  1. What about Brandon Jack at the Swans. He might be a Roosy favourite!
  2. See, I told you we were into Prestia. My source is one of my ex-pupils who is a family friend of the Prestia's. His exact words were 'we have put an offer to him and he is considering it'.
  3. Not really! There are plenty of people who know Prestia well because they went to school with him at Assumption or played against him at TAC or AGSV level!
  4. I don't think being surprised is the problem, it is the lack of effort and intensity from our players and the constant excuses from our highly paid Head Coach.
  5. Heard from a friend of the Prestia's today that Melbourne have put an offer in front of Prestia and he is giving it serious consideration.
  6. No, those same fans have not been happy with Roos coaching for quite a while and the losses are not the issue. The issue is the poor selections, the inability to motivate the players and the one dimensional game plan. Remember this guy is paid $1.5 AUD a year. He is supposed to be one of the best, that does not appear to be the case for the majority of this season. Tyson and Vandenberg were underdone and so was Jay Kennedy Harris. We would have been better with 3 fully fit alternatives this week.
  7. It was disturbing that it took Roos until 3/4 time to give the players a real rev up. We lacked intensity today. Both Vandenberg and Tyson looked injured still and with fully fit inclusions we would have won the game. I think Roos is not a good match day coach, he is a strategist and I really hope Goodwin is given more of a leading role soon. Before others criticise, there is definitely a ground swell of dissatisfaction with Roos coaching from the supporters that I talk with every week at the games, particularly today.
  8. Harmed did some good things but he will be a solid player with a few more matches under his belt.
  9. Fantastic attitude. Met Harmesy before the Collingwood Game. He is probably the most interesting and enthusiastic player that I have spoken to. I am confident that he could develop into a similar player to Jack Viney or Nathan Jones. Hopefully he goes out and plays a blinder on Saturday. Good luck Harmesy on your well deserved debut!
  10. If he is mentally scarred then it may well be because he has turned over the ball plenty of times in the past few seasons and has left me very frustrated at these errors which have cost us dearly in the past. Having said that, he appears to be doing well this year. I think many Melbourne supporters would not worry too much if he moved on!
  11. Many thought Bastinac was potentially as good as Scully after his TAC Grind Final performance, pre their draft selection. Would sign him up as he could definitely flourish with a few quality youngsters around him.
  12. If you look at Roos most recent press conference, you can see that this team is starting to wear him down. I hope McCartney and Goodwin get more involved so that we don't see our coach have a meltdown! The bye may be very beneficial for our Head Coach.
  13. Sorry I think you need to re-read chook fowler. I did not call ANB a passenger. Max King can play as a forward so he would not necessarily replace Gawn. You and I and the players know who the passengers are so what is the point of naming them.
  14. Blood more youngsters. Now is the time! Harmes must be elevated and given a go! Next season maybe King will get a game for Melbourne. Play Dawes in place of the injured Pedersen (he has to kick a few goals sometime). I am so looking forward to Trengove and Petracca playing next year. Alex Neal Bulleen will definitely be ready for next season if we keep playing him in the starting 21. Stretch plays well for us because he is motivated like Viney. I think we need to establish who wants to be at the club and will work hard for the team and the Club and who won't! No more passengers!
  15. No four quarter effort = no win for the Demons. It is a simple equation that the players need to memorise and enact.
  16. He had more X factor than Nathan Jones when he was at his best at the Crows and now he has returned to that kind of form. It's just a shame there are not more like him on the list!
  17. How do you get a decent player to come to us at the moment. We need to show a bit more on field or we won't get a Prestia, a Coniglio or a Dangerfield. We would be better picking up another Brayshaw out of the draft, that is probably more likely.
  18. The whole coaching team and the players need to review that game hard. The 3 goals we kicked at the end of the 2nd quarter largely came from a lift in intensity that came from some choice words coming from supporters about urgency and intensity. This team is kidding us, some of the players only show intensity for patches of the game instead of the full match.
  19. I sometimes wonder if some of the posters here are watching the same game! At ground level in the Cheer Squad you see stuff you might not see as well elsewhere. Riley tackled really ferociously on a couple of occasions and frightened the odd Collingwood player. He deserves another game! Bradshaw was amazing and hard at it. I thought Watts played one of his most complete games for the club. He tackled, put his head over the ball, went through traffic and delivered some beautiful passes. We need to bring in Alex Neal Bulleen and Harmes soon so that they can refine their skills with some of our tougher players. Bar those 2, and Tyson I don't see anyone else banging down the door. Having Dawes might have helped Hogan up forward. We are however finally starting to move in the right direction and 2 Rising Star Awards in consecutive weeks shows that. Let's get positive people, who knows it might be contagious!
  20. Fitness and motivation just not good enough. It is a four quarter effort to finish off a team as talented as Port.
  21. Nothing to see here. Move along!
  22. I said I was starting to think that there might be a problem with Roos strategy. I did not say there was. Sydney was a very different team to the present Melbourne team. Malthouse is not exactly doing well with Carlton and Rodney Eade is having problems getting Gold Coast to perform. It is hard to take a team to the top and even harder to keep them there. Roos is a great people manager but his game is very defensive. Most of our problems appear to be in the midfield. We need to hope that Goodwin can get them playing.
  23. Tyson is carrying a strain. He had tape on his thigh and it is common knowledge that he has been carrying a strain all year.
  24. I'm starting to think that Goodwin may know more about the modern game than Roos. We do however need to bring in as many big bodied midfielders as we can over the next 2 years so that we can win the ball at clearances. Spencer won his fair share of hit outs but there was nearly always a Hawthorn player on the end of it.
  25. I liked the look of Harmes in the VFL and think he will be upgraded soon. The only other players that need to come in are Viney and Jetta. Alex Neal-Bulleen does not look ready yet but will be a good player. We are really missing having a big body like Petracca in the midfield to help Jones at clearances. Viney and Trengove will be vital going forward. If we don't get Trengove back next year then we will have to replace with some experience.
