  1. There are thousands of Tigers fans in Tassie, bucketloads....along with Hawks & Saints fans. Not many Demons though unfortunately.
  2. That would be me. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for that. Tappy another 2 weeks away is very disappointing for me. This kid will be a star but injuries hold him back. I thought the club said he was due back this week!!
  4. Thanks for that HT. A bit of a worry that we are behind - But I guess that comes with peoples frustrations from last year. I know some people who have said to me that they are sick of putting their hands in their pockets, especially during debt demolition, to watch the club dish out performances like last year. I would get angry at them but I know how much they donated and they have been members for years. I guess they are going to wait to see results first this time around, poor attitude but I do understand their frustration. (Not that they need to worry about money). I guess people will only put up with so much until they are satisfied. A bit of a bummer we went to hell in 2011 after an encouraging 2010. Winning games = more members. I have talked to the club and I guess the good news that the club has signed up 750 members since our win against Collingwood ( a few at the family day i guess). I guess they are telling me the truth. I'm a member anyway, have been for years, and always will be. I also talked to the club about what I can do to promote memberships as I live in the NT (Darwin) and we do play games here, I work away FIFO to an underground mine but when I get a week off I will do everything I can to get new members to our club, even if its going to the local for a beer and bet and brain washing people with my incoherrent Dee's jargon. Up here the indigineous kids love Liam Jurrah so I hope he comes back soon, there is certainly potential up here for more members, they love him! The MFC were very impressed with this and I encourage anyone that has time to do something like this yourselves. If everyone makes a little effort our membership will rise but without your help (and the teams) it will be a slow process. I bet alot of you know at least one MFC fan who isnt a member? Get them on board!! I bought my best mate a membership for Xmas now he has to renew it every year! The jungle drums are beating and Dee's are coming.
  5. Only a quick reply as Ive got to fly out to work. Firstly the game the other night was wet, they had left the roof open all day and it was raining, hence it being slippery. Secondly, the NAB cup is the time when coaches try all sorts of things, not necessarily "the gameplan" and we often see players confused. The rules are a shambles - and dont fit ours or Collingwoods gameplan, players again confused. Its the first real hit out so players will be rusty from every team, makes for scrappy games. It is only practice. There were many good things to take out of the games so far but for me, just as many bad things to work on. Its still 4 weeks until round 1 and when weve played a few 4 point games thats when I will make my judgements. Anyhow that is just some of my thoughts and thats the way I look at the NAB cup.
  6. And never got any soft tissue injuries.....
  7. Actually Molly I was wrong sorry. I just watched Buckleys Press Conference and they left the roof open all day before the game and it was raining. Then closed it for the game. So yeah, it would of been slippery as. I apologise and heres the answer for you
  8. I agree. Im always a fan of never playing your best side in these matches anyhow, just to keep the opposition guessing come the 4 point games.
  9. I dont think we will make the final, not much percentage for us, but what do we do.....rest our injured players or give them game time and make a match out of it???
  10. Pretty sure he did play. No 17 now.
  11. So much has been made of Collingwoods outs but they still had Cloke, Pendlebury, Thomas, Swan, Reid, Maxwell, Ball, Shaw and many premiership players so thats a load of crap. I think Buckley panicked and took some off so he had an excuse for a loss. Im not sure what the TV or radios were saying but we had a lot of players out ourselves. On that note it was a good effort with a bunch of kids. Missing: from a possible best 22. Grimes Trengove Mitch Clark Moloney Jurrah McKenzie Morton Tapscott Strauss Jetta Fringe players missing: Gawn Spencer Williams Taggert Evans So right back at ya Collingwood.
  12. I was thinking the exact same thing today about that chap. I hope not! Jack looks tired from a full on pre season, probably had to double everyone else's workload. But I hope he doesn't turn out to be that player you mention!!!!!!!!!
