How long does it take to build some sort of tank? I know our FD has been poor in the past but even they would have known you need endurance. I don't expect Gys to have top of the line fitness at this stage but i'd expect enough to get you a gig in the AFL.

That's exactly why I get so frustrated with Ricky. You know there is talent there but we just haven't seen it this year. Agree about the forwards. No doubt Tom Leaving hurt us not so much because we lost him but in terms of this year we haven't gained anything on the field for loosing him. Same here. On nine news we were at the second longest odds to secure cloke. I think we were paying $7. I can't see how we our outsiders considering Richmond has good players and are paying them accordingly and Carlton should be maxed out unless they don't want to follow the salary cap rules again. You would think it's Freo or us as the front runners.

With O'mera coming into the GC squad next year you would think they don't need Viney as much as key position players in the draft . They might go for Hogan as a under 17.

Thought I would go to Nick's page for some light reading on Cloke's contract here is what I read. I posted this in another thread but I decided it needs a thread of its own.. Cloke is gone and won't be staying on in 2013.. I asked my source if i could post it and he ddnt mind, as it's not his brothers player... My source is paul Connors brother who works with me.. He told me the pies offered him 750 to 800k per year over 4 years..they increased the deal to 900k but it was heavily based on performance.. Pies basically said take it or leave, as they had other players to sign up and wanted clokes form to increase ASAP. Clokes rejected it and pies have conceded he is gone.. How u would say Paul connors knows this, well he just signed up Reid and was told that they have the money Reid wants now.. And that they will be hunting for players I am happy Cloke is gone to be honest, as long as we use the picks well... Expect Cloke to continue to play like crap til seasons end me thinks. Once again guys take it as u will..time will tell that I am correct.. Blues Melbourne fighting for his services now

He is the type of player we need. Young and a proven talent who is on the improve. Suns won't let him go cheaply if we can entice the suns with some picks and some players we might go ok. It's trading our players that is the problem though. Who would want them? Maybe we could tell Gold Coast and any other team that the players we want to trade are really good but it's Neeld's fault they haven't produced this year or any other.

Surely Cloke isn't staying at the pies now. Where he ends up who knows? If the bombers and Carlton miss the 8 and the Pies lose the flag and Cloke at least there will be some positives from this season.

I'm not having a crack at people bloody hell stop being so sensitive. I was just pointing what I believe were over hyped wins last year against crap teams. We both agree players need to be gone and that will happen but who said that the players coming in would be kids? Mature aged bodies with young talent from the draft plus a better FD will enable improvement and will give Neeld a chance to show if he can coach. If all these things happen and we still suck then I will be looking at Coach's to replace Neeld in two years like i'm sure plenty will be doing on here.

I get that you are frustrated and so am I but I would like to think that Neeld will be making his canvas blank at the end of the year with a mighty big axe. If I could pull the pin on our year and we don't play any more games in 2012 I would so Neeld can start his clean out. Give him a chance to build his team and coach that team. I think it can be done quickly and I expect improvements next year and if not then Neeld will be under pressure.
