  1. Is it just me (or my tv) but is channel 70 in HD look anything but?
  2. On the afl show 'gettable' cal mentions that we have salary cap space. Most of us have theorised that we will trade up for high end draft picks but perhaps we will shift one, or some, of those picks for ready made player(s).
  3. Latest injury update. No mention of BBB and he's featured in the training gallery so presume he's good to play at some level this weekend. Good to see Verrall back into main training and possibly playing this week as well.
  4. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/department-of-trade/afl-trade-news-rumours-whispers-jade-gresham-carlton-blues-free-agency-zac-fisher-uncertain-future-clubs-interested-st-kilda-saints-miles-bergman/news-story/8f1f80bf8ca9bc9c5554bd9e32f47e63 Somewhat interesting article. Blues yet again linked to another player, this time Gresham from the saints. What was more interesting is the apparent rumours of Tom Barrass being a possibility to move from the Eagles despite being contracted. Swans the main club linked to him so far. May not be an immediate need, but with May getting on and Petty being trialled forward, I wouldn't dismiss the thought of trading in a 27 year old Barrass.
  5. Next week Sydney vs Eagles Suns vs Hawks Freo vs Essendon This will make a lot of people feel dirty but we want an Essendon win to put freo back down to 14th. Blues have a bye and then face the Hawks. If they get up there and Freo also drop their following game against the dogs then we're back looking at a top 4 pick. Freo vs Carlton is a huge 8 point game and Freo's remaining games are against the Pies, Swans, Cats, Lions, Eagles, Port and Hawks. Eagles the only gimme game there.
  6. And gold coast have now slipped below freo.
  7. Ok wake up now suns, don't lose too much percentage.
  8. Would make it an interesting game if it was though. Release the velociraptors.
  9. Suns can't get a touch this quarter. 5 goals in 5 minutes play to Carlton.
  10. Not sure who I want to win. GC puts a game between them and freemantle while a Carlton win gets them within 2 points of freo and perhaps threaten to put them down another spot on the ladder later in the season.
  11. Michael Rudd showed a bit as a left foot key forward in that 3rd quarter. Liked De Mattias pace but sprayed a couple kicks, usually is better by foot from what I've seen previously. Shipp prominent off the half back line. Welsh and delean having good games for SA and like McAuliffe as well.
  12. Whitfield possibly going to be suspended and miss against us after their bye next week.
  13. Apologies if I've missed this reported elsewhere but do you know what the injury to BBB was?
  14. Round 13 Melbourne picks: 9, 16, 28 and 35 GWS picks: 4, 6, Round 14 Melbourne picks: 6, 16, 25 and 35 GWS picks: 7, 10 Still a lot to play out obviously but if we can engineer a swap with the Suns first round (?8-10 range) with a swap of 16 and 25, then we actually might be within a realistic shot of trading up for Reid. Could end up something like 6, 8 and future 1st for Reid. Then use left over picks to take K. Brown and make judgement calls on R. Andrew and O. Turner. GWS the major competitor to trade up for Reid, particularly if Himmelberg leaves and nets them an extra 1st round pick. Either way, we could easily end up landing 2 x top 10 picks to supplement our list. May the death ride continue.
  15. Hopefully tigers can get it done.
  16. I remember reading it in an article, maybe one of the "gettable" ones on AFL website. Think it was pre-nationals and the VFL game which he starred in so the thinking could have changed. The question mark is how they will get the draft capital for Walter (top 5, maybe #2) Read and Rogers (both 1st rounders with Rogers possibly pushing quite high as well). Having said that they can get creative by trading out futures an players and going into deficit so it's not impossible for them to get all three.
  17. AFL counsel Lisa Hannon said Mansell had "effectively ran through" Aish and his "turn-and-tuck" body motion meant he was no longer contesting the football, an assertion the Tribunal agreed with. What horse****... so in trying to avoid concussions and future litigation, the AFL is punishing players for protecting themselves and would rather see them open their body up, in turn increasing their chance of serious injury. The hypocrisy is staggering.
  18. I believe their pre-listing days are over and will have to cough up draft capital to match bids for their players now. There's talk they may even pass on one of the three players, Rogers I think.
  19. Kicked his 200th goal on the weekend and currently sits at #26 for most goals scored at MFC. May end up top 5 by the time his career is done.
  20. Possibly friends with riv?
  21. Had the same thought a few weeks ago. Another potential player to look at is Flanders who I liked in his draft year. Is racking up possessions in the VFL as a mid but admittedly I haven't watched many of their games. Looked to be a powerful hybrid mid/forward as well. Another player that can't get a look in is Sharp, who wanted a trade to WA last year. Hasn't played a game this year I don't think. Looks to be a fairly uncontested player though so don't think he'll be on our radar.
