  1. Hell NO! was good for a while but cost us a lot of players in the long term. Wouldn't play guys like Thompson and Jolly enough which impacted on their decisions to leave. Constantly played older guys instead of younger guys. Traded picks for old washed up players. NO CHANCE
  2. Can't say but very reliable source
  3. I have it on good authority that Paul Roos has already spoken to a number of Melbourne's leadership group over the last week. Stay tuned!
  4. What about trade Frawley to GC for Swallow and Prestia? I would rather trade him at the end of this year than risk losing him for nothing the year after. Swallow and Prestia are both Victorian and could be worth considering.
  5. who cares how many posts I have? Sorry I have better things to do in my life than post 1500 plus posts. That aside, Watts was moved forward because we were lacking options at the time. As much as I would like to see him as a permanent forward we need his disposal out of the back line. As soon as he went forward our disposal from defense was sloppy at best. The guy lacks urgency as most on here would agree but at the end of the day he is in our best 22. Neeld made special mention of his efforts yesterday in his press conference so obviously be seems to think the same.
  6. Watts out? Joking right? It was by far his best game of the year and many more would be dropped before him. Get off his back and learn a thing or two about football before commenting. #troll
  7. Stupid comment. Judd, Goddard, Watson and Ball all went to Private schools and they are not soft!
  8. Said it before, we should have taken Wines. We needed/need a ready made player
  9. I love the fact that Viney has the balls to step up and say something. What concerns me is if we keep putting up performances like this then guys like Viney/Hogan are not going to want to sign new contracts (Hogan particularly). We have serious issues and need quick smart reactions.
  10. Hopefully not but I have a bad feeling about this one. Wines is ready made and I would have thought he is exactly what we need now.
  11. I am sure Toumpas will be a good player but I must say that seeing Wines play today has me concerned. Wines is a ready made in and under player and Toumpas looks like he will take two years to develop. I am so sick of having to always wait on players to "build up" etc. I want to see results and I think that we may have made another draft mistake. Why has every other club improved over the summer and we look the same? Enough is enough!
  12. I watched an interview with this kid yesterday and he refers to him self as "an outside midfielder" who plas and likens himself to Bryce Gibbs. This bothers me big time. Gibbs is not what the MFC need anymore of!
  13. In almost every year since the 2000 draft it could be argued that each number 1 pick wouldn't go number one if chosen again. Example Hodge at 1, judd at 3, Bartel at 7? now would most likely be Judd, Bartel then Hodge. Although in nearly every case, the number 1 pick in that year would still be a top 5-10 pick. My point is that if Watts doesn't live up to a number 1 pick at the end of his career but lives up to a top 5 pick then I am happy. Nic Nat is a gun but lets judge them at the end of their careers and after BOTH players have played in GOOD sides.
  14. No chance. Beams is a good player in a good team. I wouldn't be so confident that he could play like he does in a struggling side like Melbourne. Wellingham is not the type of player we need. We need muscle and skill not just skill. Skill hasn't taken us where we want in recent time (Morton).
  15. Bail, Bate, Dunn and Moloney must all be cut at the end of this year. Too often these players turn the footy over with basic foot skill errors. For our club to move forward we need to get rid of the type of players. Moloney is an absolute disgrace! If he wants to put himself on the market and test the waters with other clubs then [censored] off. He is an over rated player who has shown NO heart all season and isn't a leaders a.hole.
  16. Boak is the obvious choice but if we could get Knights for next to nothing then brilliant. Most other players on the list are B grade at best.
  17. Well played Melbourne. Finally starting to play hard off field
  18. Situations like this do present opportunities for other players. We have been Clark focused all year and maybe this will give us more options. He has been amazing all year but maybe this gives Cook, Sheahan etc a chance. I just hope they don't move Watts from the back line straight away, he is too important with his play set up.
  19. Tappy is the man! Players from other sides need to think twice about backing into a pack when playing us. For to long now Melbourne have been outside/soft club. This [censored] has got to stop, now! Neeld has the right style plan, in and under and he wouldn't have minded seeing Tappy fly the flag on Monday.
  20. Jamar wins most of the centre bounce taps but almost always taps it to the opposition. Surely if he is goof enough to win the tap then he is good enough to put it down Moloney, Trengove or McKenzies throat! We were smashed in the middle all day today (except when Clark rucked).
  21. Watts has been asked to play on the wing and has 21 touches + 1 goal at 3/4 time. He has shown he can get the footy so why not keep in in the forward line only?
  22. Pretty sure he signed a new 3 year deal last year. He aint going anywhere.
  23. You have rocks in your head if you think they will trade him. The better we become as a side the better he will become. It's idiotic supporters like you that probably never player "high" level footy and don't realise that things don't happen over night. Dawes has been in the system for year and has only just started having an impact last year and look at the support he has around him. If we develop/pick up good on ballers you just watch the difference.
