I've seen worse games out of him than that. That moment on the HFF was terrible, but his movement to get there was good, and his decision in that situation was not the worst error we made all day. I'm prepared to run with it. He needs to learn to actually tackle still, but....better.

The next generation of younger Dees supporters

Happened to me at school. I know it's how it is, but Melbourne or bust unfortunately. My sister tried to switch to Carlton which just made me even more passionate. I wonder why I put myself through it... -
Just as an addendum, my father said to me on the train home that when Melbourne win a flag, he's going to buy a case of Penfold's Grange and we'll drink it until we're sick of it. Said I'm holding him to it, he replied he doesn't think he'll be alive to see it happen...he's 53.

We're not playing that badly - hear me out

I know right? I've got to have faith in Neeld...it's all that's keeping me going right now. -
He was good, is good and is getting better.

I wish I had the cash to go to the snow this year, instead it's another bleak Demon winter for me.....

I'd take Whitfield over Viney, absolutely. Will GW$ take the risk if we finish that low? I doubt it. The problem for me comes in if GW$ were to do a similar trade with the GC as 2011 for the #1 compo, thus ending up with picks 1 and 2. That then becomes problematic as they could still take Whitfield and bid for Viney with pick 2...

Should make him captain. FCS he's the only one seeming to do that. -

I'm of the belief that we're getting smashed in a couple of particular areas. In particular, countering the run-and-carry and generally our speed against the opposition ball carriers. We're winning the contested ball, we're mostly hitting targets, we're converting our chances. -
Okay, let me qualify this. Our disposal, although at times having errors (including the handball into traffic problem, something we've done for a decade now) is not that bad. Our conversion - I50s to goals - is actually extremely good. The team, when they have the pill, is doing the right things. The problem is when we don't. Those that are willing to chase are too slow, and those that aren't are made to look useless. We fail to actually deliver a shepherd and thus protect a ball carrier. We cannot break down a spread-out run-and-carry - the same system that served us so well when we've demolished teams is now annihilating us. I genuinely can't look at today and say that any particular player was godawful. I can say a few were poor, some were quiet, but none had an absolute howler. Instead, it seems that the entire thing is based around our failure to operate once again without the footy in hand.
-
I honestly don't know. We've genuinely done it for a decade. We'll just about have a clearance then handball it straight back to a player surrounded by 4 opposition players and I just don't know why.

I'm [censored] beginning to wonder. Seriously.

What we need in my opinion. - Davey to retire. I'm sorry Aaron. You do the things you used to. Ever since you did your leg though, you've lost a yard and a half and just get caught. The things you used to do just don't work for you anymore and that's it. - Neeld to be sitting with a list and a big black texta, slowly but steadily crossing off names. - Midfield awareness. It's getting better, but our mids still continue to handball into traffic. Genuinely, I think the forward line and the midfield are close to set. We need a small forward, but apart from that it's okay. The midfield though...I think the only two whose places I would guarantee right now (from today) are Jones and Trengove - and the latter is because he's only 20.
-
The game plan is there. Around the boundaries, force the contest. The problem is the midfield. We can't catch a player, we let them spread and carry without a tackle to be seen, the zone is there but just breaks down against the run and handball
-
Aaron Davey needs to retire. He tries to do the things he used to, but he has lost the pace and just can't outrun ANYONE. Just can't get away.
-
Actually if anyone wants a mid with a decent tackle count, I'll trade Matt Thomas for a defender or forward.

What is the best result of a Carlton-Collingwood game? A stadium collapse.

I'd fail at life if I did skip it. It's on the itinerary.

Having looked, how about a back for Fraser if you're interested?

Flights into LA and out of New York, accom for 4 days in LA, Contiki New Years in New York and flights to get there, travel insurance and Disney World tickets for two people. Happy with my bang for my buck actually. Wonder if Webjet would give me a discount for being a MFC member...

Pity I've just booked $10,000 worth of holiday through Flight Centre...

Fraser up for a trade, need a forward in return, he's been named this week

Just got an automated call from Robbo trying to get everyone along. Doesn't he know I watched the rout in Rnd1 at the G?

The more I think about it, the more I reckon we can win this. Just have to make sure we actually utilise our clearances effectively and don't get killed on the rebound by Martin and Deledio.
