Cook was recovering still from his late-season injury IIRC. They've been putting guys who are underdone and not capable of keeping up with the main group in there though.

Fellas, I've been made the mod of a soccer forum. However, this one is just as true to me so I don't want to violate any rules on here before I do this. Would you have any issue with me putting a small link to the forum in my signature? If it's an issue, that's totally okay, and I won't do so.

Some of you may have heard this already. Terribly sad. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-11-20/stars-mourn-socceroos-keeper27s-son/3682676?section=sport

So surely they're in the process of hiring a couple of new docs?

Not uncommon in retail to be honest. There's a fairly conservative school of thought out there that says that stubble equals uncleanliness and it reflects poorly on the store. Depends from place to place, but there is only one guy who I work with who has one, and he has had it for 5+ years AND has to do that tie thing on it as it's normally fairly long, all because work says so. If you can grow a beard without heading to work in the stubble stage then there's no issue...but in between is a no go.

• Dan Nicholson the most impressive so far according to DM. • The players are buying in big time; impressed with the work ethic. • A lot of players are realising their fitness level isn't good enough and are pushing themselves. • Discusses drafted players and how they come into the training group. • Mitch Clark may be a week away from the main group, the other rehab guys doing well. • Kelvin Lawrence and Col Sylvia are still struggling with running. • LJ came back a bit short, so they put him with the rehab group initially before throwing him off the deep end (so no he's not injured thank goodness).

One other one - what about Grimes? More because of the fitness stuff...although I can't remember for the life of me what other injuries he had before he did his foot.

Retail. Appropriate standard of dress is clean-shaven, and they were very touch-and-go about it. Wasn't willing to [censored] them off as it's bad enough this time of year. Bloody Christmas.

Can't for work....can't next year either as I'm going overseas halfway.

Teens' exodus a Giant worry for Greater Western Sydney
Striker475 replied to Jonesy!!!'s topic in Melbourne Demons
What's the deal with them now? Can they nominate for the draft next year? Is it possible for them to return? Tunbridge is meant to be pretty highly rated if I remember right. -
What was the first VFL/AFL Melbourne game you attended?
Striker475 replied to Wilson7's topic in Melbourne Demons
First I remember was Rd15, 1999, Melbourne vs Sydney at the 'G. We got thumped. -
Might try and get in next Monday, see if I can get some sigs for the jumper.

Phil Scully offered GWS gig in November 2010!
Striker475 replied to bing181's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure, but people are making comparisons to us with Jeff White over on BF, and the granting of a top draft pick to make up for the blatant cheating as Freo received. Doubt it'd happen though. AFL way, way too compromised. Need an independent panel to investigate this, but who the hell is independent right now? -

Just listened to that - was Ox sneakily implying at the end that he knew what Warner is sitting on for tomorrow's Hun? -

Sheedy 2009? Good on the journos, don't spout the naff naff Giants line, you know what they're like. -

What a lying [censored]. Sorry Tom, figured I could look at a guy my own age in that position and think that you'd agonise over making the choice, but no, your choice was made over a year ago without even a whimper, then you had the gall to lie to me and every single other Melbourne supporter about it. You jackass. Need to make sign regarding Phil and consumption of meat pies for GWS game... -
Redleg, I'd take those odds if you moved them out to around 250mil/1...

More forward pressure, more skills and high percentage kicking and less of the high-risk high-reward half back rebound stuff I'd say.

This is a really, really interesting point. Kev was appointed 9th November...draft wasn't until 26th. There was already a GWS board in place - not sure about whether SOS was up there yet. Sheedy could have, as part of his appointment, said 'lets chase the #1 draft pick from this year" immediately, outlining draftee contracts that would come into the GWS acquisition window etc. He could have met with Tom in those two weeks (or even before he was officially GWS coach), said to him 'we'll give you $6mil in 2 years time, just put up with Melbourne til then' and he'd be on his way. Interesting point as a part of this was that JT and T$ were both offered 3 year contracts rather than the usual 2 upon their drafting. Trengove immediately accepted while Scully declined and signed the normal draftee contract. I hate to call that conspiracy angle...but it does have some genuine merit in hindsight. It would mean that he hadn't signed anything in 2010 with GWS - which he hadn't, and which was what the journos were questioning - but rather had signed it way back in 2009.

Maybe not necessarily because of the fitness, but Tom McDonald might start to usurp Rivers...
