  1. Just what we need - another negative thread. Of course we could go backwards. Anything is possible after all, But really, what's the point of asking people to comment on this? Before you know it we'll have 70 or 80 pages of tripe from all the negative Nellies out there. Did you really mean that without Cale Morton we might go backwards? Hard to replace this...
  2. No. More like what the Vikings used to do to their unsuspecting victims.
  3. She needs to be sacked. Perhaps, in the historical sense of the word.
  4. In the end it was always a bit of a punt. We took a chance and it didn't work out. Move on - let the man deal with his issues and if he makes it back to footy, well, good luck to him. He would have gotten in the way of Clark, Dawes, Pederson and Hogan anyway. He would have been in danger of being steamrollered every time the ball came inside 50. He's better off out of it.
  5. Hey Old Dee, I thought I was winning you over to the side of optimism. You seem to be backsliding my friend. Is it the diet?
  6. Huh? Zero evidence? There seems to be quite a bit from where I sit. We've turned over the list in no uncertain terms. We've recruited players to fill key roles. We've drafted good young talent. Training intensity seems to have been stepped up and from all reports the players are responding. This is clear evidence that Neeld is building something real. If you mean that there is no evidence in terms of results, well, no sh!t Sherlock. It's November. We are building a team to win games and instilling a new culture of professionalism. This takes time but surely you can see the evidence of it taking place?
  7. When does a "final comment" become an ongoing discussion? He's gone. Let it be. The future is bright. Let's focus on the guys on our list who want to be there and are willing to do what's required. Gysberts had his chance to be part of something great but chose to buy out. Thus he was sent on his way. No loss. Go Dees!
  8. Just bring it on. 2013 - the year we start the climb back to greatness. Go Dees!
  9. Absolutely. Easybeats no more. It's going to be a grand old flag again. Go Dees!
  10. Okay, I've been quiet for a couple of weeks but now it's time for everybody to get on board. The future looks so much brighter than it has in years. Surely there can't be any pessimists out there tonight. C'mon, Tonatopia let's see you talk this one down. Where are you Old Dee? Crack open the single malt and have a tipple with me. Welcome aboard Jimmy Toumpas! Go Dees!
  11. C'mon, Old Dee - I thought we were going to be positive. Optimism my friend. Optimism!
  12. Full game =2 x 20 min Quarters : Midweek games (night games only) . 4 Weekend Games (late start- Day / and Night games) How can you have two twenty minute quarters?
  13. Oh really? Talk about tenuous links to nothing of any substance. Journalism? Was there nothing else happening in the world more worthy of coverage than this twaddle? FMD!
  14. Attaboy! Glory days return. Go Dees!
  15. Hey come on Old Dee. I thought we agreed that single malt whisky was the way to go.
  16. Here you go Deemachine. Go crazy here.
  17. There's an "Optimists Only" thread. This should be in that there. Absolutely valid and reasonable logic. At this point anything is possible.
  18. We lost that game by 47 points. Is he suggesting Jurrah would have kicked another eight goal to win the game? Give me a break. It was never a game we were in danger of winning.
  19. I heard the tank ran over her. It didn't want to, it just didn't have enough fuel to go around her.
  20. Why should they give oxygen to this bunch of sensationalist hacks? What do they have to answer. No charges have been laid nor accusations levelled. We have nothing to comment on at this stage. Why don't you make your agenda transparent? Either put up or shut up. Better still, just go away.
  21. Thanks PRB. I thought I was the only one out here. With all that's happening at the moment it's easy to forget that we will still be playing football next year and that we do have the chance to shut up some of the critics. The AFL will do what they wish, as they always do, but the MFC will roll on. Let them fine us, take away draft picks, punish individuals - whatever. If it results in a clean-out at the top and a fresh start, well so be it. I'm only interested in what goes on out on the ground. I'm looking forward to next year and seeing a team that will wear the bruises proudly and hand back as many as it gets. No more [censored] footy. Now is the time for all of us to get behind Neeld and the boys who will turn this club around. Out of adversity comes strength. We will always be the Melbourne Football Club. Go Dees!
  22. How come Brendan Fevola gets capital letters and none for God?
  23. What do you like about the club? Go on, just for me, say something nice about someone or something.
  24. I've been holding off bringing this thread back but I think it's time. Obviously, opinion is divided. Change will do that I guess. We can't deny that something radical needed to happen. Recent years have been heart breaking and something had to give. Enter Mark Neeld. Time will tell if this audacious man has what it takes to restore our fortunes, but he sure won't die wondering. At a time like this we can choose optimism, pessimism or we can sit on the fence. I believe that the first two are contagious. but only one of them has the potential to be a positive force. Our club needs positive supporters and the energy their optimism brings. Get on board folks. Go Dees!
