  1. As much as I dont want to buy into trading Oliver I wouldn't be surprised if stuff like this happens.
  2. Geelong will probably offer a 2nd rounder in exchange for paying his whole salary. Best maybe a future 1st.
  3. Cant see how Geelong make this happen. Guess we'll see how much we really want Oliver.
  4. Would be surprised if this doesn't get done. GWS just posturing for a better pick probably.
  5. Has been some minor speculation a few years ago that Butters was considering us if Hinkley got the sack.
  6. 9 and 16 supposedly going to Richmond for Bolton. Would leave 10 and future 1st for them to potentially offer us. Would rather keep kozzie.
  7. Also mentioned we're looking at Owies. Not 100% sure how I feel about it. Other interesting tid bit was the suggesting that battle could end up earning band two compensation which is at the end of the first round.
  8. Thanks, first bit of potential draft gossip. Lalor would be a good get, hopefully his hammies won't give him ongoing concerns.
  9. Really hope we can land him somehow. Obviously the ideal scenario would have us retain pick 5 but I wouldn't mind us splitting that pick to get the trade capital and still retain a mid first round selection. Best scenario: Future 1st and Brisbane's pick 18 (by trading 25, 45, 50) Alternative: split 5 for Richmond's 9, 13 (via baker) and future 2nd. Trade 13 and pick 18 (via Brisbane trade above). Get Houston, 9 and Richmonds future 2nd. Retain future 1st.
  10. Tigers could very well have picks 1, 6, 9, 13, 16, 21, 22. They also have a plethora of later picks to target future picks and Brisbane's first rounder. We should have a good relationship with yze and perhaps there will be deals to be done for us there.
  11. Cal and Riley are decent. They have their finger on the pulse of the trade scene and don't make up wild trade rumours. They also have good insight on the draft scene.
  12. Ryder Corrigan, Charlie McKinnon and Xavier Taylor stiff to miss out. Sharp the early favourite for pick 1 while talls Ludowyke, Duff-Tytler and Emmet show great promise.
  13. It was calf adjacent.
  14. Interesting, I would've thought we forfeited any rights to him after passing last year. Sounds like we can list him as a Cat-B rookie if everyone passes? Assume that means we can't match anyone that selects him in the national draft.
  15. Louis Emmett looks a star in the making as well while I wonder if Ludowyke will grow further and perhaps take some ruck duties next year for Sandy.
  16. Free ruck depth. Something we need.
  17. I was just hazarding a guess as to trades with players we've been linked to. Speculation was that Daniel could make his way here by some in the media, previous trades for older fringe 22 players have been 3rd rounders (current or future).. I.e Billings, Hunter. Daniel fits that bill and is contracted so didn't think pick 45 was too far out of range of a possible trade scenario @adonski stated that he is likely to stay at the dogs now anyway, not sure on source.
  18. Trying to choose between Geelong vs Brisbane...
  19. Won't get too many arguments from me
  20. Wasn't a big fan of the move so I'm happy with that.
  21. Say we end up doing the trade, that would leave us with 5, 15, 45 and 61. 45 for Daniel? Or perhaps future 3rd? 61 for Derksen?
  22. I've been impressed with Davis as well. Doubt he would be interested in giving up his media gig, but I would love for him to be involved at the club. Whether it be in a coaching capacity, leadership role or player management/welfare position.
  23. They'll have to find a trading partner willing to put up more than we are. Could be a few clubs willing to do that but impossible to predict prior to the trade/pick swap period. Richmond could be the trouble maker and trump us like the doggies did last year. If Richmond lose Graham they could end up with pick 21 and 22. They also have pick 29 as well. 21 and 22 = 1723 Or 21 and 29= 1531 Both already higher than our alleged offer without later junk picks thrown in.
  24. Early days yet and sure whispers will stay filtering through about which clubs like who. But this is a genuinely fascinating draft in how even the first round appears to be. I wouldn't be surprised if some names really elevate themselves into the top 10 or even top 5 that haven't been discussed too much. Armstrong is the one to watch I reckon, could easily see him go top 3. When the trade period is done I'll attempt to do a phantom.
