Every Melbourne supporter should turn up tonight. No excuses. It's the least we can do to honour Neita! So should get around 65,000.
-
I doubt very much that Bond and McKenna are out of the running. SEN talks a lot of s***.
-
Neita wasn't actually on the Footy Show because he is professional enough not to do a TV interview the night before a big match. They still paid tribute to him though.

Welcome to Demonland Ronald, Please use the search function before starting a new topic, as we've had numerous polls on this exact topic already. Cheers.

Excellent news for David Neitz! I think McLean might be a doubtful starter, but overall that is not a bad team.
-
Get a room you two! <_<
-
Ha, Tasmania jokes never get old! :D Had Neita played in that final against Essendon in 2004 we would have won!

It seems that Ratten is going to stay with Carlton, a real shame both for us and the rest of the competition (Carlton will actually win games next year! ). I'd say that Bond is currently the front runner, with McKenna, Riley and Connolly not far behind. I'm not so sure that Sheedy is going to be offered the coaching job, but he might be given a different role within the club (hopefully). From all reports, the announcement will be made after Round 22 in respect to all participants and Mark Riley himself. That doesn't mean that it'll take that long to make the decision. Although, if final presentations haven't been done yet, it might just take another month or so.

Oh yeah, quote my post why don't you? I blame injuries for my zero strike rate! -
I'll get back to ya <_<

A really nice video highlight: http://bigpondvideo.com/afl/40349 Watch out for Robbo taking a dig at Newton about his marking. Gold! :D
-
I'm so sorry to hear that! My condolences go out to the Malthouse family. Losing a loved one is one of the hardest challenges we have to face in life.

That's correct. We've got access to IP addresses, so it's not hard discovering people who post under aliases. We're coming up to probably the busiest time of the year in terms of online traffic. With the impending selection of a new coach, delisting, drafting and of course trade week, it's important everyone remembers to take a deep breath and count to 10 before unleashing their opinions. If everyone behaves, we'll get to enjoy some of our finer posters coming out of hiding during this time, especially during trade week (chilliboy is the highlight!)

Couldn't have said it better myself Finks :D

I'll see if maybe we can attach the link to the Code of Conduct thread. That cracked me up... especially the subtle "you dumbass" comment
-
Indeed. At best, Ferguson can play on Josh Fraser. Ch.10 said that Didak will be back, and they will decide tomorrow if Buckley comes back through Williamstown or straight back into the seniors. I'd hate for that FIGJAM to steal the limelight away from Neita! <_<

I put in the membership barcodes and it's still charging me outragous prices!
-
From what I understand, Connolly has spent a good few weeks working on his presentation, which involves a historical look at Melbourne under Neale Daniher. However, he'll have to really blow them away to get the job IMHO.
-
I was just looking for a ticket and they were charging me $18, and I'm a reserved-seat 17 game member! Hopefully if we get there early enough we'll get good seats.

There are not a lot of words that can do justice to the service David Neitz has given to our football club. Through good times and bad (more bad it seems), Neita has always stood up as the inspirational captain that he is. He has carried our team, leading by example, always dignified, always humble. He is one player we could always rely on, whether it be to kick a winning goal, or deliver a crushing body blow to an opponent. His strength of character and mind have never failed him, even when his body and teammates have. Our club has seen 149 seasons, 12 premierships, countless number of players, but there has only been one David Neitz and there will never be another like him! I hope that all Melbourne supporters turn up in numbers this Friday night, to pay tribute to one of our greatest, and show him the support that he so richly deserves. If he never wins a premiership, lets make this an unforgettable night for our champion. Congratulations on 300 magnificent games!

This thread has turned to [censored], and so I'm locking it. To all the new posters who have recently joined Demonland: I strongly suggest you back out of this thread, scroll to the top of the board and read our Code of Conduct. Thank you and we'll see you all again on yet another Adem Yze thread to be created in the near future

Where's Darren Glass? We're getting robbed here! I don't know how a thread titled 'it's time to look forward', turned into an argument about which over the hill depth player is more worthy of keeping FFS, have we really reached rock bottom? Who here would choose Ward or Brown or Ferguson or Bizzell or Pickett over another Clint Bartram or Michael Newton? That's right, these two were late picks (Bartram at 60!), and they are the sort of players we could miss out on if we hold onto players who have little left to offer us. It's time to let go!
-
Why not Garland? I know we desperately want to win this match, but we still shouldn't lose sight of the bigger picture. Garland was named in the bests for Sandy, Bizzell wasn't. And I know Brown won't get dropped, I'm just hoping. His low kicks send me into a fit of rage. Just kick the ball a bit higher Browny, PLEASE!!! We also need to look at how Collingwood will line-up. I'm worried about Cloke. Do we play Carroll on him? Dutchy on Rocca and Bell to give Didak a spanking again. I think Miller might be back this week, especially if Frawley doesn't come up.
-
Brown and Ward are gone. One of Bizzell or Holland will get a one year contract, and I hope it's Dutchy as he's more versatile. Yze will stay, not a chance in hell he's letting go of that one year he's got left. That means Byron is gone, unless Sheedy is somehow involved with the club. Those under 30 who are gone: one of Ferguson or Warnock, Neville, and possibly one of Miller/CJ/Jamar (traded, not delisted). Bode will be officially elevated, and Neaves should be too. That leaves us with at least 6 players gone, plus at least one rookie elevation, plus hopefully one trade. All in all, if we can get 5 or 6 picks in the draft this year, that would be a good result.
-
Thought Bode played well last night given it was his first match. His tackling is great. In: McLean, Buckley Out: Frawley (inj.), Brown (was good in patches last night, but his kicking is killing me!).
