AFLW: Former Dee Ryan Ferguson to Coach Tigers
If they're smart they'll trade him for Brad Sewell

Rumour only file ...
Mahoney: Lets offer them our 1st rounder and ask for a 2nd back Dodoro: That's a thought. Or, now bear with me hear, we ask for their player AND their first round pick. ALPHA DOG!!

Rumour only file ...
Can already imagine Mahoney and Dodoro fighting over trade negotiation tactics

Rumour only file ...
Seems consistent with our desire to move up the draft order.

Farewell Braydon Preuss
I wonder if our hand has become stronger in the Preuss negotiations after McKernan and Martin have nominated St Kilda and Bulldogs respectively. Mahoney stated on trade radio that we are in the market for a mature ruck/forward for cover but now the market is looking increasingly thin there. We tell GWS he is more valuable to us now as a back up ruck and will make him serve out his contract unless you make it worth our while. We then see how keen GWS are to have a starting 22 ruck or put there faith in mummy for another year.

Non-MFC trades and player movements 2020
Adelaide haven't matched St Kilda's bid according to trade radio with Crows set to receive a second round compensation pick currently 23.
-
AFL Trade Radio
Adelaide still haven't matched Brad Crouch bid with 10 odd minutes remaining.

Non-MFC trades and player movements 2020
Oleg Markov has made his way from the Tigers to the Sun for a future 3rd round pick.

Non-MFC trades and player movements 2020
And GWS has sent that pick 54 back to Freemantle for Jesse Hogan. Effectively Langdon out, Hogan in. A far cry from Freo paying pick 6 and 23 for Hogan only two years ago.

Non-MFC trades and player movements 2020
GWS has sent Zac Langdon to West coast for 2020 pick 54.

AFL Trade Radio
Think it was Cal discussing the demons briefly just now on trade radio, largely about acquisition of brown and and how we plan to shape our forward line with the three talls. At the end of the discussion he mentioned that he expects us to haggle a little bit over Preuss to GWS and that because he's contracted we wouldn't be throwing him away for late picks. Suggested it could be pick 30, 43 or involving the pick they'll acquire from Hately.

Jack Steven
And played most of the season overweight, broke down with soft tissue injuries and cats are trying to get rid of him after only one year. He's a shadow of the player he once was, wouldn't touch him.
-
Jack Steven
With all due respect, not a chance. More off field issues and well past his best with age and body working against him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Quite possibly, there are so many balls up in the air in this 18-club swingers fest.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
From the AFL website (Bucks beat me to it) :- Inside Trading: The 12 biggest deals of this year's Trade Period "The key forward has elected Melbourne as his preferred club after Essendon expressed interest. The Demons are not willing to part with pick No.25, however, which could make a quick deal difficult. Told he was surplus to requirements at North, reducing the possibility of a prime draft pick in return." Interesting that we don't want to use pick 25. Think someone suggested on here that we intend to offer our future 2nd instead. Can see multiple picks being swapped in this deal.

Adam Treloar
If that's true then, pending due diligence, we'd be silly not to look at it.
-
Adam Treloar
Would add a point of difference to our midfield, but just can't see how we can afford him in terms of salary and by trade. Pies wanted pick 5 from Suns. Can't see us satisfying them with what we've got, particularly with them looking to ship out their future first next year for the next daicos.

TMac on the Trade Table?
Just spitballing an idea here. In the hypothetical event that Tom doesn't find a new home, perhaps there's a way we can ease his contract burden and free up a bit of space by re-signing him for another 1 or 2 years. He's 28 now so along with senior opportunity he is probably also after financial security. Putting out a random figure here, but say he is on $700,000 over the next two years for a total of $1.4mil. We then extend his contract and say we will re-sign you for another year and give you a total of $1.6mil over three. We front end that deal and pay him $1mil for next year (sounds ridiculous I know) but then we're only left with 2 years to pay below AFL average wage. This frees up valuable space to do our major re-signings of Oliver and co as well as possibly giving us room to make a play for a free agent next year. Now obviously this will be dependent on whether we think he can regain some form and be a solid role player for us whether its part of the backline, forward line or just solid key position depth.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Sorry Dr. Evil but you've proven yourself to be untrustworthy. Therefore I don't believe you are joking and are indeed 100% factual in your statement that Brown is coming. Happy days. Also can you tell me where I can find some orange sherbet? I went across the street but couldn't find any.

Non-MFC trades and player movements 2020
Money has clearly won out there

Jordan Clark
True, I think it's more likely for us to get first round pick than Clark but who knows. Worth asking the question.

Jordan Clark
Would be keen, are we more interested in young Macrae though?

I'm happy with Giants matching. It may cause a few delays but not only does it mean Geelong don't get a freebie, but it will bleed them of at least one and possibly two of their first round picks. Giants don't want to draft 7-8 kids in one hit so will try and pry a young talent like Parfitt out of the cats. If that fails, which I think it will, it will mean they have plenty of 1st and 2nd round picks and could be open to swapping one for a package deal we can offer. There have been a few permutations thrown around here, but a future 2nd, Preuss and Avb - or whatever is the latest mail is - could get us back into the first round.

TMac on the Trade Table?
Haha, my apologies. By potato I mean I think they'll play like spuds next year. Don't get me wrong, if they take on all of T-Macs salary then I'll be expecting nothing but a token pick in return. But if they want us to contribute a significant amount then it slides back to giving us a more valuable pick in my opinion. My prediction is that they'll be in the lower half of the ladder and either a future second or third could wind up being fairly valuable. Having said that my preference would be for them to absorb his entire salary, giving us a token pick in return but giving us salary cap space to re-sign the likes of Oliver and Petracca to long term deals and potentially target a quality free agent like a Zach Merrett next season.
