  1. Why is Cerra different to every other trade where a player nominates his preferred destination? If players only moved to clubs that had salary cap space and draft picks then North and Gold Coast would be trading stars in every year. We have a future first and the ability to improve our currency as we have done nearly every year. We got pick 8 just two years ago by trading out a future first with 2nd and 3rd rounders. If Cerra chooses us we'll get the deal done. Edit: not questioning you dazzle, just the logic of Ralphs statement.
  2. We supposedly wanted two first rounders for Hogan when he was the next big thing as a key forward. Freo then decided to split one of their first rounders and offered us the worse one. They're going to be difficult because Bell seemingly wants to win trades rather than get a mutually beneficial outcome. That was shown again when second rounder swaps had to be involved in the langdon trade. If Cerra nominates us we'll have a lot more leverage with the only risk remaining being Cerra walked through to the psd for North or Collingwood to take him. Freo would forego any compensation so I can't see that as being likely. I thought this would be a dull trade period for us but it could get interesting.
  3. On tonights team In: Duncan, Ratugolea and Tuohy Out: Dahlhaus, Simpson and O'Connor Looks to be a better team and they've had an extra run on Perth stadium now. Still think we should have their measure at our best and run them off their legs. Just don't fall asleep for a quarter again dees.
  4. Literally pushed off his face...
  5. I don't wish injury on anyone but if Mumford and Hawkins were clumsy together I wouldn't be unhappy.
  6. Have GWS changed their primary home jumper? I've seen it earlier in the year but figured it to be a clash jumper. It's better.
  7. We've proven to be pros at edging up the draft board and I have no doubt they will be able to trade up into a workable deal if a trade for Cerra comes to fruition. I just think freo would prefer Carltons pick 6. As far as I'm aware we have Brisbane's second pick (31-36ish) and hawthorn's 3rd pick (42ish) this year. Our first year next year is likely to be 14-18. Not impossible to work with but without trading out a player or two it would be difficult to get into the top 10 that freo are demanding.
  8. There's been smoke around Melbourne and Cerra now from a few different sources. I'm intrigued. Trades have always come down to a player nominating a club of choice and negotiations starting from there. Pending our TPP it's probably a more realistic chance than we realise. Freo won't be happy because there draft bounty wouldn't be anywhere near as good as what they would get from Carlton. And they can forgot even thinking about Jackson as part of any deal.
  9. Has anyone heard from @Wiseblood recently? Haven't seen him post in a long time. If you're still lurking around mate I hope you're well and set to enjoy our finals campaign. Come back and post when you can, you're one of the better ones around here (no offence everyone )
  10. I suspect if there was news to share we probably would've heard about it by now. Edit: (Would love to be proven wrong)
  11. His absence is probably telling.
  12. I reckon Rivers has great wing/midfield potential. Also wonder if we might see Brayshaw return to the midfield next year after being defensively educated on the wing.
  13. Damn. I was picturing Rick Grimes from Walking Dead. Could see "Rick" being this upset when we leak goals.
  14. Not sure how cheaply he'd come. He's a gun when fit but I'm a bit wary on this. He's not a free agent is he? Edit: he is not
  15. Let alone Weideman. Sounds like his cards are marked if this is to be believed.
  16. Don't think he was. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/star-cut-as-dogs-look-to-youth-20110504-1e8g8.html Articles mentions surgeries to hip, shoulders and knee massively impacting his final season at the dogs. Still, examples are fairly few and far between and Gunston would be subject to an in-depth medical.
  17. Who needs Mac Andrew anyway
  18. My top 5, with 5 being the winner as per the judging panel voting system. 5. Jackson 4. Georgiades 3. Green 2. Guldon 1. Rivers
  19. Not to mention the bookends of Weitering and McKay would be the envy of nearly every team.
  20. Perhaps we haven't heard anything about us because of finals but I suspect this year was all about player retention and we'll play little part in the trade period. We will have some cash freed up post the McDonald and Brayshaw contracts expiring at the end of next year as well as Hibberd, Melksham, Jetta, Jones and AvB all not likely to be on the list come 2023. Jackson and Oliver are the priority re-signings come 2022 and 2023 respectively but with some good accounting and trading into the future draft pool we can probably make a significant play for a high profile player. Ben King anyone?
  21. Hopefully next year never comes for them. Salary would be interesting.
  22. Just heard this as well. Unbelievable that Carlton are again in the box seat to recruit another high profile player on presumably big money. Pick 6 + extras would be the starting point. Guess being woeful for so long is paying dividends for them come trade time. Sad to say that they'll probably be a decent team next year.
  23. Shops for essentials, exercise and work 👍
  24. Would be stoked if May got selected and would be deserving as well. Just realised that Andrews wasn't included in the top 40 so that must increase his chances. Still some strong candidates like Stewart, Aliir and Weitering to contend with however. Look forward to thursday night, should be a good evening for the dees.
  25. They should have it under the match centre. Click on Round 23 Geelong vs Melbourne and they usually have quarter by quarter replays in the video section.
