I have No doubt he was a scapegoat for a poorly run and under financed FD and we are paying for it big time. But remember it's all Neeld's fault.
-
I know it sucks but I was guilty of over rating our list and thinking Bailey had lost the plot but this year just confirms that the reason we are not winning games is because we are just plain bad. I have a truck and will transport the axe grinder to Neeld's office if the MFC need me to.
-
My line of thinking too. Let's throw a Hail Mary. In: Fitzy as a mobile tall forward,Watts,Sellar as a backmen,Mckenzie,Cook (Just for something to make it interesting) Out: Howe and take you pick from anyone else.

It's a great quote from Denis Pagan. You obviously like it so much you use it any chance you get even when it doesn't make sense in the context of a conversation. Our wins were over rated last year. That is a fact when you look at who we won against and how bad those opponents were last year. If a team this year plays Melbourne,GWS and GC twice that's six wins without breaking a sweat! I haven't made a judgement on Neeld as a coach yet as this is not his team. Once he has sifted out the crud and he gets the players he wants then I will judge him.

Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?

They're way too busy with the Will Minson contract saga. -
Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?

Your right he is not that good but he is good. Good god we need some good players. -
I have heard the new skoda car has a scully integrated fuel tank. What happens is you will be driving along and you check your fuel gauge and it starts to speak to you by saying I know there is interest in my fuel level but I want to be a one tank car and my fuel gauge will sort its self out. And then BAM! Before you know it you are out of fuel.

Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?

I change my mind on this every week. This week I say get him. Seriously are we gonna save the money for when Bail,Bartram,Morton,Bennell and others have their names read out at the All Australian Night? It would be front ended so when he is 30 odd he would be on far less. -
Never said it was better but I wasn't expecting much from the list of players we have anyway.
-
He plays for Port who are also duds and we have proven to be pretty good salesmen in the form of getting Mitch. Also we are in the best position to deal with Port. It might come down either us or Port as Geelong and North can't beat our picks.

There is a bit of angst on here and from people I talk to about Neeld and his staff when comparing us from last year to this year. I think it needs to be a reference for people who want to compare. I only make this thread as it's quicker to do this then reply to everyone who repeats the rhetoric spoken by insipid "Journalists" like Greg Denhim who were bagging us last year and then this year they suddenly praise our 2011 season compared to this one. C'mon we have all heard the line "But we won 8 games last year and we could of made the 8" It is vomit! Do you forget? So before you say it is all Neeld's fault and sack him lets look back. Round 1: Drew with Sydney who screwed up the sub rule by having I believe it was Seaby as their sub. Pretty sure they were the first and last team to go with a ruckmen as a sub. Round 2: Smashed by Hawthorn. Round 3: Just beat a pitiful Brisbane who had taken the chance on older players and it backfired plus fevola issues. Round 4: We smashed Gold Coast. That will go down in history as a great win.Pfffft. Round 6:Smashed by West Coast. Round 7:We smash Adelaide who were not playing for their coach at all and eventually quit. Round 8-10: Lose to North,St.Kilda and Carlton. Round 11: We beat Essendon as they our are [censored]. Round 12: We get smashed by the pies. Round 13: We smash a injury ravaged Freo who by the end of the year nearly had to apply to the AFL for extra players on their list just to field a side. Round 14: We beat the tigers who were our equal which was probably our best win. Round 15-17: Lose to the dogs and then beat Port who were being compared to Fitzroy at the time. Round 18-24: This got us one win and 6 losses including 186. We finish 13th above Adelaide who sacked their coach,Brisbane who tried to steal a flag with mature players,Port who were woeful and A first year club. If you think it's all Neeld's fault take a good hard look at what he inherited.

Congrats to brad! I know it's common knowledge but I thought I'd point out it is definitely Jack Watts fault he won't get to 300.

Now it's time for the serious question
cowboy_from_hell replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
We all know how hard it is to support the players every week but imagine trying to coach them every week? Especially when Neeld would more then likely know who he never wants to coach again. -

You have to give Neeld respect for that. The bloke has balls. I'm pretty sure if we could pull the pin on this year we all would including Neeld. Neeld's reign starts at the end of the year for me. This is not his team right now.He is coaching the crap that he inherited not created. -
Modern rivalry building with the Tigers another casualty?
cowboy_from_hell replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nah mate I really liked the comparison with the tigers over the last couple of years. I have a few tiger supporters as mates and they always looked forward to us vs them. Now those tigers always talk to me about melbourne with confusion as to what the hell has happened and I can't really give them a answer. -
we need plenty in this draft. It is a lot easier to trade for a key forward/back or develop one when you have a kick ass midfield. We could cause some headaches for opposition coaches if Jones and JT had some good players around them. Get the Mids worry about the rest later.
-
The last thing we need is JT leaving us for Port Adelaide.
-
If Neeld wants to have a look to see what he can develop with a improved FD then no problem. No doubt he has inherited a lot of crap (Thanks BP).
-
I agree decisions need to be made but bringing underdone players in straight away to decide their fate shows how cut throat this industry is. The problem for us is WE SUCK! How good did Green look last week in the first half due to Clearances and quality forward 50 entries? Anyone who comes in from now on will have to be a game changing player in a dud side.

Please don't mention wona I still miss him. Damn it now I have to you tube Melb vs Freo 2008 again!

The list - who goes at the end of the year?
cowboy_from_hell replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have faith but I had faith in Bailey and his team to. I would hate to see Gysberts turn in our version of Kennedy at Sydney. The swans would probably take him and turn him into a star and then Demonland would explode. -

cowboy_from_hell replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
How many big bodied good players are available that don't require giving up first round picks? You would have to trade for someone on potential only like Sydney did for Mumford. He was good at Geelong but improved in Sydney. So it looks like we are gonna see more Sellar type players. Sellar is ok but a paul salmon he is not. God don't trade for Dawes Mr.Neeld! -

cowboy_from_hell replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wouldn't be happy if Fitzy,Cook and Gys were not demons next year. Why get rid of some potential good players for more potential players especially tall kids? I think Fitzy as a mobile tall and 2nd ruck could work out for us. Cook is untried and Gys has been injured. We have seen what Bate,Dunn and bail can do at full potential but not Fitz, cook and Gys. -
I wonder if the cones will be named in the team since this is a interstate training/try out to see if you have a career in 2013.

Prefer Motlop dunno if Christianson is out of contract at the end of the year but it's not the worst option.
