Rnd 1, 2021 MCG - Demons vs Dockers Back to the G and our first first round win since St Kilda at Etihad in 2017. Will certainly take that. Clarry back to somewhere near his usual standard after quarter time in his 100th. Statistically on top yet again. Some over use by hand IMHO vs the more effective "burst from congestion then share" style i would like to see but he did max out what few clearances we had (again) with 7. May & Lever the red wall down back and little Charlie bobs up in the top 4! Ed busting another gut on his wing coming in 5th. Nice game from T-Mac who i feared the game may have passed by based on last season but movement and finish seemed to be back somewhat. Much room for improvement, however the first round often sees a number of rusty entrees! Hibb & Viney the likely must ins this week if fit, possibly for Sparrow and Rivers or Hunt, but who knows. I have one word for the entire day so far, aside from about half a dozen or so....lacking intensity / accountability at the bounces/throw ins / and in general...SLOPPY

Wow 20 meters in the clear and Tracc 30 meters in the clear and Sparrow still couldn't get it anywhere near him

Wondering how many possessions ANB & Tracc have had after quarter time?

Max hitting it into Freo's space ...seriously at least find a colour and hit it somewhere near there or grab the pill and take the tackle

All started from Lever and then Kozzy's ability to compete and draw the free

Boy we have some woeful set shot exponents

We dont cover off on the outside ...too many easy loose gives for the opponent around the contest. No one on one intensity outside

Our play around the ball ups / bounces has been bog ordinary. Very few clean possessions / clearances. Max looks a bit unfit or off the pace for mine

Is he keeping Fyfe a little quiet though? We don't need to see much from Hunt as long as he achieves that. Harmes looks much happier and more at home back up forward again. I would not mess with the 'present' winning set up. Unless Fyfe manages to get off the hook

Probably take a few games for most to reach full match fitness with the longer quarters and run off a few excess gym kilos of muscle (for some).

Couldn't agree more. Needs to get first option away quickly once he finds space. Playing as if there's no opponent out there at the moment and lairising a bit too much
