  1. Possibly two visits to a grand final in seven years has something to do with it.
  2. Are you talking about the post game, on ground, interview with Sarah Jones @leave it to deever? I beg to differ. Clarry was the headline of the summer - like it or not. I think most of it was complete BS quite frankly - but it is what it is. Neither we, nor Clarry, can wish it away or pretend that millions of people aren't interested in Clarry's recent past. Sooner or later Clarry has to talk to the media. He's a superstar who generates clicks. I saw the interview as a positive. For example: Jones is a decent person who asked respectful questions about his summer Clarry answered the questions with dignity and honesty Max led, as usual, by riding shot-gun. Better Clarry re-enters the 'hyper pathologicalised' AFL world (yes, I'm talking about you Wilson, Cornes and Craig Fetishison) via Sarah Jones and Max than any other method IMHO.
  3. You'll probably find that he was "all alone and unattended" @picket fence.
  4. Good on ya OMac. I liked him and thought he certainly had the potential to make it. As Rubbish @binman Binny has said - if he makes it to 100 games, he can be very pleased with himself.
  5. Became a premiership player and represented the Big V when that meant something.
  6. If you wanna bring that kinda rational thinking to 'Land @COOLX, you better think again.
  7. This is funny. I must be watching a different team running around in the red and blue every week.
  8. I've worked it out. JVR and Tholstrup to the Shockers Shockers on trade to Meth Coke for Reid Meth Coke cut a deal with us for JVR, Tholstrup, Oscar Allen and their 2024 first round pick to us for Clarry. Fixed. (And thank you Bell end)
  9. I think his goals per game average at Melbourne were pretty similar to his career average. Just got him banged-up. When going, easily in the best 10 footballers I've seen play the game.
  10. I hope the recruiting department is monitoring 'Land - cos there's no way they would have conceived of this brilliant and cunning plan.
  11. This. We paid nowhere near Grundy's market value to get him to us. The fact we completely @#$%^& it up is a different issue. We also picked up BBB for a song and got Langers for a set of steak knives.
  12. This presents a strong case for a new rule (and the AFL loves those). Cheer Squad member/grandmother rule.
  13. I recall that Carey said Neeta was consistently his most difficult opponent.
  14. The dees have caused us problems since 2021 and we need to arrest their dominance over us. There's one thing we have going for us - it was reported last year that the side had discussed the Melbourne problem at some length since the most recent loss (Rd 1 2023) and are determined not to be Melbourne's b@#$%^& any more. Our team is vastly improved on paper where Melbourne has arguably gone backwards. They still have the best backline in the league in my opinion but we absolutely should be able to get them this year. Dogs by 21. JUH to kick a bag. We need Lobb to play May defensively. If we can do this we are big chance to win. I can't see how this Melbourne forward line could kick a winning score. Fritsch worries me the most. Lock away him and Pickett and we win. Their forward line looked abysmal so they might try McDonald this week. I’d be surprised if Schache survives that game, he was no good. Dees had no aerial impact up forward. McDonald and Fullerton were both emergencies and I imagine one or both come in with Schache out. Their marking forwards don't bother me at all. Their ground ball game does concern me. A lot of grubby ground balls coming in from Sydney, May and Lever didn’t have much influence. They'll drop Schache for McDonald or Sideshow Bob ... or both. And floppy Bob usually bumbles his way to a few flukey goals Would love to see one of our boys clean up that campaigner Pickett for once. Picket? phtttt. This is the game that fritsch circles on his calendar. Someone needs to make fritch their b*&^%$. I’d bank on Harmes tagging Petracca. He always cuts us up. Fritsch kicked six on us in a grand final, with Brown McDonald and Jackson kicking a collective 6 as well. Last year Brown kicked 4 on us and so did Pickett though we were a shambles, worse than 2022 where Brown kicked 3. Well last year I had to watch Alex Keath try and run down Pickett right in front of my seats in the cheer squad so there’s already one scenario that isn’t happening this year. Rather Demons have won the other night, they will be super hungry to prove a point.
  15. I don't need to read it. He mainly talks c#%p and has done so for years.
  16. I haven't read the article. I loved Brereton as a player, but I'm just wondering: How long has it been since he stepped foot inside club-land? Oh, that's right. 18 years. How long since he worked in a recruitment department? Never. When did he last coach an Australian rules football side? Never. Many many rule changes effecting recruitment since he retired? Right again - dozens. What is he paid to do these days? Oh, that's right, talk c%*p. I'll read an article about our unaddressed recruitment problems when someone credible writes such.
  17. You say we failed @ignition.. Be specific. What did we fail at exactly? Not getting a King? Not getting Curnow? Not getting one of the Footscray guys? What exactly did we fail at?
  18. Early dayz - but it's going to be hard to beat this for post of the year.
  19. It seems like the conditions were different depending on where one was sitting. I was in the stand behind the goals in the top deck. The humidity was appalling. Many people around me were using their floggers to fan themselves. It was pretty awful.
  20. Yes indeed - I've just had a look at his stats. I wonder if my skewed view of his game was influenced by some good work he did in front of me. I was seated in the forward pocket. Plus the fact I've had a man-crush on him since he arrived at the club.
  21. Langdon was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise horrid night.
  22. I deleted the post. Stupid question from QD.
  23. I deleted the first post. Stupid question from QD.
  24. I actually like it @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew. But don't tell other 'Landers that.
