Farewell Sam Weideman
Generally, the knowledgeable supporter has been spot on about Hawthorn's recruiting for the last five years.

Farewell Sam Weideman
Your point is well made deanox. Problem for us: the market is likely to offer a lot more for his services than us. Some mob will offer him 50 percent more and he'd be mad not to take it quite frankly.

What they're saying down at Lulie Street
Their honesty Outside of a one-point loss to the hands of the Crows at the Adelaide Oval, the Melbourne Demons could not have started this season much better than what they have. It took some convincing, but the football public has seemingly come to terms with the fact that Melbourne, unusually, just aren't that bad of a side anymore. Just think putting Lynch up against Gawn we might see him disintegrate before our very eyes. You could lock Gawn in now for the three votes if heโs up against Lynch. SCG: Save us going to watch us get Deestroyed Live. Not expecting much from this one. If we get this game down to a goal or two in the end I'll be impressed. Watching Carlton [censored] the bed against WC yesterday was made somehow less enjoyable because it was at the SCG. Such a crap oval. Their tactics Roughead will again have his hands full, likely facing off against the meat-eating-machine, Tom McDonald. Moore should take Weideman or the resting ruck. I would personally play Maynard on Fritsch, Quaynor on Pickett and Noble on Spargo. Our Mids should Rove Gawn's Taps like other teams done to Grundy. Cox has to come in. Lynch was okay but Cox can nullify Gawn and play forward. I assume Pendles might have to take the Oliver job. Maybe Crisp for Petracca. Is our dogs breakfast game plan [strangle-ball] better suited to SCG in this instance, as opposed to attempting a shoot-out, or even keeping pace with Dreamons on the MCG? Their anxiety Kosi Pickett a worry. McCreery needs to shut down Salem. Play Pendles on Gawn when he rests forward? We kicked 1 goal after QT against Sydney on this ground a few weeks back. Gawn and Jackson duo is a big worry for us if Grundy canโt get up. Playing top side in the comp โwhat are our chances folks? Their delusion We can win this. I just canโt see how we lose this game. Who stops Petracca though? A shame we delisted Wills, he would have been perfect for that role. Their schadenfreude Hurts Melbourne in their wallet = tick. Their trolls It might have been a good chance to pilot playing this fixture at Mt Kosciuszko, with a view to putting it at Hotham Heights when there is no pandemic - it is a Demons leg-up game, after all. Poor Deeeees fans, the MCC toffs, cant have their usual chardonnay, Pimms, brandy lime and soda, plus their cucumber sandwiches, in their usual plush surrounds. Pressure all on Melb, nobody will take us seriously, so maybe an upset brewing, Crows did beat em. Love to beat this mob, then their fans, being in Sydney, can head to the snowfields of Mt Kossie, which is obviously be a lot closer than the usual ski chalets of Mt Buller here.

Rating 2021 team Against 1998, 2000 & 2018
We've had significantly better attacks, and if we are going to be undone this year, it will be because we can't kick enough goals. But this is the best defence and centre-square set up I've seen in 45 years.

Is Jack Viney an automatic inclusion?
You mean is the player who has for years been in the top 20 percent of players in the comp across 80 percent of the vital statistics get a game with us? Obviously not.

Itโs time to say itโฆ
I was sitting on the wing last night with my friend Brad (also a poster on 'Land). It was during the last quarter and I turned to him with a tear in my eye and reflectively, with an inner gratefulness, stated: this is the best four I've ever seen in a centre square during my time following Melbourne. We were running down the Lions and the square contained Max, Oliver, Tractor and Harmes. We have had good centre lines in my time, but certainly nothing like a centre bounce engine room remotely as good as this. And Viney isn't even in the side ATM. It's quite remarkable.

COVID & AFL 2021
Fancy the Pres of the club placed 17th on the ladder suggesting the season be called off. Would have nothing to do with the fact youโre now the worse drafting club over the last 10 years would it? What a complete *^%# %{+*#%.

Eight Dees in Robbo's All-Australian team
I take your point DeeSpencer. May leads both in disposals and clearances despite playing one less game. Both Keath and Weitering lead May in the stats that tend to be led at the Deez by Lever such as intercept marks. Keath commits far less clangers than either May or Weitering but handles the ball a lot less. So it's a tight call. Weitering, despite playing for Carltank, is certainly a much improved player.

Eight Dees in Robbo's All-Australian team
Just wondering, who's been a consistently better six foot five back than May?

Kerry Stokes is no dill. In an increasing fragmented marketplace, Seven West Media is performing reasonably well compared to similar businesses. He knows his constituency pretty well. Taylor would be on reasonable coin. Brayshaw on about the same but contracted to do double the work, not sure on the others.

Just off the top of my head, reasons to detest . . . Filth Eddie, eddie, eddie, Mark 'insolvency specialist' Korda who's overseen the insolvency of their football team and the ineligibility of a new board member, Joffa (enough said). Armaggedon Hird's arrogance, denial and hubris that will have completely broken the club for a generation, Sheedy (on the board now), Lloyd. Horethorn Geoff "we are a couple of drafts away from being really good" Cennett. Jef "I am available to be president of Melbourne" Kenete. Jeoff "We'll review Clarko on a year to year basis" Kenit.

If: E = mc2 is wrong (I know, there's a question mark this week), Michael Jackson wasn't a weirdo, and Buddy Franklin is a good full-back, then Port Adelaide were are switched on.

Taylor polls well with Filth and Bunt road. It's all about the money.

Where will we play the Lions?
Taking the financial and footy perspective into account: by far the best outcome for the club is Canberra, assuming the stadium can be made available at short notice. I understand Manuka has the lowest cost base of all the capital city venues, meaning we walk away with reasonable dollars (given the circumstances), even if the stadium's half empty. I can't think of a place BrisVagas would prefer to play less. Five degrees centigrade at 9:35 pm will suite them a lot less than us. Vagas have never played at Manuka - advantage us. Plus it's about time they did some Covid heavy lifting after their soft ride last year. the Manuka surface is in tip top shape given the low (ish) number of matches played at the ground so far this season. Both clubs could have a training run on Thursday and a light jog and a kick on Friday, if they so desire, and the surface would presumable hold up well. We have very good recent form at the ground . . . virtually a home track for us! Most Dee games played at the ground (eight) have pulled better than the venue's overall average crowd numbers.
