  3. This. I actually went to the Osho (i.e. Bhagwan Shri Rajneesh) Ashram 20 years ago DG. Very helpful for keeping the Demon dream alive.
  4. It's just occurring to me that the fact there is so little discussion about the game on the GWS forums says so much about this still-born, catastrophe of an organisation.
  5. Great work with the site Andy. It's much appreciated. I'll transfer some cash. QD.
  6. Absolutely nothing worth reporting. (Sorry for this post Mods . . . just don't want 'Landers to think I wasn't on the job tonight!)

  12. What did those muppets say that hasn't been said on this forum ad infinitum? Absolutely nothing new. Many on here are much smarter and more astute at observing the game and Melbourne's problems.
  13. Jesse There were rumours on here that we are into Brody Mihocek. Tom Browne says Collingwood are interested in Jesse Hogan. We've all put a lot of time into feeding Cornes' Hogan to Essendon idea. If Hogan can find it in him to you know actually kick a goal maybe we might all start getting off his back. Top 5 paid at the club and we're all satisfied with his output. Don't worry about goals Hoges, just keep taking contested marks on the wing over Baker's head (175cm). Excellent return on investment. If Hogan and Lobb were kicking 40/30 goals each I'd be open to trading Tabs. But they're not. Both seem mentally shot when it comes to kicking at the big sticks. Hogan’s biggest issue is Tabs. You don’t see Kennedy run in front of Darling or Darling run in front of Kennedy. Tabs just gets in every other forwards way. The amount of times he spoils Lobb, bowls over Schultz and cuts off leads is a joke. Hogan has done fu** all for us in two years. He's the one that needs to get out of the way. When was the last time he kicked a goal?? It's starting to look like a pretty bad decision to get Hogan instead of King and Hill. King especially looks like a damn good player for the next 10 years. We'd be moronic to even consider trading him, would be one of the dumbest moves we've ever made if we did. Hogan runs down the ground into space but as he starts to turn Taberner had already thrown the ball onto his boot and straight into the a rms of a Melbourne player. We works his [censored] off on the field, keep him in and the cohesion will build. Melbourne are playing for their season. So expect a walk over. Hogan will be off the leash. Hogan will go off against Melbourne tomorrow, just got a feeling. Everything else Seven changes for Melbourne?? Aren’t they still in the mix for a finals spot? No need to make changes. We are clearly going far better than what I thought we were!!! Yeah the teams lost 3 of their last 4 games, we're flying. Langdon's kicking is still nightmarish, feel bad for Melbourne supporters. Melbourne are coming off a 4 day break. Got embarrassingly beaten by Sydney. Of course they were going to bring changes. But 7? That could be overkill, upset the whole chemistry or the team. Big outs for Melbourne. Angus Brayshaw, Jones, Harmes, Wagner, Brown. Pretty meh Ins. Press maybe tall, but we have a huge chance at a win here. Conca straight to Petracca? Or Oliver perhaps? I'd expect Melbourne to be less complacent but a win for us here is important for morale. Melbourne and finals type conditions do not go together. Been watching a bit of Melbourne lately. May is in some good form so Taberner will have to play a blinder. May does really well to edge the Key forward too far ahead of the drop of the ball, but I think Tabs is a pretty good judge of the flight of the ball and he's got the strength to hold his own. Petracca is on fire lately, will be an interesting matchup whoever he gets. Melbourne very hit and miss. Look like trash against Sydney right now. Feel like we might match up fairly well against them. Melbourne are so crap. Expect them to come out breathing fire. Tabs vs Lever and Hogan vs Day would be great. Tabs should dominate Lever. Both midfield stack up. Tabs, Hogan and Lobb experiment should continue. Either we're too tall, or our crumbers aren't up to it. We need to figure out what's going on in our fwd half.
  14. The Glen Iris thirds in '78 were pretty fragile.

  16. What a great read. Many astute observations. Thanks for getting the conversation going Optimus D. Went to school with Jamie Duursma. He was a very ordinary player back then. So I have enormous respect for him as it must have taken a huge amount of work to play one VFL game . . . let alone carve out a very respectable career. BTW . . . I think he was the first player, and possibly the only one, to play for all three east coast capital city clubs. Quite an achievement indeed! I remember watching Graham Gaunt as a teenager. He carved up the Royal Parade Cheats on the MCG one day in a brilliant display. Overall though . . . our foreign legion has been more miss than hit it must be said.
