Yeah, an interesting one Deeman. I would have thought Vulture Street as well. The address according to their website is Stanley Street.

What they're saying down at Stanley Street
Max Gawn could be an issue both in the ruck and around the ground. Gawn will destroy him in the ruck and around the ground. Max Gawn will feast this week. Not much we can do about that. Around the ground Gawn actually will damage us. If Gawn does completely dominate centre bounces/stoppages, you play man on man with the opposition players around Gawn to restrict the smallls taking it away with little pressure on them. I hope Archie has been practising his spoils his week - if he's able to mitigate Gawn's marking it'll be huge. Archie has a massive task ahead of him. Almost want him to basically tag Gawn around the ground and not let him dominate in that area. The Demons are pretty much relying solely on the brilliance of Gawn and Petracca and those two are playing that well at the moment that they are quite literally able to carry the Demons. Gawn, Petracca, Oliver and Bennell all fit and firing simultaneously can challenge any side in the league. Everything else I'm not confident about this one. I think Melbourne might surprise a few this season after their terrible start and this is their statement game. I can see Melbourne winning this one. They have no real key forwards of concern but their smalls and their pace generally could worry us at Metricon. Petracca will be the big factor of who wins. Oliver can also lift the Demons and carry them home. I am genuinely concerned that we don’t play Metricon particularly well. I’m really looking forward to watching Harley Bennell. That guys been to hell and back and deserves any success that comes his way. If Harley Bennell can stay fit for the rest of this season and find some form he could be the game breaker for them. Such an insanely good talent. Viney was very good from what I saw last game too. Interesting they brought Jones in. Jones is a big in for us. Old and slow. Our boys in the middle should run rings around him. I don't think the Jones inclusion is such a good thing for us. He is an old head and in a slog, he can work smarter. Key match-ups McInerney & Smith v Gawn & Jackson Lyons v Petracca Berry v Viney Neale v Oliver Zorko v Harmes McCluggage v Jones Robinson v Langdon Bailey v Brayshaw

Gawn - best since Dempsey? Viney - still a worry Petracca - continues good season Jetta - changing his role May - really dumb footballer McDonald - growing in statue Salem - still under achieving Hibberd - probably earned money Melksham - talent not realised Fritsch - better playing higher Jackson - should play weekly Pickett - exciting and important Bennell - our best disposer vandenBerg - not the worst Brayshaw - what has happened? Oliver - disastrous disposal again Hannan - some interesting cameos Weideman - headology the problem Harmes - goodness gracious me Langdon - becoming a key Others - missed by Joeboy Goodwin - was only Hawthorn

What they're saying down at Glenferrie Road
Scully needs to stick tackles and hit targets at a minimum. Melbourne are a pretty physical side and with 3 ex Dees playing for us, I expected the game to have a fair bit of niggle in it. Melbourne are little like North to me; love to get real physical regardless of where the game is at and sometimes to the detriment of their movement. Looks like we get to see Scully squib a few more contests! Patton looks out of shape too, body is wrecked, move him on. (Selection) Very frustrating. We continue to play Henderson and Scully. Gawn has constantly pantsed BB (McEvoy) over his career, and we have no one even close to Gawn's height apart from Ceglar on our entire list but if he's injured so be it. Hendo, Scully , Smith and Morrison in same team. Melbourne have nothing to match it. If we can't beat Melbourne then serious questions need to be asked of the club across the board. At the moment I'd settle for Melbourne's game plan, it's manic and not very effective but at least it looks like they are doing something. If we get trounced by Melbourne, then I would hope for a clean out and just play the younger guys. The Scully experiment is done now. He can run all day sure, but he is just about the softest player I have seen put on a hawks jumper. Melbourne can’t score either so we are in for another eye sore. Get ready for “worst game of all time” media reports post game. The loser of this game is going to cop it. Melbourne are super slow and not skilful. They have Gawn who is awesome. But aside from him they are not a good side. I think we will win. But the score line might challenge that Richmond Swans beauty. Viney, Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw, Harmes is a very good midfield. May and Lever. They've got talent everywhere. That midfield has terrible skills. Viney, Oliver and Brayshaw are accumulators but burn merchants. They are not damaging. Petracca can be dangerous - until half time when he runs out of puff every week. Terribly unfit but talented. Gawn is quite easily the best player in either side and will tear Ceglar to shreds though. Hasn’t done much yet but have you seen some of the searing pressure that young Pickett puts on? It will be an interesting matchup between him and dare I say Dimma. Hawks need a smaller backline. Especially against Melbourne who have no key forwards. Petracca has been tremendous this season. No running out of puff and is putting in four quarter efforts. He's a different player now. The rest are tough nut hackers though, much like Mitchell, Worpel and to a lesser extent JOM. Their midfield is the equal of ours in terms of hardness (JOM, Mitch, Shiels and Worpel = Viney, Oliver, Harmes and Brayshaw). They are using their most dynamic player in the middle and he's been huge this season. We need to throw Wingard back in there or around the packs at least to match it. They've also got Gawn who will destroy Ceglar, and have some KPF targets to kick to. Weids And McDonald have played like 2 and a half good games since the end of 2018. Fritsch caused our defence issues last time.

Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
Loved what Weightman did last night . . . and it shows that many posters on 'Land were spot on in November last year. Having said that, I'm convinced we got it right with our early picks in 2019 . . . although time will obviously be the better judge of that.

Two Metre Peter
Give them the whole player list in return for King, Rowell and Rankin.

McCartin - should we consider recruiting him ??
with so many 'Landers saying 'no', I'm inclined to think it's a good idea.

- CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Um . . . it's relevant to the thread topic. Goodwin time and again has shown his ineptitude at the selection table. There is a reasonable chance it will happen.- What they're saying up at Surfer's Paradise
Seriously right? Over on their FB page, they are ropeable about the umpiring.- CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
If Goodloss has his way, Harley misses.- My 3 word player analysis V Gold Coast
Melbourne - little has changed. Gawn - loose without him. Goodloss - will be delusional.- What they're saying up at Surfer's Paradise
If we can’t beat Melbourne then the season doesn’t look promising. Lol May. He's absolutely melting under pressure. Pretty good considering we gave them 8 goals from awful use out of def 50. Should've beaten those muppets. Played against Melbourne and the umpires tonight. Another reality check, still a bottom 4 side. Gawn just tapped it to Melbourne mids at will out of the middle. Forini is comfortably worst on ground. Lazy and [censored] weak. Gawn is an awesome player, but seriously Witts is ******** aweful. Melbourne playing like a team that has had the media riding and questioning them all week. This mob has it all over us. Credit to Dees, we were trying to scratch it out but Dees pressure was awesome. Their effort was great. They just kept kicking out to Gawn and he kept marking it. Need to at least contest better. Dude (Max) is a weapon. This is looking like 2019 all over again.- AFL Broadcasting article
I'm a film maker. Everything written in the article is accurate IMHO. It goes without saying on 'Land that the game is appallingly covered by the broadcasters and commentary is horrific. Try explaining the game to an American just from what's shown on the television. It's impossible. Now go to the ground and explain it during play. Immediate understanding. It beggars believe that channel 7 have tried to bring us 'sounds of the game' (i.e. a player miked up on the ground) and the player doesn't say anything. This is a worthwhile innovation, but requires the player to verbalise his/her thought patterns while playing the game. Imagine a player 'sneaking out the back' as the play is unfolding up the field and hearing their commentary instead of Bruce and Taylor taking pot-shots at each other? It'd be brilliant, but the AFL is just not interested in innovation. Never has been. Pathetic really. Secondly, why arn't players and umpires fitted with cameras? The AFL played around with this some years ago and dropped it. It all became just too hard I suspect. It would have involved thinking to really make it work. Imagine a struggle in the goal square shot in 4K from the goal umpire's viewpoint with accompanying audio? Thirdly, get rid of commentary as we currently understand it. Wire all players, runners, doctors, trainers and umpires with audio and find the world's best sound engineers and sense-makers and put them in the control box. Their mandate is to bring us the best audio feeds that explains the game from the participant's perspective as it's unfolding. We'd know why Jonathon Patton is distressed rather than commentators speculating for 15 minutes and being 100 miles off the mark. Unfortunately, this type of innovation is unlikely to happen. When left to their own devices, the AFL (and particularly the players' thinking) and the broadcasters move at snails pace.- If we lose to the Suns, I will....
Trawl Demonland for answers.- Demons offer Clarkson 5 year deal [2011]
(This aged extremely well.)- Demons offer Clarkson 5 year deal [2011]
There is a chance Clarkson will be politely asked to 'retire' by the Dawks at about the same time Goodloss is out of contract. If he was gettable in 2022 . . . do we want him?- NON MFC: Round 06
Clearly do not understand footy.- Kayo $5 for 2 Months
