  1. I notice some people have put Clisby in their team for Friday. As I have already mentioned, Byrnes and Clisby will be emergencies
  2. Based on the last drill today, which was for the Friday squad only, Byrnes and Clisby didn't participate. Lock them in as 2 of the 3 emergencies who won't play this week.
  3. Fitzy and Viney did everything bar the final drill, which was only for players who are playing Friday. These two are not.
  4. I was at the session today. Very stock standard session, free flowing skills to prepare for Friday night. Same drills as per past few weeks. Clark still doing very little, jogging around the boundary. Hogan trained away from group, but is fine. Mahoney told me he will be in full training and play intra club next Thurs. One thing I will say, Chris Dawes is in no way injured. Did every drill, moving very well. Could of played Friday if the game actually mattered. Happy to answer questions...
  5. Watts will spend time forward in 2014 at times anyway, just like Toumpas and Vince will, so what's the difference?
  6. Fitzy won't play Friday. And Howe and Pedo can't be on the field the entire game. Watts should play 50/50 on the wing then the goal square when on the field
  7. Here is a crazy thought. Really left field stuff, but hear me out...... Maybe Jack Watts could play up forward Friday night??? I reckon he may have played there at some stage before!
  8. Appreciate that he is rehabbing his leg and been out of sight, out of mind, but I have seen this guy play for Sturt over the past two years and he is the real deal, such a tough competitor. Ferocious at ball and player, I reckon he will be the equal of at least Cross and Michie in terms of value over the journey. Tyson is class and will be elite, so i wont quite go quite as far as rating Riley with him. He is my big prediction of 2014 cause i have seen him bully too many Port and Adel players in the SANFL to think he wont make it. Will start at Casey, but by years end, Viney will have a "bash brother" to play with. Best wishes Aidan, you deserve your opportunity!
  9. I was at AAMI this morning, and must say the main thing I took out of training was how well Jetta trained, that Hogan is just a beast of a kid and he is just sooooo ready for this AFL stuff! Skills were good and I found myself developing a man crush on Bernard Vince after just one hour watching him with footy in hand. Composure and vision in bucketloads. No Mitch Clark, who I wanted to remember what he looked like in the flesh, but he must have been in the gym. Questions?
  10. I too will be at training this morning, and will post any news / observations...
  11. Amazes me how little people on this forum know about the business of sport. Sponsorships are sought after by a Sponsorship Manager, and the CEO does not attend any of the meetings until its pen to paper time. Also, most deals are not renewed due to the sponsor companies budget constraints, or if the premise of the deal had been, such as brand recognition in a new market. Deals are signed for one or two years with both parties knowing their will be no renewal at contract end. Enough with the sensationalism sack CS bs, people around her bag Caroline Wilson for being a drama queen and then follow in her very footsteps
  12. No it wouldn't. Don't put mayo on your burger to suit your story! 3 pages? Half a sports section? Haha please... Your embarrassing yourself mate.
  13. Snooze.... Can't believe this thread has 240 plus replies. If it happened during the season, it wouldn't have registered a paragraph in the papers!
  14. Tullamarine Football Club are the demons in full Melbourne uniform too
  15. It ain't the recruiters fault why Jurrah left the club. If you remember, they passed on Cousins and picked Jurrah. On talent alone, Jurrah was awesome for a PSD pick 1
  16. Not sure if our recruiting since 2008 is so bad anyway. Cook and Morton were poor but we picked up gems like McDonald and Howe and Jurrah with late picks,
  17. I was at the session this morning, loved it, seriously need AFL to start again asap! Plenty of pure footy drills before running around Tan to finish off. Things that were noteworthy: • Strauss is the forgotten man I feel, but his right foot is a real weapon and was the best kick at a windy session today • Pedersen is just real solid in all aspects of his training, could not see a weakness and a good mover for his size • Viney joined in everything, but even though he is a junior star, the rise in class he now faces was apparent • Clark was stalking around, helping were he could. So obvious he was busting to join in. I LOVE the presence and attitude of this guy! • the new navy training strip is a winner • Credit to Spencer, his endurance running was great and he had Garland, Viney and Rodan covered • the whole session just smacks of professionalism, presents well, everything catered for and training on Collingwood's old Gosch Paddock Oval had a better feel, and a fence too! • spoke to man boy Hogan, who did minor drills. Like his strut, his confidence, the first bloke to ever give me a boner I reckon... I recommend anyone who has the chance to attend a training to do so, puts all the media crap out of your mind and you can't help but love how far Neeld, Craig, Misson has taken this group in 12 months.
  18. You don't think a club would take 3 and 4 in Exchange for number 1? Mmmmmm I reckon it would. The only reason a club would offer 3 and 4 is because of our unique position where it also means you take a gun like Viney at 20 something, whilst still having another firstrounder at 12. A big win win for both teams!
  19. I am certain that a dummy bid for Viney will occur
  20. Its not bad Big Jim is it? Unsure if your allowed to trade the compo pick 4 though. Downside is that instead of getting 5 players in the Top 40 odd, we only get 4, but they should be better quality??
  21. A little radical of an idea, but would we consider this? If ladder stays the same, then Melb will have picks 3 and 4. If we can jag a spot higher, then 4 and 5 but i think we will be 16th sadly.. Is it worth giving these up for Pick 1 (likely the outside run and class of Whitfield we desperately need) and the ability to steal a Top 10 pick in Viney in the 2nd round? Maybe getting GWS or GC to exchange our third round pick (43?) for their second round (23?) could sweeten the deal... The trade would look like this: Before Trade Pick 3 (Viney) Pick 4 Pick 12 Pick 25 approx Pick 43 approx After Trade Pick 1 (Whitfield) Pick 12 Pick 23 approx (Viney) Pick 25 approx Either option gives us 3 Top 12 quality players, but the trade allows access to the BEST midfielder rather than the option of Pick 4. Not knowing who the other candidates are, but the difference between Pick 1 and Pick 4 can be the difference between ending up with Cotchin (a pick 2) or Morton (a pick 4!!!!) Would give the trade some thought, 50/50 on this myself. Thoughts?
  22. To be announced at Presidents function at the MCG today. They are a German automobile company. Congrats to all involved, and remember, you heard it here first
  23. Apart from Zac Smith, you have listed 3 dreadful ruckman gsmith12... And even Smith is only a one year rookie! Tell me how this cancels out my observation?
  24. Quickly and simply, if i was Gold Coast or even Port Adel, I would be having a big crack at the Russian come season’s end. These Club seem to lack a mature ruckman, and Jamar is from SA in the Power’s case... Jamar completes 10 years of service at the end of AFL 2012 and can leave the Demons for the club of his choice at year’s end. Gold Coast and Port would be keen i reckon, as GWS are unable to touch him due to already taking their one MFC player already. The Russian seems loyal, and committed, and is on the brink of being on the leadership group. Really hope he stays a Demon for life!! What do others think? Please correct me if i have any of the above mistaken....