  17. Clearly we’ve stuffed it up again Osilik. You’re on the money. We don’t need 10 years to observe the career paths of both players to make a call on this one.
  18. Max Gawn just had two weeks off. Has anyone ever had triple figures in hit outs? Do you really want to debut Amartey against Gawn? Everything else Melbourne have won 4 of their last 5. They've got 5 midfielders who are at the top of their games in Petracca, Viney, Gawn, Oliver and Langdon (the last of whom has really come in the last month) as well as Steven May who is a dominant force at FB now. Good test against an experienced, in form side but I don't have us as an impossible bet in this. If we bring our intensity again we can trouble Melbourne who are not consistent or reliable yet in my mind. We will get smacked!! Keep it within 4 goals and that's a win for us. Melbourne are seriously average with their two way running and defensive pressure. Our guys who like to run will have a field day with all the time and space the Dees will afford them. With the Hawks furiously tanking, Pick 3 is in jeopardy. I can’t see us winning another game with the games ahead. It’s the kind of game that the hapless Demons tend to stuff up with monotonous regularity. Melbourne if they are half decent should see this week as a bit of a percentage booster unfortunately for us. Melbourne are not that good, but we're definitely worse. If we stay in the game for the first half I think they'll get scared. Melbourne besides poor performances against the Bulldogs and the Power have been very competitive in most games this year. They are clearly the better side, but imo, are weak as [censored]. Lucky to beat St Kilda and beat up teams worse than themselves. We are worse but are not as weak, so if we can stay in the fight and not get blown away, Melbourne can definitely lose it for us. Melbourne are soft as, just pretenders.. Can definitely win this.. I'd love nothing more if our boys beat them and stuffed up finals for them.. If we're in it at half time (either <12 points down) i reckon we'll win. It is Melbourne after all. Interested to see how Fritsch goes - he might be in Red & White next year.
  19. Magnificent understanding of the obvious there DMMA.
  20. Gawn – turns it over May - best game ever Langdon – pleased he’s ours Oliver – Lets himself down Petracca – Best since who? Salem – for f*&ks sake Rivers – 200 games here Hibberd – Makes me nervous Wagner – Good VFA player Brown – Better than TMac Brayshaw – Do more damage Tomlinson – What’s his ROI? Viney – Try Rugby League Melksham – Doesn’t hurt them Jones – Not the worst Lever – Almost getting there Weideman – Grandfather a p$%*k! McDonald – Compliments May/Lever Spargo – Spargo no go vandenBerg – Try Rugby Union Hannan – Bring Harley in Pickett – Needs a rest
  21. FWIW . . . Frost's stats are certainly no better in 2020 than 2019. As I have said elsewhere over the last two-three years . . . Whorethorn are in a world of pain. They have a very bleak 10 years in front of them. Sam should continue to get a game there for the rest of his career.
  22. I can hear all the naysayers getting on this thread and winging and bitching about alleged form lapse, win-at-all costs, gifting games . . . . . blah, blah, blah. Absolutely pathetic. I hear about club culture and how pathetic our culture is every other day on this forum. The man is an all time great of the club. Will not make a team of the century, but a heart and soul player in an era of absolute clustering f*&%$ing. And club cultures are built around players who are warriors, never take a backward step, never need to be dropped for being late to training. These are called standards. High standards make organisations great. Jones had been our standard bearer for 14 years. For the next 50 years, when the Deez bring impressionable young recruits into the club, we want to be able to point a players like Jones and say . . . . "this is what it means to be a Dee". Loyal, fierce and a great human being. Clubs are built on the exploits of greats who struggled to 300 games. Bourke, Newman, Moore, Breen, Scott, Bartel and of course our own David Neitz. Let's not f#%& ourselves again and leave a guy who is on 290 something games, sacrificed on some misguided belief he doesn't deserve a game. He deserves the games between now and 300 because it's what builds culture, loyalty, leadership and the aura of frères d'armes. Let's not be the club that elevates some wacky, fundamentalist, pop-phycho belief over culture and loyalty. Jones needs to get to 300 games, not for Nathan, but for the long term good of the MFC. (And finally, there are still powerful forces in Sydney that to this day regret leaving 'The Tilt', a similar style of player to Nathan, on 293 games.)
  23. Kane Cornes . . . Doesn’t understand the laws of the game Obsessed with his own image Has a cross hanging in the background Doesn’t watch the games he comments on Contradicts himself every week Vacuous, fatuous and asinine . . . sprouts out the last thought that crosses his mind Complete and absolutely no idea of the 2020 game and the way it’s played
