  1. Punt can you send me a sample of whatever you're taking!
  2. Pedo is handy. Not sure about the other two. Hoping Trenners has finally found some pace/agility after getting a full pre season in.
  3. I agree Macca. I doubt he will get many opportunities unless Maxy gets injured (touch wood that doesn't happen). Probably just managing big Maxy's workload coming into the real deal more than an experiment. Big Spencil is handy in these sort of matches and VFL level but fairly immobile to play anywhere but through the middle, which is a luxury most teams cant afford to risk in today's game.
  4. I prefer to keep waiting big red. First match is still a few weeks away and at a ground that we have a woeful record on vs a team that has an amazing record there. Hopefully all that changes after Rnd 1
  5. Thx! ?? wasn't she awesome. She's some athlete
  6. The Bull could end up being as good as any MFC forward in the next 6 years or so if he gets a decent pre season in and enough match fitness/practice in order to get up to speed at senior level. This bloke could end up being our Podsiadly I reckon. Easily the most accurate forward down there at the moment along with Wattsy. In front of a big AFL crowd is another matter I realise but I'd love to see him get the chance this season.
  7. Daisey's a gun and Paxman not far behind. Love watching these two ?? our FF is a gun also (name escapes me)
  8. I'm blaming Lewis...spreading all that unsociable footy rubbish
  9. Jack Watts the bad boy..... Who would've thought!?? Go Jack !!! Will be throwin sum elbows soon ???
  10. Surely you aren't still suffering from the scars of that prelim SWY? Oh wait.... ? ? At least anyone under the age of 35 will have no recollection. Then again how many MFC supporters are there under 35 i wonder? Better stop there. Think I am losing this argument ?
  11. Just catch the 900 smart bus from Chaddy or Caulfield dee-dee ....or even from the other end (Stud Park S.C) if you're game! Hop off at Waverley Park stop. No need to worry about being breathalysed afterwards either! Plenty of friendly passengers you can chat to along the way You could even go on a recruiting drive while you're at it. P.S. Hawk supporters are renowned for their whining!
  12. Sorry Ernest I guess im probably a little battle weary after so many decades in the wilderness. Usually pretty optimistic but when it comes to the MFC I always go back to the old Disraeli saying "I am prepared for the worst, but hope for the best"
  13. Possibly Pro but in the end most clubs and the FD don't treat these matches with a high level of seriousness and what happens on the day is only a very loose indication of how individuals are probably fairing vs the team as a whole IMO. Even the addition or omission of 2 to 3 of the best players can make a huge difference to a result during the season proper when fine tuning and match fitness start to really kick in and/or take its toll on the younger brigade, if a club is putting a relatively inexperienced list on the track.
  14. Didn't we win this same match last year Ernest? I never place any importance on these matches except maybe a fast start to the season proper if your team is showing very solid winning form throughout this series.
  15. Should be on our original home oval at least once a week. Is Waverley Park an option once the Hawks shift? The training facility (inside) is quite run down now apparently but IF a reasonably cost effective fix was viable it might make a decent option and a pretty good social club venue also. Been out there a few times for functions and has a nice friendly feel to it not unlike Whitten Oval or Kardinia Park
  16. Just earn the bloody respect on the field with actions/winning more often than not and stop trash talking FFS. Great teams find any way to win more games than they lose. They don't rely on one particular way or style and they certainly don't go around forecasting prior to having sustained success. I hope this is the last time we hear this BS
  17. No match winner and has limitations but experience counts and Dunny has that in spades and never says die. One of the few players who was able to stand up in the ugly years of Demon horribilis and hold his head up. A dour stay at home defender that can neutralise a sluggish but strong bodied opponent and occasionally drift forward for the odd goal or two with the occasional brain fade (see above). Didnt mind Dunny against the right match up and in a balanced team with quick counter attack runners around him. Certainly a better option than Garland who was unable to do either of these roles/tasks very well under any amount of heat. One of them is still with us so go figure.
  18. Should avoid Casey if possible. Chanel 7 will rarely cover a match out there LIVE due to the terrible facilities. If the women can keep winning I reckon we'll have a bigger say in where they play more often and chanel 7 will also be pushing for them to play at ikon etc.
  19. Nice win. Numbers at the ball and cleaner quicker disposal, quicker across the ground. Clearance work rate slowly improved as the game went on also. The Pies will be lucky to win a match I reckon. Apart from one or 2 players they are horribly top heavy and slow across the ground and apart from that first half, with significant umpiring assistance from No.5, they were terribly scrappy/unco and fumbled too often with ball in hand. Similar to last week but this week managed to put a quarter of footy together early, as well as finding Mo one on one a few times.
