I wouldn't be shocked if we went our preferred forward with 3 (if he wasn going to be there at 6/7), and then used 7 to get a Milera or Gresham type. Definitely a possibility if we're keen on a particular forward. Guess it comes down to how highly we rate Parish. I'd back the club either way

I liked all the Brayshaw highlight packages actually, I could see the footballer in him. And I know how highlights work, they are all most of us have to go by, seeing as we aren't professional talent scouts.

Just not feeling it with him.. He's no Brayshaw- THAT was a highlights package! Liking the look of Hibbert, has a bit of Bontempelli about him (in the physical sense, and that kick ) Kind of hoping we "reach" with 3 for the best available KPF and use 7 on the best available talent left over, but happy to just have faith with the recruitment team.

Really wish I can see more of Parish than the minute or so of YouTube footage that I can find. From what I've seen (in highlights packages) I'd be more than happy if we went Francis 3 and one of Milera/Hibbert at 7.

Ok, so we were intent on getting pick 3, seeing as we had a deal lined up with GC for some time. That doesn't suggest to me that it must be Parish- but could be anyone we thought would only be available at pick 3-5 (3 players). It could be Parish, or it could be one of the KPP's we knew would go before (even as "low" as pick 5) What's my point? It might be Parish, or it might be one of Curnow, Francis or Weideman. I'm breaking ground.

Your reservations can be attributed to past failings, but I've come to realise we must judge draftees on their individual merits. Plus all we have to go by are YouTube highlights. Trust the processes.

Just win and he stays. If he chooses to leave for sentimental reasons it shouldn't affect us if we have been drafting and developing wisely. Our future has always, and will always be in our hands, and if we are to be successful that success will not live and die on one player. Just look to Hawthorn- Buddy leaves, no beats skipped. When do the new guys come to the club and meet their new team mates? Do they bring the whole list back now and do some kind of meet and greet BBQ type thing or do they just do it when pre season starts?

Their hatred for each other is pretty mutual, it's funny. Just on who we take at 3, my feeling is that seeing as it's been hard for us to attract good big men (apart from drafting), and we do need to find Jesse a mate, and (supposedly) mids grow on trees- then we take the best KP that won't be available at 7 with 3, then we take the best mid available at 7. My MFCSS is in a confused state right now and I'm trusting this club a little more each day. Happy to sit back on this one and trust the club.

Then some players who no one talks about have like 14 minute packages! Hard to get a good view of Parish or Curnow.

God I hope this works out, I hope parish is more than an Ellen DeGenerous clone, this is risky.

The Melksham deal is the one we failed to capitalise on. He was uncontracted, we offered more money and more years, and we didn't hold out and force him to the PSD. Why deal ethically with the druggies, why do they deserve fair treatment?

Well the entitled brat chose Collingwood so what can we do? And telling him to go to the PSD is just an immature show of foolish pride.

Yeah but then at least in a few years Jesse will have a mate- what can we do now? There's no guarantee we can draft one in and our war chest might as well be filled with Monopoly money.

Let's play it safe, stick with 6, pick up the best KPF available, consider Petracca the new boom recruit, and open up the mythical war chest next year for whatever we deem to lack. I'm a bit weary of being too aggressive for a speculative kid.
