  1. Easy question to answer . . . 2001/02/03, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018. So only 12.
  2. We all loved Bernie dearly. There will be money changing hands somewhere.
  3. Clarkson is right about Geelong . . . God only knows what he thinks about us!
  4. What they are saying post game . . . No one stands the mark and gives Blicavs an extra couple of metres before he needs to kick. Not sure Goodwin would be happy with that. Crikey Melb must be absolute complete garbage. Because we are. Cracks. Papered. Over. Goes to show how bad Melbourne really are. Massive issues that simply aren’t being addressed. Players being carried by the old brigade and a game plan that is truly awful. Talent is there but we aren’t playing to it. Chris Scott remains the major issue with this club. Bayley Fritsch has an enormously punchable head. Oliver tied with Sicily for biggest [censored] in the AFL. Strange season. The best teams appear to be port, lions and suns. Weird. Cats and Dees teams look super ordinary. Pathetic Geelong. where do you start. jeez, we won........ i don’t care how...... Demons played attacking footy and lost...... i would rather play chip chip win than run and carry loss. Do we not remember the "beautiful losers" of the 80's-90's? Gawn had 2 goals kicked on him Dive Danger, dive. Chris Scott time to hand over the coaching roll to Scarlett
  5. Gawn - Game-style doesn't suit Viney - Sh?t footy brain Oliver - going backwards fast Petracca - reliably consistently inconsistent Tomlinson - Reject going nowhere Brayshaw - one good season Langdon - not the answer Salem - Pick 9 wasted Harmes - best is ordinary Hibberd - it's been said Melksham - is not Busustow Hannan - Footscray wins trade Rivers - definately worth persisting May - Play him forward Fritsch - good fourth stringer McDonald - Play him back Lockhart - making his way Lever - where's the leadership? Hunt - Goody can't coach Pickett - will play 200 Smith - lost in space vandenBerg - love him but . . .
  6. It's unlikely, but we might not score a goal all day.
  7. This is going to be a highly criticised view point, but somebody needs to call out the utter and rank ‘entitlement’ that underpins this request from the Club. It goes without saying on this forum that the MFC has, by-and-large, been appalling run for decades. Multiple cheating episodes and chronically bad management decisions, the latest of which was to sign-up an unproven coach for four years on an estimated 600K per year, have been the hallmarks of a dysfunctional organisation. The club continue to approach the supporters when its dreadful decisions, or lack of good decisions, bites it on the bum. This is yet another example of this. But this is what’s really *&%$ing with my head today. The average AFL player earns $350,000 per annum. And they squealed when the AFL asked them to take a 50 percent pay cut for a few months during lock-down. The average salary for a nurse is $65,000 while a teacher might earn $70,000. A junior doctor working in the emergency department of a major hospital receives just over $100,000 per year. Nurses are putting their lives on the line during the pandemic for what many would consider a wage that is close to subsistence living, particularly if one has a mortgage in Melbourne or Sydney and a couple of children. Then there are the millions of Australians who have either lost their job, or had their hours significantly reduced, and as a result, struggling to make ends meet. Granted, the Jobkeeper payment is of assistance, however many of these people are in industries that won’t ‘spring-back’ anytime soon and have no way of knowing what their earning capability will be after the 27 September 2020 when the program is due to be suspended. So forgive me if I have a sense that the Club’s request for a further financial contribution on this occasion has a strong air of insularity, entitlement and quite frankly, disrespectfulness and unreality about it. Rather than lobbying its chronically abused supporters again, how about lobbying the AFL, which is complicit in this cluster-&#$*, and seek to lead the whole footy industry in a different direction based on ethical behaviour and the care for our fellows in the community who really deserve assistance.
  8. Dean Kent just kicked the sealer for the Saints.
  9. So Simon is only three years behind trend?
  10. Agree PF. I don't think I've ever commented on selection previously. However the farcical nature of this team selection is beyond comprehension. Hannan, unfortunately, is a dud. Hibberd a headless chook. We all love Nev, and although it's sad to see him go, it's about the only selection decision that might be described as 'understandable'. How is TMac getting a friggin game? The turning circle of the Queen Mary and the on field footy smarts of Michael Gaffer. And we prefer him now to Jackson. And as for the dropping of Harley (pretty close to the only non-butcher at the club) . . . speechless.
