Oh my god I will cry from happiness if this ever eventuates. Come on Melbourne, make it happen. I truely believe that Roos can be the person to finally put this club on the right track mentally and culturally. Maybe he watched Casey and then our win and said "well I'll be damned, lets do it". Or maybe people are delusional and they are betting on what they want.

He had a great game, but that non-contest was diabolical, especially given the state of the game. At the time I almost didn't notice it, but watching back on the replay, I have no idea how it happened. Lose of concentration? did he lose his footing? It didn't help that there was no pressure on the kicks coming in either. Because at the end of the day, the comeback started in the middle where the Dogs got one uncontested clearance after another, and we did not give a yelp. Yes, Gawn being out on his feet didn't help, but our position was god awful and Griffin finally broke loose of Nicholson and it all turned to absolute shite. My biggest wish for next year, apart from getting a gun senior coach, is getting a great midfield coach. Our positioning at the bounce is seriously shambolic. I don't understand how we are constantly caught with numbers on the wrong side of the contest. Bring back Ratten?

The good news is that history shows us that good midfielders take much less time to come on ,and are in fact, easier to find. That we have our spine all but completed with seriously good players, means that our rise can be quite dramatic and quite quick once we are able to find and develop those extra mids we need.

Always always always draft best available players with early picks. We all know what happens when we draft for needs *cough* Molan *cough*.

Watching Craig's post match conferences I get such a positive feeling. He focuses on the good without actually hiding from the negatives. Even watching him address the team, they seem so engaged, which is how I feel watching him speak in the media. He has a very calming and yet demanding demeanour. In contrast, I always felt such negatively and willingness to give up when Neeld spoke. It does not matter what stage of development you are at, the number one thing that needs to be engrained is "winning is the only thing that counts". I'm glad the players were celebrating the win with a measured approached. It shows a different mindset and I'm glad that Craig spoke of the poor last quarter as much as he spoke about the good three quarters. Never take your eye off the win.

Could be precautionary only. Dawes was in a boot after the Collingwood game too. Fingers crossed for him and Bail too who looks to have a nasty knee injury.

For someone who quite literally looks like a baby giraffe, he is remarkably fast and coordinated. His goal kicking too, very very nice. He's played under 10 games. That's some good progress and I hope he keeps his spot for the rest of the year. His ruck work needs improving but around the ground he is already as fruitful as Jamar.

And our backline shat all over their key forwards. Who was Frawley even playing on? We were rooted in the middle from the first bounce. Gawn is nowhere near fit enough to actually play as first ruck and Minson outplayed him in the centre square all night. Couple that with our two decent mids (Jones and Rodan), to the handful of very good players they had rotating through there, and you can see why it was always going to be a battle to win four quarters. That we actually dominated 85% of the game is a huge credit to us and we should be happy with what we produced. We can build from this. Anyone who doesn't think Neeld was ruining this team, is blind. We are a different side and guys like Watts are new players. It gives me hope when before I had none.

Oh Freak, how I've missed your terribly wrong player assessments.

We ran out of legs which is understandable given how young we are and how experienced the Dog's midfield is. Not a good way to finish but my god we dominated for three quarters. Sweet baby Jesus that is a huge effort. We won. Watts was enormous. Enjoy it. GO DEES!!!!

I really love Saturday night footy. Lets hope the experience tonight is a bit better than usual. I have a good feeling we can actually win this.

Davis hopeless??? Very very harsh. I understand why Magner is frustrated but you can't ever drop your head. We don't forgive our senior players when they do it, and we shouldn't reward periphery players when they do it.

I take back my negative comments re Tappy. He's had a very good second half. And for the life of me I don't know why we don't persist with Strauss. He can't kick, so good enough for me right now.

I actually want to cry watching Hogan. Can't remember the last time I was this in love with a player. Bring on 2014, and FFS Melbourne lock him away for 10.

And Magner's body language is questionable. Couch goes hard and has a terrific attitude but he can't kick.

Tappy should be creaming them at this level, and it's disappointing that he isn't. Undeniable talent, just can't get enough of it. Strauss is doing well. I have a lot of time for him and it drives me crazy that Nicholson is picked ahead of him time and time again.

Just a lazy 5 for Hogan with the shittest forward delivery of all time. He's a certainty at Melbourne too with that sort of ability. Some nice work from Barry too. He's definitely not timid.
