  1. Absolutely and especially TMac who's newborn has been unwell for a few weeks. I know that lots of families experience similar time away for work, so these guys aren't exactly alone, but it still is a big sacrifice and puts a lot of pressure on families. Thankfully we aren't in lockdown anymore so for these families getting the support they need becomes that little bit easier while their partners are away. Fingers crossed we come back with 8 points, making the whole thing far more worthwhile! And PS- trust the AFL to screw us and nobody else when it comes to our quarantine facilities in WA.
  2. Do you really think we lost last week because of May and Lever and the Dog's tall forwardline? We lost last week because we couldn't convert in front of goal and they applied a lot of midfield pressure and shut down the Langdon wing, which caused us to overuse the ball. The backline had nothing to do with it, and it doesn't matter how many talls GC or anyone else plays. May, Lever and Petty are and will continue to be the best defensive unit in the competition. It's what happens forward of the centre that has been our biggest problem this season and particularly in the last 6 weeks.
  3. 28 minimum. Given we can’t get anyone else up there, and we could quite easily cop 3-4 injuries in a single game, you’d need the insurance. And you need to have a range of players to cover different parts of the ground. So for example if Jackson needs a rest or Gawn is injured and we have Weideman in the hub then you have flexibility. Smith likewise. You also want good mid rotation options so JJ, AVB and maybe even Chandler so you can have ANB spend more time in the midfield and Chandler can do his role up forward. I would think we take 28 because the last thing we want is to put someone out there who isn’t 100% and risk further injury before finals because we didn’t take enough players. Also need to take into account if someone needs to go home for a family emergency. It has happened already in hubs this year Edit: Jones would be perfect as he can cover lots of roles, but I doubt he will go with his wife heavily pregnant with twins.
  4. For sure Smith will travel as he can cover injuries forward or back. Not sure if Jones or Melksham will go given they have young families and no guarantees of actually getting a game. Would be interesting to see if Weid goes or if they prefer to give him VFL time. Agreed AVB will travel as well.
  5. Assume JJ needs a rest. Because he’s been far better and more consistent this season than some of his teammates.
  6. Well there goes the season. Sorry but what a way to absolutely [censored] us right before finals with top 4 hopes hanging by a thread. Just a complete and utter joke.
  7. Sorry but that’s insanity. Are we trying to win a flag or have we given up? Also if small crowds are allowed by then it’s a complete slap in the face to us paid up members who sink so much money into the club each year. I would be ropeable if this is true!
  8. Well that's better than NT, so whatever.
  9. Bowey for Rivers is not very like for like, as Rivers does play a shut down role. Bowey would be playing a similar role to either Salem or Hunt. So either Salem needs a rest, or they've had enough of Hunt's turnovers?
  10. Guaranteed to kick 12 on Saturday at our game in Wagga Wagga
  11. Biles out of team gymnastics final due to unspecified medical issue. Absolutely gutted.
  12. NT border opening to Vic tonight. Absolute balls. Hope we don’t end up in NT for this game!
  13. Nothing nice ever happens to us
  14. Oh ok well I understood they did have a permit. At least that's what Jerone told me, and I do not question the commander! I still maintain they should be punished, but perhaps the police couldn't pin enough on them? Did they get fined in SA?
  15. I totally get what both of you are saying, and trust me when I say if it was up to me, they'd be in jail. However, if we start punishing people who break every rule severely, there is the very real risk that people who know they've done the wrong thing won't come forward to get tested and won't be fully honest with contact tracers. Those consequences are far more wide reaching than punishing individuals. So while I get how infuriating it is, and while I think anyone who knowingly and unlawfully puts the lives of others at risk by breaking clear rules should be put in jail for 14 days (and made to work in a Covid ward without PPE if they protest lockdowns and vaccinations), the government is stuck between a rock and a hard place. They don't want to deter people from telling the truth, even if that truth is ugly. Imagine if the family from Hume didn't disclose their movements. That is an entire chain of mystery cases that could turn into 100s of new infections. I rather they sit in the knowledge that their stupidity and selfishness infected their extended family/relatives, than cause a longer lockdown for the rest of us. We are lucky to live in a country where compliance is generally very high. There will always be absolute [censored] heads who ruin it for everyone else. But overall I think most people do their best to do the right thing in very difficult circumstances (lockdowns are exhausting!) and we need to support and encourage that as much as possible.
  16. A big difference people seem to forget about these removalists, who I despise with every inch of my soul, is that they actually had a work permit to come across. They didn't break the rules coming into the state, and they were not aware that they were sick until they returned home and got tested. The only official rule they broke is not wearing a mask. Does that mean they don't deserve Karma to hit them like a bus? No it doesn't. But this guy broke very clear entry guidelines going into another state. He lied. He will cop a far bigger fine, just as the idiots from Melbourne who flew to Darwin for a wedding copped a fine of around $4k each. Or how the idiots who drove from Melbourne to QLD in the last lockdown did. Permitted workers who bend the rules will always cop a far smaller fine than those who come across without any permits whatsoever and break clear border laws.
  17. Yep and is apparently not cooperating with contact tracers, and had to have police formally interview him in the presence of his lawyer. What a hero... it only takes one or three idiots to send millions into lockdown. People are so selfish, it really is mind boggling.
  18. I dunno, QLD have a mystery case from China who was out in the community for two weeks. They've got another [censored] from NSW who went across illegally. Anything is possible.
  19. If we can't have finals in Victoria, next best option would be SA and borders open. An easy trip for us Victorians that can be planned at short notice if needed. [censored] WA!
  20. The only thing more predicable than NSW asking people to stay home everyday is Chris Scott having a self indulgent sook about something every week. Mate, just like the anti lockdown protestors, your complaints make no sense. Go home.
  21. Surely we can’t be so lucky as to play them at Marvel in dry conditions. My MFCSS says we will play them in Horsham in a lightening storm and BB’s hair will catch on fire.
  22. Ugh 3:10 on Saturday is annoying… unless we are still in lockdown in which case what is even time?
  23. If West Coast are already coming to Victoria to play Pies this week, could we be so blessed as to have our game against them the following week also in Victoria so neither team has to do the whole isolation thing? Can't remember the last time we even played West Coast at the G. I suggest we fly Gold Coast here, then play West Coast the following week. That means no leaving the state at all for the rest of the H&A season.... and somehow we still manage to lose both those games....
  24. Unbelievable swim from Titmus! Just won the 400m freestyle gold for Australia!
  25. Unbelievable performance by the Aussie women. Well done!
