The wooden spoon could seriously be ours
cowboy_from_hell replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am going to the G expecting a win. We will beat GWS as well and Port are coming back. NO SOUP SPOON FOR YOU! -
At least after the game the kids get to have a kick on the G. I wonder if our players will join in for some tips from my 6 year old daughter?

Jack Grimes Needs to become Lenny Hayes of Melbourne
cowboy_from_hell replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
I love Grimes but it's easier said then done to become Lenny. While we are at it can we make Morton into Rioli, Cook into Darling, Gawn into Cox and so on and so on. -
On the Couch - Brock talks about 'tanking'
cowboy_from_hell replied to jumbo returns's topic in Melbourne Demons
To me it looks as if vlad and co are coming out strong but are preparing to do nothing. They can't be perceived to not care about tanking but there isn't much they can do in trying to prove it has been done its a bit like the tough guys I see at crown on occasion they look big and scary but can't throw a punch to save themselves -
It wouldn't bother me paying a high price for this kid. There would be no waiting for him to develop a body to play AFL footy. He is ready made.

You could help with another re build.

Yep. There is plenty of work to be done by the AFL. But as long as the dollars are flowing I don't think they care. It should be an 18 round competition to save injuries as much as they can and it would put an end to miserable seasons such as ours and the bulldogs but that would be mean less cash flow so it's not going to happen.

Lets go shopping at the end of the year...
cowboy_from_hell replied to Philthy's topic in Melbourne Demons
It wouldn't financially cripple us. It fits into a salary cap we can afford at 100 percent. The contract would be heavily front ended so when he is 30 he would be on bugger all. Even though he is struggling a bit this year he is still has the most contested marks in the league. Mitch Clarke didn't come to us on the cheap either he just looks cheap compared to cloke's contract offer. Either way it's no reason to not be a member in my opinion but that's your decision. -
On the Couch - Brock talks about 'tanking'
cowboy_from_hell replied to jumbo returns's topic in Melbourne Demons
If a ex player thinks we tanked and it is a media storm. What happens when a coach says the same thing? Nothing. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2008-03-13/carlton-tanked-liberatore/1071980 (Apoligies if this has already been posted) -
More likely we will be 50 when we see a flag. By that time I will be a very cheap shout but i will still have a crack. I'll shout you a cold one on that day mate.

What point was On the Couch trying to make?
cowboy_from_hell replied to The Third Eye's topic in Melbourne Demons
One problem is that in footy we all know winning hides a lot of issues. Maybe we should try that out next year. I would love to have Nathan Jones get on the couch and give all those agenda drivers an absolute spray. Release the hounds! -
What point was On the Couch trying to make?
cowboy_from_hell replied to The Third Eye's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Sheehan gave a toss about the MFC at all he would shut his gob. I couldn't believe that straight up with Brock the questions were about Melbourne. You would think with all that Carltank have gone through there would be a lot to ask him. -
Stages of Grief - where are you?
cowboy_from_hell replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
After round 1 I was so gutted. I was that filthy more with myself because I bought in on all the optimism that a great off season had brought us. After leaving the G that day I couldn't have been more [censored] and I knew we were still crap. But I've gone back to my no expectations equals no disappointments theory. -
Someone please push the abort button on this year. Our memberships should have come with a seat that you can eject out of and parachute straight to a pub.I'm looking forward to blease, evans and nicho next year. All with speed to burn. Then I can't wait for a flag. Good god I want one now.I'm 28, I'm in my drinking prime and want to win the flag whilst I still have my drinking stamina. I WANT MY WEEK LONG BENDER MFC! Make it happen.

Lets go shopping at the end of the year...
cowboy_from_hell replied to Philthy's topic in Melbourne Demons
C'mon really? So when we gave a legend of our club in Junior the ass you would keep your membership but if we were to bring someone in you would hand your membership in? If we the members were all going to hand our memberships in after a bad list management decision there would be no members. By the way I want Cloke but I don't think he is worth all that coin in saying that if that's what it takes so be it. Either way I'll sign up again next year. -
Schwab and McLardy ... Time To Stand Up.
cowboy_from_hell replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree with most of what you say but about the statement from Mclardy I think he is just playing ball with the AFL. TO stir up emotion you usually have to stir up some [censored]. I don't know what he was supposed to say "Suck on it we didn't do anything and even if we did prove it [censored]!" Whilst I would love something like that I think Mclardy and co are protecting the club from more scrutiny. -
Sshhhhhhhh! Don't say that out loud or tell Brock Mclean.

POLL: Do you want Mark Neeld to remain coach in 2013?
cowboy_from_hell replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Since you are basing your argument on what if's I'll join. What if we had Malthouse instead of Neeld? If we had the same amount of wins under malthouse this year no one would be questioning him because he has runs on the board. Every one would be waiting for the list to be culled at the end of the year. A bad list is a bad list. Simple. -
Surely Gys has to play this week there can't be many left on the list who are fit and ready to go.

Total Faith in the Neeld Way
cowboy_from_hell replied to Bring Back Barassi's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree which is why I previously asked what has the list done to inspire the neeld haters/doubters that Neeld can't coach. -
I wouldn't mind seeing a forward line with Fitzy in it. Him and Green could cause some headache's I think/hope. I don't think FItz is much of a ruckmen but as a mobile tall forward he could be good.

Total Faith in the Neeld Way
cowboy_from_hell replied to Bring Back Barassi's topic in Melbourne Demons
At least you have a open mind about Neeld. I have faith in Neeld because of the FD he is establishing, his views that elite fitness is an absolute must, defense is something he is drilling into the team, his stance that you must earn a spot in the team and I will like his big bloody axe being wielded at the end of the year. Now can I ask the Neeld haters what has the playing list done to inspire your view that Mark Neeld is a spud? -
May be run of the mill in Hawthorn but it isn't for Melbourne maybe that's why his skills stand out so much.
-
To me Watts has thrived. He is getting his hands on the footy and is showing his footy smarts and absolute pin point passes. I have loved watching him play down back. Wasn't Cameron Ling drafted as a forward? I don't care where they have come from I care about what they do now.
