WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
Tyson4Brownlow replied to xman97's topic in Melbourne Demons
Revealed in Sam's diary column in the Herald Sun that he will wear #26 for the Dees -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Tyson4Brownlow replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Clayton has dominated 2015 off pure talent alone. It's his biggest strength and his biggest weakness. His best will see him be an Adam Cooney like stoppage player, but up to the MFC to push him there. The greatest test of our talked up development coaches, and for Goodwin in the future -
2015 Player Review - # 9 Jack Trengove
Tyson4Brownlow replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
At this stage, anything he can provide to our team is a bonus. The expectations are now so low. On talent alone, he is a potential B+ midfielder. On character, deserves a successful comeback more than any player I remember -
Was impressive pre season, and would be a great 3rd defender who can run off the opposition resting ruckman, or even swing forward. With no more sub rule, he is the perfect player to benefit from this and be our extra tall
-
Forget about what height he doesn't have. Look at what he DOES! We need real speed and contested ball winning ability and while he isn't elite, he is above average at both. If he joined us, he would be only behind Viney as a young mid with both these specific qualities

2015 Player Review - # 15 Billy Stretch
Tyson4Brownlow replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Billy has the goods. Leave him on a wing, he will be fine -
Will still be our best midfielder of the next decade. And that means more considering what Viney and Brayshaw showed this year. Dom's vision and hands in tight is seriously elite

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Tyson4Brownlow replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Time for posters to stop seeing the trade market as a "unless their a superstar we don't want them" opportunity. Our elite will come from the draft, like all clubs. A Melksham, like a Vince or a Lumumba, is to support, fill gaps on the list and hope for a bargain. Dangerfield, Judd like trades are once every five years, and if you ain't a successful club, forget it -
McCartin was taken at Pick 1, quite different from the discussion about the value the Saints got with pick 21 compared to the Dees at 23...

Keen to get my fellow DL members thoughts on what I believe was a wonderful result with Pick 23 in the latest trade / draft period. Trading it to GWS for Frost, Pick 40 and 53 allowed us to get three young talents from a 2nd round pick which was a master stroke. To then get ANB at 40 and Oscar at 53, both of whom were predicted 2nd round talents themselves, I don't think we could have asked for anymore from the List Mgt team. Frost, ANB and Oscar is a great package for 23 as it includes two young KPP, when Saints get only one in Goddard for 21. Paying under the odds for Stretch at 42 and having Petracca slide to us only adds to a fantastic draft, giving Roos and Goodwin plenty to work with over the next 5 years. Who else agrees??

If the Frost deal didn't happen today, then our 5th pick in the draft would have been 83 instead of 53 . An important benefit. To be fair, Frost and 40 for our 23 is a good trade by the MFC on its own. We are talking about one of the best young FB in the game. GWS main FB for the year. He finished 12th in GWS b and f and replaces Frawley who only finished 8th in ours. Plus we get pick 3 TICK

I have already suggested this in my previous post tonight. The Trengove deal is a play to upgrade him to Beams I assure you. Read my previous post, as I assure you it is reflective of Melbourne's intentions over the weekend. I understand with the amount of crap posted on here that you would suggest I'm no different, but luckily for this Demon supporter I worked at the right place at the right time today...

Please see my post in the Trengove thread as an update on this. It's too long for me to repeat. Beams is now a live target as I've explained
-
To help people make a balanced view of all this, I can reveal that the Demons are looking to trade into the Top 15 in order to offer two first round picks, in this case 3, 12, for Dayne Beams. Paul Connors has conceded that Brisbane is not an unlikely option for Dayne now, and you will notice that Collingwood are now publicly reporting they are open to other offers for Dayne. Melbourne is asking for pick 48 in return from Coll, and this is believed to be enough to get Sam Frost into the club. It's believed Collingwood will only have 4 picks at the draft this year, and with 3, Moore, 12 and 30, then 48 may not be required anyhow. However there is work to be done to convince Dayne to accept terms with another Vic club, but I'm confident in what I'm hearing that remaining @ Collingwood is now his last resort. Pick 3, 12 for Beams and 48 Or in effect Frawley, Trengove and pick 23 for Beams and Frost How does that look everyone? Win wins around I think... My credibility in all this? I can't give away my place of employment but im in regular contact with Connors Sports Management, Dayne's management group, and have been particular busy today as his future today included Melbourne entering the picture... Plenty to play out but the above will become public knowledge soon enough I'm sure, happy to give my fellow Demonlanders the marginal heads up first

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Tyson4Brownlow replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
I spoke with Todd Viney about Mitch today, as we ended up sitting two rows apart at the TAC Cup GF. He watched the game with Goodwin. Said that "yeah we want Mitch to stay but it's complicated. Just gotta work through some stuff before he makes his mind up." Make of that what you will, but Todd was not defeatist, and having felt certain Mitch is leaving I said goodbye to Todd surprised that it's not so clear cut as the media makes out. Also congratulated Goodwin, who got out of his chair, initiated a handshake with me and said "thanks for havin me at your club" My club! Man, he is a smooth operator! -
The official I love Dom Tyson thread
Tyson4Brownlow replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am too young to have seen Robbie Flower play, which is why I confidently state that Dom Tyson will soon become the best demon midfielder I've seen play. The kid is everything you would want in an inside midfielder, and his vision and awareness makes him a freak. It's an early call, but he will be the champ that Johnstone should have been... Jones, Yze and a couple of Vineys will probably round out my top 5 by the way! -
I question how this bloke didn't make the Top 6 in our leadership group vote. Way ahead of Frawley, and probably Clark too

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 2
Tyson4Brownlow replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
How about people who have no idea what the injuries are and how serious stop taking pot shots. Every club in the league have multiple players injured like us. It's not always someone's fault or who we should sack. It just is...
