2021 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS 2021
Maybe we have our eyes on a young key forward like Jye Amiss, Jacob van Rooyen or Jack Williams?

Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
We need midfield depth and he is a cheap plug and play option. Up to him if wants to battle it out on the fringes. There's a genuine shot for him to be part of a premiership team. That's gotta be enticing.

They'll get better offers I would think.

Subject to further trades, a bid on Daicos at pick 1 would mean pies would have to use picks 22, 36, 41, 43 and 46 to match. The flow on affects for our picks would look like 33 -> 32 45 -> 41 57 -> 52 This would further be improved by the Bulldogs matching of a predicted early bid for Darcy. The doggies pick 17 will no doubt be traded out for multiple later picks.

So...what do we need to achieve during this trade & draft period?
Small/medium lockdown defender (Maynard?) Project ruck and key forward Midfield depth (Dunstan?)

Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
First Cerra and now targeting Dunstan. Certainly looks like the club would like to add another midfielder. Our depth has taken a little hit with Jones and VDB gone. They didn't play much but we had a blessed run with injury and would be lucky to get year like that again.

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ
Was desperately hoping we would be making a play for King. Salary cap only goes so far I guess. Presuming AVB wouldn't net as much at all in a trade. 4th rounder or later I'd imagine.

Just my opinion but I reckon we'll see a change in tact this year. We've hit the draft pretty hard in the last few years and taken advantage of our dip down the ladder. This has also involved trading our future first rounders as we all know. As we consolidated ourselves as the premier team in the competition, the incentive for other clubs to trade picks for our futures becomes less. There are of course teams like Bulldogs and Pies that need points, but Bulldogs are unlikely going to want to give us a helping draft hand as they are our direct competition for the coming flags and Pies seem to have an arrangement with Gold Coast in place for multiple pick swaps. With having a young team (7 players < 50 games experience and <22yr in the gf) our focus could move from drafting high end draft talent, which becomes more difficult to acquire from our draft position, to trading in established talent to supplement our list. Already we have failed in our bid for Cerra due to not having the draft capital, or so the rumours say. Perhaps the club will be content with our elite young talent and healthy list profile of our midfield brigade to challenge next year. We can then supplement our draft hand next year by perhaps trading currency from this draft into next years. This will hopefully hold us in good stead to target specific player needs both at the draft and trade table. We also have two prospects in Woewodin and AMW tied to the club as f/s and nga respectively. They will hopefully come cheaply as neither are rated as first or second round picks as far as I'm aware from the released draft articles to date. Upgrade Jordon from rookie to senior list and perhaps draft a project tall ruck or key position player and that might do us for the year.

Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
Not quite a crumb but I instantly thought of this.

Adam Cerra
Wouldn't be upset with Cerra but sounds like he's Carlton bound. Would much prefer to put our chips in for King next year.

Mac Andrew
Looks a great prospect and can see the wraps on him. Do find it curious though that he is rated as top 10 universally in the draft and didn't even make the top 10 in Dandenongs B&F. Missed a lot of games due to state duties?

If we're lucky enough to salute again in the coming years I would love to see him present the cup on stage.- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs

Being greedy here but I need to be there at the G. As good as watching the win was on the couch, I really want to be part of the atmosphere at the home of football.- Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
Ended up kicking 59.24 for the season. 12.4 during the finals.- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
So... who else is going to watch the replay until sunrise?- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Can't believe the turn around. Was feeling very sullen during the second quarter and was terrible company for my partner who had jumped on the bandwagon in support. That second half... Speechless. All I could do was stare in disbelief as we slammed on goal after goal. Don't think i was any better company as I was glued to the TV in a somewhat dissociative state. I only wish I could have been there to share in the passion and joy of thousands of fans that have been through the pain and suffering that only demons fans would know. But demonland has done a damn good job at bringing us all together, particular through the toughest of recent times. Thank you @Demonland and everyone else associated in running this site. We deserve this.- Merch/Memorabilia
Hoping there will be more items soon. Need to spend my lockdown savings on something worthwhile.- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Yeah, a premiership is good and all. But have you guys ever gone to the snow? So much fun.- GAMEDAY: Grand Final vs Western Bulldogs

Anyone know where I could acquire/purchase one of these jumpers? Have seen this jumper pop up a couple times in old highlights and looks amazing.- AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ

Hibberd coming to the end of his contract as well, may win a reduced 1 year extension. Wouldn't be surprised if Brayshaw was extended for a few more years as well but at less of a premium than his 2018 year. What this amounts to is anyone's guess. I suspect, like you've suggested, that they're making sure there's enough cash to satisfy Oliver as well as leaving decent pay rises for Jackson, Pickett and Rivers. I'm sure they'll leave some cash in reserve for a player in mind as well. - Number 2
