They split because the MCC had control of the MFC board. The MFC wanted to be seperate and run the football side of things as their own indentity. The politics of the time were ridgid and they split with a lot of ill feeling. As the game turned more professional this needed to be addressed and now the MFC enjoys the full support of the MCC with both having their own identity.

Mate not having a go at you, but we can only learn from mistakes of the past. We don't have to relive them and keep bringing up "Why didn't the board do this,Why didn't they do that" It's been done, learn from it and keep going forward. Why didn't you suggest this 4 years ago. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Just be happy that it has now occured and the club is now debt free, has spent up big on the footy dept,has new sponsers, and off the field is in a much better place.

Have been a MCC and MFC full member for 30 years. I prefer to sit in the MCC and have taken my kids since they were knee high to grasshopers Did go with a few mates to the outer and was grateful that the kids weren't with me. The drunken thugs and the foul language would put me off going to the footy. I am not a toff or a rich man and have stood in the outer at Vic Park,glenferrie oval,Windy hill. But these days I am disappointed with the general public's attitude and hostility at the footy.

I reckon we still keep him on our list. I don't think he will get gaol time as he has great opportunities to rehabilitate and not re offend and has a clean record but who knows. Still a keep for me

Court date will be at years end. The one in may will be for him to plead G/NG If NG then will be adjourned to later in the year so all witnesses can be call for both sides. LJ will play before this court case. He will have to attend in person as the charge carries a gaol term if proven. The one in May is by video link.

It is far to soon to comment on a lot of our younger players and players who have had interupted pre seasons, I can only think of 5 players who I believe should go, the rest have a year to prove that they can play the game at the highest level. This is an arguement for the end of the year.

So according to you 11 player will have to go this year. So we start 2013 with 11 new players???Come on. No club will delist 11 players.

I have seen a lot of tragedy in my life The MFC is not one. Sure we are not having a lot of good times at the moment but lets get real about where this sits in the whole meaning of life. From what I see written on this site beggers belief. If I wake up in the morning I consider it a good day. If my health remains good, I consider it a good day. If I can comunicate with my kids and enjoy time with them it's a great day. If the MFC lose ...well it's disappointing but the sun still comes up and you just get on with it until the next week....year....decade... If people want to change the MFC... well I sugest you do something about it, if not then control your vitrol on web sites

My kids grew up supporting MFC through good times and bad. Every week we would go to the footy and cheer. Win lose or draw. They are now in their late 20's and now pester me to go with them to the footy,their partners barrack for diffent teams but are slowly comming around to "our" way of thinking. It is just great to be with them at the footy still cheering the boys on. It's not wether you are winning or losing, it's just being there with them. We had a record membership last year and going close this year. It's not all doom and gloom. So stop slitting your wrists, pick up the kids and have a great day at the footy
