  1. On the topic of drug revelations why doesn't the Young Lib impersonator, Damien Barrett just admit that the stuff he brings to us is pretty much what we watched on the 7.30 report. It's like a school kid handing in an assignment with the original name scraped off and replaced by his own.
  2. Loving his progress, but I'm also hoping they don't get carried away and play him in every Casey game. I assume there's a plan.
  3. I'm also not suggesting sacking Neeld at this stage but, all things considered, The Reverend would have this team better organized and motivated than what we have seen over the last year and a bit. There can be no doubt about that surely.
  4. T-34, I take your point but I was commenting on the inference that Daniher was not a successful/ good coach. What I can clearly say is that there were teams during that period with considerable and greater talent that did not have the finals appearances and relative success that we had.
  5. I thought Blease was in the mix for that role along with Jetta.
  6. I'd take the Daniher period in a heartbeat. A great communicator. If you want to list faults, everybody's got one but bloody hell, we were ultra competitive for a long period of time and more often than not it was great to go to the footy.
  7. You do know that Taggert is coming through after several back stress injuries? Both are viewing monitored and my feeling has always been that the club rated them highly. Taggert lifted his rate recently at Casey and is a very good disposer of the football. Would love to see his poise coming out of the back line - rather than the fear factor stuff we currently do against better sides when kicking out.
  8. If he did clash with one of the assistants ie Rawlings I think it's a positive. Out of vigorous discussion comes progress.
  9. I mentioned earlier, not sure if its the same thread, that he did work experience here a few months ago. Very keen to be a part of a Melbourne. Played a bit of footy with Strawb O'Dwyers boy.
  10. His good form at Casey was up forward. Much prefer him playing high with the occasional run on the ball. Brings good forward pressure as well.
  11. The other thing I noticed is that he tries to get everything just right when kicking out of defense and sometimes it's a game of get it out of there quickly.
  12. Stuie, I can't help thinking he's being played out of position. He's not an in and under player. He's a great kick who we play too deep in defense.
  13. He was very poor today. In fairness to him, when he is poor no one misses him. If, say, a Tapscott is poor its no biggy as he doesn't stand out.
  14. Absolutely love him. Love his self belief, even when there were doubters of which I was one early days. A great example as to how to get the most out of yourself through bloody hard work.
  15. One of the things we could work on is not kicking up and under to a contest. Happened way to much today.
  16. Stuie, I think sometimes Tv doesn't allow you to look at all efforts across the ground. Whatever the case, i was there today and it was actually quite sad. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think he will be even a serviceable player for us. He plays like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders. And he probably has. I wonder whether he could play off a wing.
  17. Are you serious? I was there today and he was directly responsible for 3 goals in the first half through indecision.
  18. I came away thinking Watts is the worst number one draft pick in 20 years. And I really don't think he gives a stuff.
  19. He was shameful today. Does not run to back up and there are no 1 percenters. Frawley was just as bad and needs to spend less time pointing at people and more time getting the ball.
  20. Just got back. Great to have a win.....in spite of Watts and Frawley who were both insipid.
  21. I agree with you right up to the bit about Neil Balme. In my view the football played under him was the worst of seen since, well, now. There were passages of play where we would handball from the centre line to the back pocket only to have it intercepted for a goal...on many occasions. He was no coach.
  22. So true Biffen. Imagine if some of these blokes followed teams other than Celtic or Rangers in the Scottish League. It is what it is and come along for the ride or find a safe club that can grant you some fake glory. Didn't know about the Afghan boys coming along tomorrow. Brilliant. Maybe some of our disgruntled supporters can bend their ear with stories of real hardship.
