. I'd take him on as a recruiter. Sounds like he knows this years draft pretty well and we have an opening for him.
  14. Good to hear they're activated. Now let's get them right. Thanks for the update Arsene
  15. Blunt but I cant disagree with you - thats when we will see things taking off. Good point.
  16. Nailed it.
  17. The Hawks have drafted elite and precise kicks of the footy and built their gameplan around that - very clever and gives the gameplan every chance to succeed.
  18. Players want a premiership. They wouldnt come to Melbourne for that reason!
  19. Since when has MFC been accurate with their injury predictions?? Expect 2 months plus.
  20. If any team below us bid for jack we must use that first pick, correct. It would be dream for him to slide through to the second round but sheedy will bid for him no doubt as he hates us. Here's hoping
  21. Yeah mate all good, I knew what you were saying. We are a long way off. It's going to be an interesting year.
  22. Lets learn how to kick a football first I think before we talk about switching gameplans.
  23. How do we magically get the 4th pick??
