  1. Adelaide seem to have done a bit of work with Petty, problem for them is they still need to satisfy us Keep him as a required player like numerous clubs have done before. If he still wants out in two years as an RFA, we'll likely still get a mid to late first round pick as compensation. Which is currently the best Adelaide are offering with McAdam thrown in. Adelaide are yet to make it an appealing proposition for us. It's like North offering 15, 17, 18 and future end of first (19+) to West Coast. Doesn't go anywhere near satisfying the asset that he is. If Thilthorpe or Fogerty become part of the equation then we might listen. But I just can't see them offering either player.
  2. That's a different conversation that I would probably be willing to accept.
  3. Problem is they won't give up either of those players. Both are from Adelaide and both are contracted. This is a massive free-kick to Adelaide if we let him walk. Plus their original offer was pick 14 which was our pick. I don't even think we can legally receive that back. But if we can, they bought that from the Gold Coast Suns for two mid 20s picks. Petty is worth more than that. Particularly to us with limited key position depth.
  4. I just can't see us trading a young key position player without an adequate replacement. Petty out means a backline of May, Lever and Tomlinson and a fwd line of JvR and hope that Brown or McDonald don't fall apart. Maybe fullarton. We kiss any chance of a premiership success goodbye imo, he is that important. We're only taking two picks to the draft anyway and I'm not sure pick 10 helps us get Reid. Just because Adelaide want him doesn't mean we should bow to their wishes and shoot ourselves in the foot in the process.
  5. Can we even take pick 14 back? Thought there were rules preventing this. We got blocked by the afl back in 2019 from receiving our 2nd rounder back in the freo Langdon - pick swap trades back in 2019.
  6. Unless we have other plans for the draft with pick 41 we just select him there after he nominates a price on his head. Doubt other clubs will pick him up. Sick of us being reasonable at the table only for other clubs trying to take us for a ride.
  7. That's as good as it will get for the crows. Wonder if we get a future 3rd or 4th back with it.
  8. Was getting worried to see this thread with a high post count today. Had a huge sigh of relief when it's all come from Kornes. This guy will advise us to move him on this year then have a crack at us next year for poor list management when we have no key position depth. If he moved, he will then claim it as further evidence of poor club culture. Guy is a click bait parasite.
  9. Interesting. Both Hawthorn and Bulldogs are said to be looking at mid types. If we don't move up it may look like.. Scenario 1 1. Eagles - Reid 2. Gold Coast - Walter 3. North - McKercher 4. North - Duursma 5. Hawks - Watson/Sanders 6. Bulldogs - Watson/Sanders 7. Demons - Curtin, O'Sullivan Scenario 2 1. North - Reid 2. Gold Coast - Walter 3. Eagles - Curtin 4. North - McKercher 5. Hawks - Duursma 6. Bulldogs - Watson/Sanders 7. Demons - Watson/Sanders/O'Sullivan
  10. Only if they select him at 2 or 3 or they trade up into the top 10 with their other picks. They can't match a bid within 40 like everyone else.
  11. They're desperate for key position players yet seem intent on ignoring them, at least early on in the draft. There was an article about them looking to rookie a SA key backman that was previously rookie listed in 2019 with the swans. Toby Pink i think. With Logue out and McKay gone they will definitely need to shore up that part of the ground at some point. If they don't burn all their late first rounders to move up for pick 1, I'd look for them trying to move up to draft O'Sullivan, Murphy or later take Zakostelsky or Dawson.
  12. 11 and f1? High price and not sure if worth. But perhaps something comes back the other way. All depends if we see value on going from 11 to 8 for either a player or shot at Reid.
  13. GETTABLE: WA battle for Hawk, Schultz status, 'Harley heist' possible? https://www.afl.com.au/video/1052068 Cal and Riley speculating that Curtin is likely to get through to pick 6 which may open the possibility for us to trade up.

  15. I do wonder if we might still look at a back-up ruck as a DFA or rookie. Sam Hayes and Scott Lycett for Port I believe are out of contract and would come cheap. Not sure we can rely on Fullarton if Gawn goes down and he seems to be more a fwd with a little bit of ruck rather than the other way round.
  16. Its ok, I don't think anyone understood it anyway.
  17. 2024 is the year for us landing a big fish in my view.
  18. Its been discussed numerous times by hopeful fans wanting a free early 1st round pick. I haven't heard any genuine media speculation that suggests GWS are actually willing to put up 7 with Haynes.
  19. Will he actually though? Haven't heard any noise about this.
