Despite all the love being shown to Buckley in this thread, are we at all interested in getting Buckley to the club in a development/assistant role?

I doubt that trading Miller for a third round pick in an ordinary draft is going to be the difference between success or failure. If Bailey thinks he can get more out of Miller, than we should give him a chance to teach him new tricks.

Rumours on SEN that we are trading pick 4 for Fevola, and that pick 3 +4 will be traded to WC for Judd. Lets hope that like most rumours on SEN, it turns out to be [censored]!

I agree, and I think that the reason we are chasing Meesen and re-signing Jamar, is because Bailey recognises that PJ is no ruckman. We seem to favour rookie- listing promising ruckman. I have no problem with doing that again this year, and maybe Stefan Martin is the one.

Funny story*. A long time ago, in fact, when Miller first started at the club, my friend and I ran into him while out and about. My friend said to him "if football doesn't work out, you can always try modelling". I thought it was a fair comment. :D Actually, his partner is a model so he'll have plenty of industry contacts *you had to be there

I think you'll find that unlike many of our young players, Miller has a baby that I'm sure he is enjoying spending time with. Fitness has never been Miller's issue, besides the notion that players don't deserve time off is just crazy. Win or lose, they still work hard all season and they deserve some downtime like we all do. IMO there is a risk of burn-out if you push them too hard too soon.

No ties. If you read the article on the website, it mentions nothing of Bailey ever coaching Miller at Mt. Gravat.

I've just deleted most of the posts in this thread. Please don't mention names, nicknames, or give away anymore cryptic clues. This stuff can seriously damage the website and get the owners into huge trouble. I repeat, DO NOT make any mention or give away any obvious clues about who this player may be.

Bailey > You If Bailey wants him to stay, I trust Bailey. White has one, maybe two years left. If we're going to throw away all the ruckmen we have in hope of picking up another Jeff White between now and when White hangs up the boots, we'll be left with no ruckmen at all. With Neaves gone, we are now left with 2 back-ups plus Meesen who may or may not turn out to be capable in the ruck. I also have a feeling that Bailey may turn PJ into more of a KPP than a ruckman. At the end of the day, these players are not on huge money. We are not losing a whole lot by keeping them given that they are still young.

I think we are all forgetting the state of our KPPs. Who have we got left for some depth? Ferguson is gone from all reports, Neita has a year, so does Dutchy if he gets one... Even if Miller is only a depth player, it is better than having no insurance policy with our talls. Of course, for a good deal, he'll be traded. Would be great if we could swap him and TJ for pick 11, but there is no way that's going to happen. Also, the reason there is no interest in TJ is because we are probably asking for a first round pick, or something similar. If we said we'll trade him for any price, 15 clubs will come knocking.

There are reports that Mitch Morton is being traded to the Tigers. In order to lure him there, Richmond may have to pick up Cale in the draft. IF that's true, it would be an absolute miracle for us to grab Cotchin at #4. Keep in mind that we are dealing with Richmond here, they are not the greatest recruiting team on earth. Would be a good reward for our rubbish season and the whole Judd saga, but it's highly unlikely.

Would be hypocritical if we delisted Carroll and not the other 2 players. Everyone makes mistakes. Given that this was his first indiscretion (as far as I know), it seem unlikely he'll be so severely punished.
