  1. Lewis finally......where has his leadership been till now
  2. Pedders actually winning some ruck contests is helping a tad
  3. Roughy getting a lovely run from the umps! Lots of love there
  4. Especially when the ball is won in congestion from the middle....get in front Hogan under this scenario!!
  5. Our kick to handball ratio is currently 0.73 lol.....our worst for the year. In all matches we have won this year we have averaged approx 1.3 In our losses 1.17 vs the Dockers 1.08 vs the Tiges
  6. JKH and Hannan are babies. JKH has had his 3 weeks now, time for an alternative. Hannan would need to have a pretty solid 2nd half to be considered again next week also. Oscar & Wags are just not able to bring the intensity required for an AFL footballer over 3 to 4 quarters ...yet. Wags another baby and might give him another 2 weeks to get his fitness and composure up and see where he takes it but not sure what this selection has brought to the team so far in this match. As for O-Mac, i've seen enough to give me 3 nervous break downs already. By the time he makes the grade, if ever, i might be pushing up daisies and half the present team will have retired or already or been traded out and we will be looking at a replacement for him in his twilight just as he is coming good! Bugg i would like to see him get a run at it just to see what future, if any, he has from here. I've seen him play some ok football on occasions but other times he looks bog ordinary. Tyson's second quarter was better but off a horrible base in the first. He just doesn't have any weapons to worry the opposition and he would also need to improve big time in this second half. If he is up and down again i would seriously think about giving trenners a run and a look at it. STOP HANDBALLING TOO OFTEN AND WE MIGHT WIN THIS!!!
  7. Play what though CHF? Touchball?
  8. We created our own gap Deever
  9. We should be a mile ahead with the standard Hawthorn have brought this year. Our over use of hand ball allows the opponent to continually close us down and we put ourselves under pressure with the turnovers and bring them into the match. All they have to do is keep their feet, keep a few loose sweeper or two on the outside and wait for us to turn it over with yet another dumb handball and they're off to the races again. We help other ordinary teams win by over using hand ball instead of going forward via kicking and hitting targets more often.
  10. Had to bring Watts as a plus one to try and show the rest of the team how to do it.....finding targets by FOOT up the field! We have finally started kicking a little more!!! There may be life yet!
  11. That's because we have one or two too many at the drop.......easy pickings once they get it out and we have not enough outside options once it escapes the inside ring
  12. Half our average number of handballs for an entire match....in one quarter! Heading for a big loss! IF we dont reverse it....NOW!!!
  13. Too much handball will lose us this game. Jones horrible. Tyson Horrible (too slow to think it through always getting closed down or caught even with seconds to decide/flat footed!). O-Mac not up to it. Clarry & Viney always taking handball as first option for yet another turn over or stoppage when a quick kick forward was easily a better alternative. Frost, Pedders in first 10 mins and Vince T-Mac ok. Why do we continually have 3 to 4 defenders going up when the balls kicked to their hot spot only to see it spill away from the pack to a loose player who kicks an easy goal!!! How long does it take to stop so many players doing this and limit this dumb act.
  14. Depends who he is replacing and the role he is playing Pro. Made a significant difference and impact last week. His comparative around the ground (non-rucking) stats were off the charts for someone playing a large part of game time in the ruck. No doubt he didn't get many to advantage but they were the best comparative stats all year vs anyone who has played the main ruck role for a large part of the game, including Watts, Spencil and Big Maxy.
  15. That is my understanding Vogon. The coaches box has access (as they all do and have had for many years now of course) to Champion data feed and, for the most part, it is a live feed (with some minor delays on select stats) that the FD's stats ppl, in conjunction with coach and line coaches, can review at any point and at the end of quarters to see how the team is going overall and/or individuals across lines etc. My understanding is Champion has 10 people covering each match. 5 at the ground collecting stats and 5 back at base on the video rewinding/reviewing and updating stats that go a little deeper than the basics being taken at the ground such as pressure receives, pressure acts, meters gained etc.
  16. Without checking the archives I don't think so Moon
  17. Team or individual blunder....the principal still stands in good stead Moon. We will beg to differ on that one IF that was the final straw, and IF that saw him play out the rest of his career in the magoos. Only Roos and/or maybe Dunny himself could answer that one honestly.
  18. Can't recall how that part went down. Worth visiting again regardless! What happens when you play as a committed 22! Need to serve it up to this mob again in the return match!
  19. At the moment the Pies have a reasonable defender on their list who is healthy and playing AFL football again (as of last week anyway) Pates. They might both be past their best but so far the Pies are slightly ahead on the Garland v Dunn ledger. We will have to wait and see on both counts.
  20. If we were to crucify every player for one major blunder like that each week Moon then many in the current 22 would most likely be playing much of the year at Casey. And we would probably only be able to field about 8 senior players....
  21. Only if we make finals Mono ? Further Injuries aside I think we will
  22. The kick to handball ratio in our 3 wins so far has averaged 1.36. Against the Cats it was right up there also at 1.28. However, as we all know we kicked ourselves out of a very winnable game that night. Our Kick to Handball ratio in our other 2 losses... vs the Dockers 1.17 and the Tigers 1.08 (pretty much one for one!). This week we saw us kicking 30% more on the previous week vs the Tiges @ 1.34 for the win. So, we have corrected some problems. Namely our clearance issue in the middle by moving Vince up the field into the middle more, the return of Lewis, and the injection of a big bodied fierce competitor in Pedders, freeing Watts up to play a more significant role up forward. The above seems tgo have inadvertently taken a bit of heat of Viney and given him a chop out probably from bigger bodies through experienced blocks etc. We have quickened up and improved our transition and run off HB with the injection of another line breaker in Hibberd. And we corrected our major over use of hand ball on the previous week. IMO we are now back on track for finals IF we can keep the present list healthy and the boys maintain this form and most importantly we DON'T severely regress back, to the over use of handball; I would not change the present line up this week. Even though i feel JKH and ANB are teetering and two of the biggest culprits of hand balling too much. Jones and Clarry also but with Clarry firing out bullets as he does then who's complaining! I would give JKH & ANB this week as another opportunity to improve (and raise their level.. significantly) and lets see what Stretch, Harmes and Kent are doing before considering their return. Let the boys settle a little. If Hogan is a definite then i would probably consider JKH given that he hasn't hit the scoreboard and that would surely be something the FD would have been hoping for by now. The less changes the better for this week IMO.
  23. Ralphius at this rate you will still be watching/posting at 2am.... i hope you have a quality single malt or gentleman jack as company
