One thing's for sure, it's going to be compulsory viewing of the twitter feed of the tribunal as to what Gaffs lawyer comes up with. Due to the outcome based adjudication in these cases, he's gone for the year. However the case put forward by the WCE lawyers will be instrumental in how Gaff is able to resurrect his image and continue to play footy. It was bad and I feel terrible for Brayshaw but I'm adamant that Gaff isn't a thug. It doesn't change my opinion that the MFC would benefit greatly from his services.

The way some of you are carrying on indicates you’ve never played a game of footy in your life. If you think Gaff aimed for Brayshaws head with that punch then you’re mistaken. I’m not condoning the action at all but I can understand how these things can happen in an instant. Gaff was clearly mortified by what he did and again I’m not condoning it - he deserves to go for weeks but I strongly believe the blow was not an intentional one directed to Brayshaws head. Gaff isn’t a thug in my opinion but today he committed a very poorly timed hit that resulted in a terrible outcome of injuries for young Brayshaw. I still want him at the MFC next year because he’s a great player of very good character. What happened today was a combination of a brain fade and unfortunate timings.

Gaff just punched out young Brayshaw. A couple weeks for sure.

He was hobbling around after being injured in last nights game but I’m assuming he was fit enough to play otherwise he wouldn’t have been picked. Now can you comment on his form?

Not so incredible at the moment... Is he playing sore as well as down on confidence? Double grabbing of the ball, dropped marks, poor decisions, etc. Hopefully he can get on the end of a few against the Suns and regain some much needed form.

I don’t care what we pay for him. With Jones, Lewis and Vince in the twilight of their careers, we’ll need to get younger legs into the team now. Whilst he’s no Josh Kelly, Gaff is far superior to any other gut-running mids with above average skills and a very handy inside game. Must get it done.

With McGovern just signing for 5 years, surely the piggy bank must be emptying quickly at the Eagles... HAs to increase the likelihood that Gaff may leave.

We're going to find it difficult to match an RFA offer of that magnitude if true. Two first rounders for Lever has 'hamstrung' our trade hand as well so we're up against it.

Brayshaw won't leave. At the start of the year I thought he was trade bait, midway through the year I thought he was getting plenty of ball but being wasteful, rushed and turning it over badly. Now there's a level of composure and a familiar position to play in given he has regained confidence from his concussion issues. He's gonna be a jet and a must keep for our flag tilts.

He's been slugged with another $2K fine so I reckon his missus won't be in a rush to bu him a new golf driver for fathers day. Wonder if he'll challenge it?
