  1. I think that you have to make 3 live choices in the draft. Does Clisby's elevation count towards that or have the AFL changed the rules?
  2. There are only 3 spots on the Senior List as Daniel Cross still has to be added to our Primary List. Does this mean more delistings or are we not using Pick 57 or the PSD2?
  3. Somebody was suggesting on the Rumour Mill that we have already signed Nahas but have not announced him yet, much like the Cross situation.
  4. Much prefer Salem to Sheed. Both left footers but Salem has more speed and slightly better skills. Sheed would be able to do more inside work though.
  5. Salem looks far more exciting than Bontempelli. Salem is a class player for our midfield and that is what we need, we have enough insiders from our trading.
  6. What about Nick Joyce from the Adelaide Crows. Is he worth drafting as a rookie? He is listed as a midfielder and he has been in the system for a couple of years. Adelaide has just delisted him.
  7. Christian Salem looks great on the AFL draft prospects today. He is a left footer so I think that Roos will consider him at Pick 9. He also seems a mature young man who would put the team first.
  8. I would have Chris Dawes as Captain and Nathan Jones as Vice Captain or the other way around.
  9. Michael Evans and Dom Barry have a fair bit of pace. I think Taggert is quite quick too.
  10. Remember that we pinched Jeff White from Fremantle when we were a more attractive proposition, so I guess it is swings and roundabouts.
  11. If we get Bernie Vincent then we have attracted talent and you can close this pointless thread.
  12. If we were offered Hamish Hartlett and Pick 13 for Pick 2 we would jump at it. Imagine a midfield with Hartlett, Vince, Michie , Cross and maybe Bontempelli or Freeman. That would be an awesome set of additions to our present players and would propel us up the ladder quite a bit.
  13. Even gun players have an off year and Bernie fell out with the administration after his naked party antics on the grog.
  14. Sorry can't agree. Bernie Vince is still a gun player and it shows how little a lot of Victorians watch Interstate Football when they deride such talented AFL players. Bring him in with Jarrad Lyons and pick up a couple more youngsters in the draft and Cross in the Pre-Season and we might actually start to win more clearances and amass more Inside 50's.
  15. In fact it says retired but he was told that he would not be getting another contract from the Bulldogs so they cannot be compensated and we cannot be penalised for signing him.
  16. He is on the AFL website as delisted but the paperwork has not been done for any players yet!
  17. Cross is a Delisted Free Agent and has no effect on compensation for Sylvia.
  18. The Adelaide List Manager just told Damien Barrett on Trade Radio that 'Rory will not be going anywhere'. Definitely time to close this thread.
  19. We are apparently interested in Viv Michie from Fremantle. I think that we could turn him into a player add put him into our midfield straight away. Unfortunately we are going to have to develop young players like Viney and Toumpas. We are not going to get stars very easily during the Trade Period but we might get players like Swallow, Gaff, Shuey, Wines etc. and maybe we can turn them into stars. Unfortunately players like Daisy Thomas and Lance Franklin will not be interested in us for many years to come.
  20. The issue about Sylvia leaving is that we have to find 8 decent players for the primary list. 7 if we upgrade Clisby and 6 if we upgrade Magner. Decent mids like Sylvia do not just grow on trees, especially if you are Melbourne FC. We must start throwing big money around and pay 100% of the salary cap. Every member should pay the $25 extra on their membership so that the club can get the best players possible. I think that most Melbourne members could afford to do this!
  21. Maybe Rockliff is a smokescreen. Could Jack Redden be a player that we have approached?
  22. When I met Colin at training at the beginning of this season he seemed very disinterested in all things Melbourne. I think that he is probably not very committed to a team that he needs to lead on field with his talent. Brock McLean ws the type of player that would take the game by the scruff of the neck but I think that Colin would prefer playing second fiddle in a top 8 team right now.
  23. Remember talking to the Yarra Valley football coach and he told me that Gysberts was a cut above Blease.
  24. Short memories! Jolly and Jamar will be like Jamar and Martin. We will play our best football with two good ruck men hitting out. Gawn lacks the toughness to be a ruck and Spencer needs development still. Gawn is really a forward.
  25. Scott Selwood was a gun Supercoach performer last year. He was averaging over 100 points a game. He scores goals, gets plenty of possessions and can tackle.
