  1. Thanks. This is going straight to my footy chat I have with mates. It’ll rate highly.
  2. Like you needed another reason to consolidate the wildly held opinion that Walker is a moron and a scumbag.
  3. Interesting on Harmes. I know he was a mad Dees fan growing up and he seems to have a lot of good mates at the club. But honestly he is very expandable so clearing the 3 years left on his contract could be a blessing in disguise.
  4. Mark McGowen has to guarantee that I can attend? I assume it gets thrown out the window if borders are shut, which going by the fact it's WA, they will be. I just don't know how the AFL can play the game down there. Their state calls off crowds hours before games. And they are so isolated you make it impossible for the fans of the competing clubs (lets be honest, it ain't West Coast v Freo granny) to attend. SA seems far more reasonable, but as I understand it Optus Stadium has bigger capacity and WA has better facilities for clubs to hub in. The players seem to be having a great time in Perth this week while we freeze in lockdown 6.0 😌
  5. What about the younger generation. Would your kids follow a new team? or would they follow Melbourne still? What about kids of parents who don't have an affiliation to a club already?
  6. Artistic Group Swimming technical is on tonight! If you need cheering up during lockdown, grab some wine, get on a group chat and watch this with friends. You won't find a better hour of joy elsewhere this weekend (since we are playing Monday!).
  7. Artistic group swimming is on at the Olympics tonight. Beats the hell out of watching Geelong beat GWS! Hoping Adelaide can cause an upset in the showdown, but now their [censored] ex- captain is suspended due to being a racist loser, it's going to be tough. Also hoping Essendon can cause an upset over the Dogs. I give St Kilda absolutely no chance to beat Sydney. The rest of the games are boring and irrelevant. Thank god for the Olympics and several hundred streaming services during lockdown.
  8. You are saying that it is Dan Andrews locking down Victoria. When in fact it is not. It is the best health advice, the PROVEN advice, that is locking us down and not for the first time, thanks to the incompetence and blind eye turned by the nuffies of NSW and the likes of Alan Jones who tell the community that this is not a big deal. So they go about their lives, ignoring the health measures, spreading it to the entire state and now almost the whole country! And maybe you should tell the family of the 29 year old who died at home this week that we are hysterical. Or the family of the young woman in her 30s. Or maybe you can tell my friend who is a front line worker who at 35 nearly died from Covid last year while taking care of sick patients who told him they didn't want to wear a mask because Covid isn't even that bad.
  9. Especially if they let us actually go to games once Scotty gets us some Pfizer.
  10. You're right. Lets be like NSW and not do a lockdown, and then let cases get out of hand, and then do a lockdown that is only half effective, and then do a hard lockdown, and then have 300 cases 6 weeks into lockdown, and then be in lockdown for another 4 months. Great strategy.
  11. As has alcoholism and depression amongst young people. My best friend is a GP. She told me yesterday that she felt like crying during all the mental health care consults she was doing with young people. She had no advice to give them anymore, because she felt the same. I've been in survival mode each time we've gone into lockdown. But last night I just broke down. It's all just got too much. The financial, mental and emotional pressure on me and my family and everyone I know, especially my single friends, and those who work on the frontline, is too much! And I am well aware how lucky I am compare to so many people. I can still work from home, and my husband while his business has really suffered, is still classified as an essential worker so is able to work. We are getting by, but so many people aren't. We got takeaway last night, and I swear the restaurant owner looked like he was about to have a nervous breakdown. We got way more than we could eat because we just felt so bad. I'll be eating day old Pizza and crying into my wine tonight.
  12. All along I have said that if Covid only targeted stupid low life scumbags, I would be very happy to open up and let natural selection do the work. Just like I wish we could make it law that if you attend a 'freedom' or lockdown rally you are no longer entitled to receive medical care if you catch Covid. You want your freedom? Here is your freedom to die.
  13. I have that many cancelled holidays my Jetstar vouchers are maybe going to be enough to pay for me to fly to Perth and watch us play finals. In 2018 the cost of flights to Perth for our prelim were more expensive than the cost of flights to Singapore.
  14. Lockdown 6.0 and no Demonland is far too much to handle. Thanks @Nasher
  15. Bring back the flu and home break ins! 😂
  16. I think Israel is the best case study for Pfizer. It’s struggling against Delta and now they are doing booster shots for over 60s. It looks like Pfizer wears off quicker than AZ. Both are still quite effective in stopping you from getting very sick and dying and that is the main point. We need vaccines so people don’t die or get hospitalized with Covid. People can get mild symptoms and we all move on with our lives because it becomes another type of cold and flu. It’s the fact that so many people get so ill that’s the issue. The only benefit of being so far behind our vaccination program here is we are learning what works and what doesn’t from everyone else. There are now studies into mixed vaccinations and booster shots. I’m sure once we all get two jabs we will need to get a third one next year. Maybe of the same vaccine we’ve already had or maybe of something totally different or new. Novanex studies seem really promising on Delta but they are small studies still.
  17. Games will go ahead with no crowds as planned like they always have.
  18. I feel you. I am meant to go interstate on my now 3 times rescheduled honeymoon in 3 weeks. That holiday is now slipping away faster than Gold Coast last week. If I don't have a holiday soon I will probably lose my mind.
  19. Living in Victoria is literal hell. It’s worse than living with MFCSS. At least that’s predicable.
  20. 12/10 difficulty. 15/10 creep vibes. The ladies who won train 8 hours a day 6 days a week. I mean that is some next level commitment to water gymnastics.
  21. Artistic swimming duos. What an event. Creepy, mesmerizing, confusing… ORC dominating again.