  13. Classic post. Good on you Ron!! Cheers to ya!
  14. Good point re nicho. Endeavor is there but turns it over most of the time.
  15. Cheers for the reply DL. Looks like we agree on a lot. Top stuff. You made some good points also.
  16. As Ive said all along it is only the NAB cup so not that particularly interested however a good win by the boys. I watched the game on silent and didnt want any commentator influence on my judgement, will watch again tomorrow. A pretty good effort considering the plethora of players we did heave out of the side due to injury tonight, some handy players to come back. Things I noticed (without hearing it) & will be good to see if anyone agrees: Please note without sound it was hard to know who were subs!!! James Magner - Clearance machine, looks to be exactly the role model Neeld is after. Nath Jones - has lifted everything Tom Couch - Played well around the stoppages but seems to turn slowly. Bate - Got a bit of it but turned it over, tried his guts out but looks too slow for the midfield. Sylvia - Excellent game, we saw what hes capable of, Im sure neeld was licking his lips. Petterd - outstanding, people doubting his position need to think again, one of the best on for me, very courageous. Dunn - Showed glimpses that he is the Dunn of old, done a lot of hard work off ball also. Garland - My little brother got a bit of it but turned it over, recovered well in the last half... Lucky mark! Howe - Excellent before being subbed? Not sure why. James Sellar - Will definetley be a part of our team, fantastic effort, composed courageous and is the a steal at pick 54. Fitzpatrick - Actually looked very good in the ruck, didnt lose many battles, good at ground level too. Frawley - Did his job and rebounded well off half back/wing. Bail - Looked rusty but did some good things. Martin - Looked quite good up forward, still looks very raw. Green - The barometer, seemed to do his job well in pressure situations, dropped a sitter from memory. Davey - His defensive pressure in the forward line was quite impressive, seems to have picked up his old speed, probably a quiet night stat wise?? Tom McDonald - Very raw but kept battling, looked nervous. Limited gametime?? Troy Davis - 12 months ago I said he will be the next Scarlett. Still a year away. As I said it is only NAB cup so dont get too excited. We missed alot of easy goals too. Great Pressure and I can see why Neeld has said "we will be the hardest team to play against". So many players out... Grimes, Trengove, Jurrah, Moloney, Tapscott, Clark, Rivers?, McKenzie, etc etc. The Biggest disappointment for me were: Joel Macdonald - I have so many crosses next to his name (xxxxxx) does anyone agree? Big Talking point for me is Jack Watts: Very poor display, no effort, didnt jump and seemed to be playing more like a rover. Was one of the worst games I have seen from him. Anyway these are just my thoughts, feel free to add or discuss as I couldnt hear a thing!! Go Dees!
  17. Not a bad effort so far considering the amount of players have out through injury. Pressure is fantastic.
  18. Trouble is mate we have most of our 22 out with injuries, that's why I can't take it seriously. I will be closely following Troy Davis as I think he could be our next Scarlett, big call I know but I've seen a bit of him. Also Tynan, has big wraps and they breed them well in Gippy land, some have suggested him as a midfielder which is a great call when he bulks up. And of course I will be watching Watts very closely, for someone with exceptional skills needs to get more of it and deliver into the forward line, although they may play him deep tonight. Don't care if he does a hundred 1 percenters, someone with his skills should get as much of the ball as he can and rely on the bodies around him to do the hard things.
  19. That's why it will suck me in I reckon WYL. What do you think the final result will be??
  20. It's going to be hard to watch with both teams playing boundary footy with the stupid rule that has no place in the game! I think I will just stick to my guns of never watching a nab cup game. But....
  21. . I think you will find both are actually real. Just sayin.
  22. Ok mate no worries. I might take that advice on all players myself.
  23. Why not? I was only passing on what Rawlings said. I never saw the game.
  24. He also said jamie Bennell was good.... From what I read here he should never play AFL again...
  25. Sorry if this has been mentioned but wasn't Bastinac the one who stuck up for the skunk?? Best mates? Gawn....
