Caroline Wilson - not a fan of the succession plan
Return to Glory replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wilson et all are the reason attendances are falling. Coverage of footy is IMO almost entirely centered on issues beyond the sides competing. As a consequence we now relish the sensationalism over the game itself. -
I'm a big wrap for Michael Evans and agree with much of the sentiment re in our best 22 (when right). We can break down his various physical strengths and weaknesses but what stands out is that he has great nous IMO.

Apologies Redleg.

Come on WJ, I would think it would probably sit in the lower end of unwatchable performances. -

Agreed. And at this point in life, I'm not emotionally ready to enjoy sustained success. By that, I mean three good seasons in a row. Or two.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Return to Glory replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Doc Reid is either implicit or incredibly naive. Either way, his position would, in any other club be untenable. But not at the Bummers. -

We can only hope this saga drags on indefinitely. Why have a resolution when we can take the Paul Keating approach in regards to these pracks. Lets ensure they are indeed done slowly -
Just horrible news. I feel for that young family. It's so bloody unfair. And the seeming speed in which he succumbed.
-
Without trying to state the obvious, we need to make the forward entries count on the scoreboard.

Firstly, let me just say that I was channel surfing and by no means intended to land upon the young lib station of choice, 3AW as I drove along Peninsula Link this morning. There is a segment called (I think) Sports Report with Jon Anderson. The only thing that appeared to be missing from this comprehensive segment was any reference to sport. It was almost a facking master stroke how he managed to let the listener know of his matey matey relationship with Kecka. There was a vague reference to the cricket and I'm sure, upon reflection, he would regret this oversight. I will listen tomorrow morning. Poor man's Allan Partridge but shows promise.

My spies tell me he has a penchant for soft cotton in an xxl. Shhhhhh. Just a rumour. -
Jumbo, I still remember going to the footy perhaps 8 years ago now to watch Melbourne play StKilda at Etihad (or whatever it was called then). The Dees had made a flying start to the season. My Melbourne and StKilda mates met up at a pub before the game and a cocksure Demon supporter mate pulled out an Age article entitled (hope I'm accurate) 'Melbourne's Red and Blueprint for Success'.We were given a hiding that afternoon. I've never quite forgotten it. I'd love to know the year that was.

Lets not bag the Saints until after we play them.
-
WYL, I reckon you're dead right. Saints the next target.
-
Absolutely. Smith, for all his faults, looks to discuss issues. Denham seems to have little knowledge of the game and is like the halfwit at work that you want to snot who bags the Dees because he's looking for cheap attention.
