Don't like to get too wrapped up in points value, however we have given up 1000 points to rise from 14 to 11 while crows only gave up 400 odd points to go from 23 to 14. And they got a player. Edit: end of the day we had to pay a premium for a prized selection that had competition. I'll back the club on this.

I'd be very happy with Curtin, as I'm sure @Pennant St Dee would be. -
The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread

Melbourne next could have Daniel Curtin and forward Nate Caddy in the mix. Tall defender Connor O'Sullivan is expected to be in the next group and could be an option for Greater Western Sydney with its top-10 pick -
Future 3rd tied to the bulldogs. Mini-deathride @adonski Get your moped ready.
-
My apologies, I got my info wrong (so did the afl trade tracker). Not sure if it's doggies or suns 3rd rounder as it doesn't specify.
-
Although the actual article states future 3rd. That seems more realistic.
-
Are you sure? From the afl trade tracker website. Western Bulldogs receive: a first-round pick (currently No.4), two third-round picks (currently No. 46 and 51) and a future first-round pick (tied to GC) Gold Coast Suns receive: two first-round picks (currently No.10 and 17) and a future first-round pick (tied to WB)
-
No it's tied to the bulldogs. Under current rules, if you trade out a future 1st you can't trade out a future 2nd or 3rd unless you've replaced those picks. Doggies got GCs future 1st from their trade yesterday so were allowed to trade their future 3rd without issue. I missed that part of the deal. So doggies got pick 4 and gcs future 1st for 10, 17 and doggies future 1st. Doggies are doing well.
-
I didn't realise the doggies got GCs future 1st out of their trade for pick 4 yesterday. Future 3rd is probably fair given harmes is on 500k. Grundy and Harmes alone brings us 1.15 mil in cap savings. Next year we should be making some big plays.
-
Any mention of what that was?
-
Bulldogs have 39, 47 and 52. The will need to keep approximately 1000 draft points (based off a bid at 13 and 20% discount) 39, 47 and 52 = 1008 points. They've traded their future 1st so can't trade a f2 or f3. Interesting to see how this trade gets done.
-
They described our interest as both mild and bland. Bland referring to level of "spice" for a reference scale. Seem to downplay it as unlikely from my interpretation. However when listening it did sort of give me Lachie Hunter vibes when his name first popped up last year. I'd still keep a watch for it.
-
So I'm guessing we're not getting the full team bnf leader board this year? Disappointing.
-
Trade radio stating Melbourne had "mild" interest in Billings. Doesn't sound significant and was played down
-
Is that Tom McDawkins?
-
Going by this article I think it's safe to assume he'll be on the senior list next year. Turner extends contract with Dees… https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1165517/turner-extends-contract-with-dees

Have a link? Would like to to listen to the interview. -
Contracted for next year but will be a RFA then. Dockers making noise about wanting to sign him up soon
-
We want an early 2nd rounder for Grundy according to foxsports. Can we get 23 off the swans? Could help land us pick 10
-
Perhaps we need a Geelong pick 7 thread
-
If it's pick 3 though they are taking that and running no? Adelaide didn't match doedee and got pick 19 straight away today. Maybe wishfully thinking but perhaps it's not band 1 like they hoped?
-
Interesting that 30mins ago Goldstein has been confirmed to make his way to the bombers but no confirmation on McKay. Think they were submitted at the same time.
-
Problem is Adelaide. Their picks 19, 22, 25 = 2549 points. Might come down to which club is willing to offer futures. Gold Coast cleaning up with elite talent and future picks.
-
Both pick 4 and ports futures 1st have been traded to bulldogs and freo respectively
-
Don't think anyone is concerned about Goldstein netting any compensation.