  11. Dees mids run fwd of the ball and are poor defensive runners too. Could be a shoot out. Melbourne likely to be underdone. 1 match in, what, 12 weeks. If I played that fantasy footy thing Gawn would be my captain this week. Demons should win this and well. What have Melb ever done - well they won a premiership in 1964 - then won their opening 8 games in 65 ( and then spectacularly crashed ) and thats about it - havent done anything since of note Fort v Gawn. This won’t end well if the Dees mids turn up focused. Gawn will have 50 hit-outs, Fort may compete around the ground but he's a mile behind in ruck craft. We have no match for Gawn-->their MF will run hot. Is Melbourne even good? We'll probably get a typical game where Melbourne don't turn up. We win easy, Dangerfield, Selwood and Ablett will be all smiles, Rohan will get a hand-pass over the top in the last quarter and fist pump like he's won the flag (because he cares so much), and it'll be forgotten again. Surely Melbourne and Carlton aren’t going to be the ones to dictate our season, things can slip away too quickly this year. I’m confident we'll hammer Melbourne. Melbourne still have to prove to themselves as much as the football public how capable they are. On raw talent they're up there with anyone, but until they start doing it consistently, the question mark will (and should) remain. Demons are a bull at a gate type of team with players like Oliver, Viney & Brayshaw in the middle although the latter was moved out of the middle at times last year. They’ve brought in width with Langdon & Tomlinson, yet still butcher the ball going forward and run forward of the ball and get exposed the other way. If they put it together they can blow us away, yet they’re very inconsistent and poorly coached. They’re definitely a mood team. Constable had a day out against Melbourne last year. Wouldn't mind seeing that again. Don’t be surprised. Kolo down back, Blicavs into ruck, Sav up forward. Tigers dump 4 premiership players after a loss. What does Scott do? Gives Harry a rest and brings in even more defenders. Bloke is just too [censored]-weak to make a statement. This club under Chris Scott is a joke. I think it will Sav to ruck, Blicavs to full forward so we can take advantage of his kicking and marking prowess. And Melbourne will be too surprised to counter.
  12. Melbourne folded like cheap furniture against FC. We should ■■■■■■■ smash them. Gawn must be rolling on the floor laughing at Bellchambers today. Phillips needs to come in to provide more of a contest around the ground for Gawn. I’d consider two rucks against Gawn. May and Lever were apparently alright against Carlton. What do we do there? If we roll with the same forwards and play keep kicking it in long and high those two will eat us for breakfast. Phillips gets a look in as already mentioned, TBC needs a hand against Gawn who is a match winner. Who plays on Petracca? He’s in career best form and I reckon if we stop him having an impact we should win. He’s (Tracktor) a worry, one of the best players in the league atm on form. If he gets a worry let him go head to head with STRINGAR. Bringing in Ambrose is a must. He can play either on Tom McDonald or on Petracca. Concede the ruck, we need someone to go with gawn around the ground. The ruck - Oh dear we are in trouble against Gawn no matter what. Just make sure we nail these flogs and silence the media’s love affair with Petracca. Gawn will have 90 hitouts with 80 to a direct target. Gawn will tear Bellchambers two new ones without breaking a sweat. Who’s a better matchup for Petracca: Conor or Ambrose? We probably need to put extra time into Petracca and Oliver. None of our mids appear to be big enough to stand up to those players and they will get silver service from Gawn. The biggest problem is the ruck. Gawn is going to be a massive problem, not just in the hitouts but around the ground. Basically our best 22 is available bar Joe this week Petracca are not in Fyfe’s league Matchups: Petracca vs Heppell could be interesting or Ambrose comes in. Oliver vs Parish Salem vs Fantasia Brayshaw vs McGrath Viney vs Shiel May vs McKernan
  13. And they say we can't connect with our forward line. A metaphor perhaps?
  14. The man is an unacknowledged coaching genius. Who else would have thought to move Macca into the ruck or down to the backline? And how about the brilliant tactic of moving May onto Marc Pittonet for 10 minutes with the specific instruction to "rough him up"? And how about the brilliant mismatch he manufactured by placing Max in the forward pocket for 10 minutes in the third quarter? I mean this guy is clearly rewriting the global coaching handbook.
  15. We lost that game, they didn't win it. What an absolute disgrace. Melbourne are ******* ****ful. We had 5 chances to win the game..in a row...we f’ed them all. Melbourne completely ran out of legs after half time. When the game was full pace we were completely uncompetitive. No one to blame but ourselves McGovern [censored] me. Every game it's endless insipid efforts, then he'll put in a 10 minute burst of really good footy to ensure he's selected again the next week. This is exactly what adelaide fans didnt like about him. Melbourne will do nothing this year, FRAGILE. We’re a bottom 3 side, so are Melbourne. Melbourne are [censored] and we are ****ter, sorry I couldn't be more articulate in my summery. Eddie is finished I am sad to say...…. Was a passenger . One person beat us, well two actually, Teague and Gawn. Our avenue to goal, Long to the waiting arms of their ruck man. We got bent over and f’ed at the starting blocks. It’s looking like 0-3 which means season over. Disgusting, another spoon coming right up. Freo who are arguably in a worse position than us look a much better team. Tom McDonald towelled us up last time Weiters was real good. Pathetic. Margin is irrelevant. Bottom 4. Season over. Our players are soft. We need a new president that can develop a ruthless culture.
  16. Is the whole Geelong team going to be suspended because the they broke social distances rules after their first two goals against the Hawks tonight?
