  1. Possibly friends with riv?
  2. Had the same thought a few weeks ago. Another potential player to look at is Flanders who I liked in his draft year. Is racking up possessions in the VFL as a mid but admittedly I haven't watched many of their games. Looked to be a powerful hybrid mid/forward as well. Another player that can't get a look in is Sharp, who wanted a trade to WA last year. Hasn't played a game this year I don't think. Looks to be a fairly uncontested player though so don't think he'll be on our radar.
  3. I like him, ooc in 2024 and would be a good replacement for Hunter on a wing. Is fairly strong in the contest to my eye as well so not just an outside runner.
  4. The language around Petty doesn't sound fantastic. Is listed as 1-2 weeks but Selwyn stated they will have more clarity about what his return will look like after that time.
  5. Seems we can add another name to our NGA prospects with Orlando Turner from NT/norwood. 176cm small forward/wing prospect who is part of the AFL academy and kicked two goals against the Blues VFL team a few weeks ago. Don't know much else about him and doesn't seem to be in discussion for first round selection so perhaps may last to the +40 area for us to take him if worthy. Red-hot WA duo among this year's NGA prospects - https://www.afl.com.au/news/944776 Notes from the Carlton game from rookie-me. https://central.rookieme.com/afl/2023/05/15/scouting-notes-afl-academy-vs-carlton-vfl/ #11 Orlando Turner (Norwood/Northern Territory) 16/05/2005 | 176cm | 67kg | Small Forward/Wing The sole Northern Territory representative in the Academy ended the day as his side’s sole multiple goal kicker, taking his opportunities in the third quarter to help strengthen the Academy lead. Whilst Turner started as a small forward, it was a move to the wing in the second half that saw him really work into the game. He still applied the same level of pressure and intercepted a few Carlton forays in the front half, but also increased his production and damage with more opportunities in space. Both of Turner’s goals came from set shots; one after marking an attempted switch kick, and the other after going in for the ball and copping high contact. He could even have had a couple of more goals if he held a bit more composure on the run.
  6. Early days but I'm pretty damn happy we couldn't match a bid for Andrew.
  7. Shifter isn't the doyen of drafting that he's made out to be in my view. Even still, if he's truly a late 2nd/3rd round + prospect then it's a win for us as less draft capital is required. Provided JT is happy he has AFL qualities. Wonder how Riak is tracking now that he's back playing?
  8. Speaking of umpiring, I fear they've gone too far with the ducking interpretation. Some players are having their heads nearly taken off without dropping their heads and it's being largely ignored.
  9. Thought fritsch looked the best he has all year, moved well all over the ground and looked like he would make something happen whenever he had it. Could have had 4 goals and would normally kick those set shots. Hopefully he gets his eye in again for the back half of the year.
  10. Someone else posted something similar as well so was hopeful we could get him across at some point. No reason we can't have a crack again in 4 years when he's 22/23yrs.
  11. This, unless Petty is ready as well. Then it's either Smith or Tomlinson depending on where we want to play him.
  12. Signed a 4 year extension until 2028. Kid looks a star.
  13. Both players are taking to the field and one in the AFL. With finals and potentially a grand final in play and a key forward spot up for grabs, they're not going to pull the pin.
  14. Out: McDonald, Chandler, Harmes, Jordon In: Brown, Hunter, Tomlinson Tomlinson to fill the second key defender post and free up lever to be the 3rd tall. Would prefer Turner but don't think he has the size for carltons forwards.
  15. Not sure why Brown is on the outer, a far better forward option for mine over McDonald. Isn't agile but neither is t-mac and will provide a better target and draw more free kicks. Realistically the game plan needs to be adjusted or it won't matter who comes in or out. Our ball movement is so slow that any forward is going to struggle down there.
  16. Shame that we can't trust our team anymore. We don't look that far off but we also never look likely either. Think we desperately need another 3rd tall to help lever with his intercept game. While I get the importance of the turnover game, we seem to have neglected clearance work which is hugely important if we need quick goals. For whatever reason, (part luck, part positioning) we seem to have poor ability to win the ground balls at contests with front and centre work. I think we can fix it, but time is running out. Also I'm not sure an average mid with an average skill set is the best option for sub.
  17. Are these stats right? Looks like hardly anyone has touched the footy. Jefferson 2 D Smith 2 Adams 3 Amw 3 Melksham 4 Sestan 4 J Smith 4 Turner 5 Laurie 6 Woewodin 6
  18. Darcy gets away with a lot of push in the backs
  19. I actually like how he's attacking the contest, that fritsch goal doesn't happen if he doesn't bring that to ground. The marks will come but he's presenting a good target for now.
  20. Taken two contested marks, not sure I agree here.
  21. Our defensive pressure looks the best it's been this year imo
  22. Alot on the line in this game. Win this and I will be reasonably happy for a while. While a loss will make me disproportionately upset for longer.
  23. Did he not just sign like an 8 year contract extension until 2030?
  24. Not a proper music video, just a visualiser. But love how they can blend genres and good to see them blowing up this year. New album came out last week.
