  1. Very much a jet. And yes stick him in the red & blue. Might help get us over the line into a GF...maybe more
  2. Probably a poor example of a mummy SW
  3. Mummy back always makes them walk a little taller also
  4. It might be my death if it costs us a win EO
  5. He also only averages about 65% game time each week. No doubt deliberate for whatever reason. The average for the 23 that have played so far is 81.5%
  6. Melk is a "silk player" on the occasions he is given the ball Deevs. He brings zero accountability/grunt without ball in hand. Tomorrow's forecast indicates it will be about as far away from 'favourable for silky players' as one could get. While i respect the FD / Coaches decisions on these matters i am even more sceptical with this one, knowing what lays ahead condition wise. I expect a tight game. Hope this decision doesn't come back to haunt us. P.S. expectIng the Cats to put one of their best medium rebounders on Melk tomorrow to extract the most out of the lack of accountability / pressure. Stewart?
  7. While i like what the 'stand' rule has brought to the game between the arcs, the AFL really needs to fix it's application to the set shots for goal. There is sometimes strict interpretation and at other times none in terms of stepping off the line of the mark while taking a shot. Some players are getting called immediately taking a step or two as they arc out of their line, while others appear invisible to the umpire and are alowed to arc out and waltz towards the side of the man standing the mark without any adjudication. With the latter (non-governance) gaining an extra 5 meters or more, sometimes the difference between a goal and falling a little short. A fundamental but obvious umpiring flaw that needs to be addressed and quickly. Could be the difference in a tight game.
  8. Great effort to get to a Prelim. One quarter of reasonable footy won't cut it against the best i'm afraid. Apart from Paxmen, Hanks, Mithen, Scott and Zanker (first half or a tad less) the rest looked flat, not.enough clean possessions and took too long to decide / execute with ball in hand. Very disorganised forward of centre and mostly just bombed it in to the hot zone similar to the match against the Pies making it relatively easy for the defence to counter. While she tried hard, Pearce was also neautralised and / or beaten in general by Gould which had a huge impact on the girl's getting first use of the ball as often as they have in recent matches. Cunningham appeared to compete a little better when she was in there. Need to work on ball skills and quick movement / chains in the off season, forward craft and recruit some genuinly skilled ball users and smaller/medium forwards who can finish off the spillage. Nice effort overall for the season but need to recognise that we were also easily beaten and were a mile off it and still a whole match away from a GF. Have built solid foundations but much work and change required ahead to take the next step and complete the build. Ignore the fixes and assume it will just 'happen' we will find ourselves back in the pack again in 2022.
  9. Thanks guys. Excellent work and much appreciated. Photos from Jack et al also
  10. Sounds like a fair few are pretty rusty out there. The smalls getting a bit more of it makes sense on a day like today
  11. Nice work thx HB. Next goal take a break and reward yourself with a nice chocolate big M followed by a frothy or two and your mouth won't feel a thing.
  12. He wouldn't be running unless things were tickety-boo...good signs
  13. Permanently on ice at Willy i'd reckon
  14. No chance of that at tomorrow's match if history is anything to go by
  15. I sincerely hope not TU
  16. Willy ....otherwise known as the Ripley's of the VFL grounds
  17. Love of the game in a purist sense OD. I've headed the same way in last 4 years or so although i was very disillusioned with the entire direction the game was being played also. Felt more open and old style watching VFL for mine.
  18. Living up to your nicname there MAH... well done
  19. Hope the orange boy is awake
  20. Hec i live borderline inner east and it's a long way for me OD. Reminds me of driving to a holiday house retreat down Mornington way it takea that long. The wind not blowing at either ground is a bit unusual but yes, Willy is a very exposed ground for sure so to be expected i guess. I agree re getting closer to the action but last time i was at Casey i spent most of the time watching (chasing...as best an old fart can chase) my hat as it sailed off behind me every 10 min or so. Seriously though, i also prefer the local (VFL) footy as well now. Just seems more real and relatable. And no massive lines to grab a burger, get out of car park etc.
  21. Petrol is quite expensive at the moment Mr Old ?
  22. I'm with you Sue. Need to master the basics first before you're able to fine tune and finess, especially under various windy conditions as well as doing so shooting from different angles and / or directly in front.
  23. Well if he makes the cut into a perfect start team without even having to prove his form in the Mcgoos i would say he is a VERY Goody Essendon mate CBD
