I've rated Whately for many years but recently I've found him to be losing his sense of discretion and seems to be adopting the sensationalist path the other media meatheads have taken. No doubt the SEN gig has not helped. A shame because I used to really enjoy his calls on the ABC.

Myself and the old man are demons and Mum and two sisters are cats supporters. They will be happy for Melbourne if we beat them with my younger sister declaring she is actually at about 70/30 with wanting the cats wo win. Mum can't understand why I dislike Geelong so badly even after I support that with evidence of Dangerfield, Selwood and Ablett all flopping about and drawing high contact for dubious free kicks. Mum actually referred to me as a wnaker the last time I had a crack at Geelong so it was good to know I'm making solid progress.

Training - Thursday, 6th September, 2018

If Fritsch stays back I expect Hannan to play. I watched him closely at the Eagles win and he is a very difficult match-up when he has the space to create multiple options in due to his speed and spring. JKH doesn't offer us that so I can see him making way for Hannan who essentially would've played without any doubt against GWS had his knee been okay. His follow up performance in the VFL of 3 snags and a screamer is enough to warrant a return. -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final
McQueen replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I remember now - it was Mooney saying that the group had made a habit of switching off for the bye and not being able to switch back on. I sort of zoned out a bit because it was just turning into a soul circle jerk between Mooney and himself reliving his supposed footballing brilliance. -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final
McQueen replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can recall that being mentioned on one of the Fox Footy programs last night Chazz. They have altered their schedule in an attempt to avoid the post-bye slump record they have which is 2W / 9L or something like that. -
Annoying though that whenever Hogan is out injured or in a form slump the idiots come out with a trade argument.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final

No doubt if we lose and Viney has little impact then all and sundry will be pointing the finger at that as the main reason. Personally, I'm 100% comfortable with Viney coming back in. He's an animal that'll will himself on every contest and punish the opposition far more than JKH or Spargo can. I reckon his preparation has been flawless this time around and he'll be a significant factor in the clearance battles even with 6 weeks without game time. -
Melbourne Demons - Take Back The City

Cracking effort @The Mighty Demons. Hard to not get emotional over that footage. Friday can't come quick enough. -
Open Mike with Mark Neeld on Fox Footy (4/9)
McQueen replied to Hellaintabadplacetobe's topic in Melbourne Demons
That was the worst Open Mike ever. Neeld couldn’t even describe his role at Essendon but reading between the lines he managed to upset all of the line coaches and game analysts enough that his good mate Woosha couldn’t save him. Just a load of rambling nonsense.- 165 replies

Be very, very happy and keen to keep the lid on it. Except for stubbies of beer. Lids will be flying everywhere off those buggers.

I thought that rule was scrapped?
-
Thanks mate. I thought that through well, huh.

Joel Smith was applying some very good pressure and winning some crucial HTB decisions before he was injured. His pace and leap will come in handy. His inexperience is my only concern...

VFL semi that Casey play not this but next weekend.
-
That's great news for Bernie as it will get him in the VFL semi.

I watched Spargo's interview with the Burgatron yesterday and I think he gave it away that he's already been told he'll remain in the 22. He corrected himself with "if I'm lucky enough to" or similar to make the 22. Am I reading that right?

Open Mike with Mark Neeld on Fox Footy (4/9)
McQueen replied to Hellaintabadplacetobe's topic in Melbourne Demons
On the advertisement for it they showed MFC content only. Think that answers what the main theme will be about. -
I just booked airfares for Grand Final weekend while there was still some available.. Yes, they are flexible.

Open Mike with Mark Neeld on Fox Footy (4/9)
McQueen replied to Hellaintabadplacetobe's topic in Melbourne Demons
If you do actually consider the length of his CV, the time spent at MFC is probably the smallest but the most contentious. How much time Sheahan spends on it will be interesting. -
Who would be your preferred umpires on Friday?
McQueen replied to DeezNuts's topic in Melbourne Demons
I just hope that whoever the umps are, they are this time attuned to the manipulation by certain Geelong players of several rules that are a Geelong staple. Let's also hope that we don't fall into the trap again. I'm also looking forward to Duckwood spending a large portion of time on the bench for the blood rule. -

This will have absolutely no bearing on how the team prepares and plays. Heres a thought... Don’t watch it.- 165 replies

I often wonder how or why these stories even make it to press. It’s just a crap read to be frank.

First time a read of Demonland has made me hungry.

I love it how someone who has such disdain for a thread seems to like coming back for more of it..

Thanks in advance for the intrepid landers that get on down and report back. Particularly keen to know how Viney goes. Cheers ?
