Me too. The whole point of this thread!! If you do travel to Darwin, I will have a beer or two with you.

Well why dont you tell us all what a bunch of superstars we have and a flag is guaranteed then. If you think this current crop with dredful disposal and pea hearts will bring us success or even top 4 then you need to get off the weed.

I think you have nailed it Sir. Im 100% with you.

Fair call mate. I think BP was famous for speculative picks rather than common sense ones. But maybe Im on my own on that one? Whilst I would like to blame others, I think the recruiters have majorly stuffed up. We are relying on rookies to pull us through. -
Mmm good point. Interesting. However we are not the ones out there playing, which is now the current issue.

We love to recruit spuds -
Im back to NT today to watch the NTFL Grand Final between Nightcliff vs Tiwi Bombers. A small forward to watch out for here is - Ross Tungatalum. Was drafted by STK but delisted a few years ago. Is an absolute star up here and is a very capable small forward. At 178cm and all the skills - theres never a weekend that goes by without his name popping up over a few beers. At 21 years of age he has matured a hell of a lot and learnt from his experience at STK and when I was talking to him before he is super keen to give the AFL another shake. I rate him higher than Waylon Manson & Austin Wonaemirri. He is the best crumbing forward in the comp and won this seasons MVP. A bit overweight and only plays as a forward pocket but just thought I'd throw his name out there for those who want a small forward. Here is an article for you http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=ross%20tungatalum%202012&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCIQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.heraldsun.com.au%2Fafl%2Fmore-news%2Fnorthern-territory-star-ross-tungatalum-back-in-afl-frame%2Fstory-e6frf9jf-1226302042938&ei=-xFkT-a0D-mAmQWelMC5CA&usg=AFQjCNHF8iWjNNswaidkJx2rB2VwOTI_hA Tungatalum booted 48 goals from 15 games so far this season.

Just ignorance, lazyness and cockyness. Martin was in the AA team and was a gun. No wonder BP left and took up a coaching career because he certainly was she-ite at recruiting. -

Excellent post mate. Wow, this really opens our eyes doesnt it. BP has left us in no mans land. The only difference i have is I would have taken Vardy over Gawn - I remember wishing for it before the draft. Vardy has way more potential but has done his knee now, but at least only once, not 3 times. I dont know why we went for Gawn considering his knee reco's before the draft. BP's thinking is beyond me in alot of these cases. -

Yeah mate I was and thats why its so frustrating to get my point across to people who werent there!!! People that make up the same excuses without even watching it is beyond me. Im happy with the direction just not our recruiting or improvement with disposal. Its a worry. -

My best were Jones, Jamar, Frawley & Clark who tried considering the entry. It was obvious that we were trying a few things defensively but very obvious we are not up to it with our disposal. Neeld would know alot more than me so I cant comment on players' inability to adhere to instructions, but also there was a noticeable lack of effort, Im not sure why. Players from last 4 drafts is testing me out a bit, from memory maybe Blease, Davis, Tynan, Howe showed a little, not much and obviously Clark. There were a lot of senior players out there last night who have been around long enough. Standouts for leadership were Jamar, Frawley and Jones, Trengove looked lost but is coming back from injury. I didnt take any notice of their body language at the end sorry as we rushed off just before the siren to beat the traffic. Port Adelaide actually looked very good, will give a few teams a rattle for sure. We had a few out but they had just as many, if not more. I liked the way they played and deserve a lot of credit. Hope this helps mate, it is only brief but as Ive said on here 100 times already, Im happy with our direction and with our coaching just not our recruiting and definetley not our disposal. A lot of players out there have been around a while now and should have improved but unfortunately they havent and may never will -

I was there and I saw it. And Im disgusted. Not in the gameplan or what Neeld is doing but the lack of improvement with our disposal and efficiency. -

People also forget Geelong: 2004 - 4th - pre lim finalists 2005 - 6th - pre lim finalists 2006 - NAB cup premiers, 10th in the season proper. 2007 onwards incredible. -
Port Adelaide v Melbourne: No Demonland match report
Hells Gates replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Im all for the gameplan and think we are heading in the right direction but it will never be executed with the rubbish and poor skills that we have from our drafted players under BP. -

Yep there is no reason why we shouldnt of interviewed the top 5-10 and then take the best. Its seems ludicrous that we wouldnt interview Martin, Im actually stunned, it tells a huge story in itself. Its like getting work done to your home. You dont just go get the first builder to do it - you get a heap of quotes and take the best from there. Ive got a huge dislike to Prendagest right now. -

Are you serious? We didnt interview Martin?? Please dont tell me that!!! Too be honest I think Barry has left us hanging, which is what I was trying to say, I agree with the later picks. In the most crucial recruiting time for the club and sit back and watch as these boys display poor disposal and injuries upset me! We were given our chance to make our team superior through draft picks and I think we might of missed the boat. When you add Sylvia, McLean & Morton to that list it gets depressing! -

Final verdict mate? How many out of 100 do you score Prendagest? -
Mmmm. I suggest to watch the game if you can. If our game was based on defence as you say then why did we give away so many goals and possession to the opposition? We flooded their forward line and it still rained goals. Our disposal is woeful.

I cant comment on Barassi as I wasnt old enough to see it all unfold but its always good to hear what happened, keep those kinda stories coming.
