POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
What stage are you at? The five stages of grief, as outlined by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. These stages are a framework to understand common emotional reactions to loss, but they are not necessarily linear or experienced by everyone. Grief is a personal experience, and individuals may experience these stages in different orders, or not at all, and may even revisit stages. Here's a breakdown of the five stages: 1. Denial: This stage involves a temporary refusal to accept the reality of the loss. It can manifest as disbelief or shock. 2. Anger: As the reality of the loss sinks in, anger may arise. This can be directed at oneself, others, or even a higher power. 3. Bargaining: In this stage, individuals may try to negotiate with a higher power or fate, often in an attempt to regain what was lost. 4. Depression: This stage involves feelings of profound sadness, hopelessness, and withdrawal as the reality of the loss fully sets in. 5. Acceptance: This is not necessarily a happy stage, but rather an acknowledgement of the loss and a movement towards integrating it into one's life. Important Considerations: Not linear: Individuals may cycle through these stages, experience them in different orders, or not experience all of them. Personal experience: Grief is a highly personal journey, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Other emotions: Other emotions such as sadness, guilt, and anxiety can also be part of the grieving process. Seeking support: It's important to seek support from friends, family, or a therapist if you are struggling with grief. Beyond death: The five stages can also apply to other types of loss, such as the end of a relationship or job.

NON-MFC: Round 19
I tried to follow that sentence but got trapped in a father-son-cat-draft-premiership wormhole. By the time I emerged, it was 2051, Louis Gawn had just retired with three Brownlows and two Colemans in his kit bag, and we were still debating our 2022 list strategy and the merits of drafting Jack Watts with pick one. Pass the spaghetti — I need carbs to survive that syntax.

NON-MFC: Round 19
He's a member of a class of well remunerated tall forwards known as 'b-graders'. Members include Membery, McStay, McLean, Darling and Marshall. They all have similar career stats and drive their clubs supporters nuts. They also have a disturbing pattern of playing in premierships.

NON-MFC: Round 19
Reminds me of my teenage years Ghosty.

NON-MFC: Round 19
I watch the Dogs most weeks. I recon he's been 1 or 2 percent off his best for a few weeks. So he's the best player in the comp by only half the length of the Flemmington straight now.

NON-MFC: Round 19
It's pathetic isn't it? All was lost when they got rid of the lab coats. Up until then they were the most trusted of community members.

NON-MFC: Round 19
absolutely. Read it on the internet.

NON-MFC: Round 19
Risky tip Ghosty. But like your bravery. And I know you'll also like this . . . Jack Dyer went to the National Gallery of Victoria for a publicity visit. Being introduced to the gallery curator Jack said "You've done a terrific job on the lawns".

NON-MFC: Round 19
Me mate is mad Norf, but like us 'Landers, detests Essendscum, Filth, Horeforn, Pork Barell Park, Carltank, etc, etc, etc. He recons staying home and watching the footy on Essendscum and Carltank nights is brilliant.

NON-MFC: Round 19
This is one of probably two dozen reasons they've had to bring Swann and Thing-a-me-Bob in to City Hall. Current regime NFI about footy matters.

NON-MFC: Round 19
2022 is proving an ordinary draft - the first four will be stars though.

Simon Goodwin SEN Interview 17.07.2025
Absolutely this. I stopped listening to him 18 months ago — figured if he ever said something interesting, it’d spark a club-wide review, an AFL Integrity Unit probe, land on the Commission’s agenda, get a mention in Parliament, and kick off a Royal Commission chaired by Kelli Underwhelming herself.

Where is Fritta Going?
Cool - let's swap him for Cam Rayner.

Severe reality adjustment required. Major attitude problem.

Time to go Goody?
We’ve missed more sitters than a dodgy babysitting agency. If the coach can’t fix the kicks, he should be packing his boots, not polishing them.
-
Time to go Goody?
Correct. The main purpose of a presa is to talk to the players.

Time to go Goody?
Bit close to the bone - sounds like the title to my autobiography.
