  1. Only plays well against bottom sides!
  2. It's players like Aaron Davey that Melbourne need to avoid playing. These apparent "leaders" of our club go missing when a hard ball is there to be won. It's these kind of "front running" players that cause us to be an up and down team. If our players would consitantly put ther head over the ball (and not only every 2-3 games)we would be in much better shape than we are now. Brent Moloney is a perfect example of the above. He generaly has his good games against lower ranked sides that us. Everytime he recieves a little bit of attention he tends to go missing.
  3. The only difference is that the amount Sylvia is "apparently" after is a much more realisic figure than what Scully is likely to achieve. In my opinion the best player in every club should be the highest paid and Tom Scully is not even close at the moment. You could urgue that Syvlia isn't either but atleast he is close.
  4. What Melbourne should be focussing on is paying our other "out of contract" players what they deserve rather than trying to impress Scully. If Melbourne pay Scully more than anyone at the club, just to keep him, this will send the wrong messages through the playing group. Pay Sylvia what he wants and if Scully doesn't want to stay then show him the door and help him pack his bags!
  5. The problem with Melbourne (and has been for many years) is we have way too many SOFT footballers. Guys like Morton, Dunn, Davey and these types are not prepared to put their heads over the footy when needed. Too often these guys get pushed off the footy or over run it and are always chasing. Its time to stop playing these guys and continue to play "goers" like Blease, Tapscott and Trengove etc.... If we can't eliminate this from our game style we will never be anything but a bottom 8 side.
