  1. The problem with what you state is that the AFL has said that if the club who the player is F/S for decides the other team has bid too highly, they can force them to use that pick by not nominating. Thus GWS have pick 1, nominate Viney. Melbourne go OK, take him. GWS are then forced to use pick 1 on Viney. If the Dees then had pick two, they would literally have pick 1 in the draft, as GWS would not be able to choose a player.
  2. It's been blown out a bit with the Mifsud stuff though. His reported media conference following that was in fact a regular presser that everyone showed up at.
  3. I'd be up for calling Sheedy's bluff. It's the week after the Grand Final. Discussion turning to Viney. Someone sticks a mic in front of Neeld. We have pick 3. Neeld says 'if GWS are prepared to give up Whitfield or Vlastuin, I'd happily take them off their hands for pick 3." Watch the media go bananas.
  4. Don't think I'll knock off Stonecutters, Stanton had a shocker =(
  5. Dr Who, I highly recommend the Deezone - won't be much of that there as it's designed to be family friendly and they officially tell the nuff-nuffs to sit down. Admittedly, I get exasperated at our players. I have my whipping boys. But I'll gladly pipe up and congratulate them when they do the right thing. To the bloke who heard the dill abusing Watts though - was that in the Olympic? There was one of those there, and I wanted to tell him to [censored] off because he had a good game.
  6. Collingwood winning on ANZAC Day.
  7. Jones is the best of a group of very similar players. He suffers from a lack of outside feeders who he can distribute to. Doesn't deserve that.
  8. Throw in Bird or Tippett and you have a deal
  9. Mega trade time - Dees forever has offered me: - Scott Pendlebury in exchange for - Brent Stanton - Jack Redden Unfortunately, you're going to have to do better if you want to drag the #1 ranked player in UF off me!
  10. Courtesy MFC Facebook account. Just the picture of Sunday for me. Darkness over the club with a rising gun literally trying to lift us out, while a shining rainbow comes through. It struck us as very appropriate...I bloody nearly cried again.
  11. Dunn is far too one-dimensional. The only thing he can do is that defensive forward role - in terms of actually providing threat, he just doesn't do it. Plus he looks like a goddamn porn star.
  12. Just to go against this, the Dogs actually beat the Aints for I50s, their lack of forward targets smashed them though (as it did today).
  13. Disgraceful was Billy on Triple M today. Kept making the bloody 'Melbourne need to be loud, go number nine, go Dees *clap*' in the first half when we were garbage, then in the 3rd when we got a run on and the roars went up with the shocking umpiring it was like we were nonexistant!
  14. He did some nice things for mine, seriously. In particular the chase down the MCC wing in the last - sure, it was a Dogs goal, but he ran 120m targeting 4 different players to try and stop it. The huge clangers kept him out for mine though.
  15. I thought we did. There were two incorrect disposal ones that led to goals (Cross as you mentioned as well as Dalhaus), there was Dunn ITB, the 2nd and 3rd Dogs goals in the first and the Wallis one in the final term. By me that's 6 - 36pts.
  16. I like the above. OUT: Dunn (please never play again), Joel Mac (see Dunn), Tom Mc (just a spell, you've had your taste, now you need the hunger), Clark (assuming he doesn't pull up) IN: Grimes, Petterd, Nicholson, Fitzpatrick (if no Clark)
  17. Good for mine, but not that good.
  18. Trust me. I get looks either way I sit, but I get told to shut up in the MCC whereas in GA I get quality loud banter replies. Prefer GA all the way.
  19. Update - dropped in today, they're still sorting it out.
  20. I know it's stabbing at the umpires, which is normally awful, but I genuinely think they cost us the game tonight. Sure, 20-odd point margin. But I counted 5 ridiculous frees which lead to Dogs goals, coupled with probably 2 or free unpaid ones (Dalhaus dropping the pill 20m out in the 3rd quarter, obvious to the other side of the ground but not to the 2 umpires standing 20m away?!) really hurt us, to the point where it genuinely did cost us the game. We held our heads up. I was genuinely proud tonight. Another Doggies game, another annihilation by the umpiring.
  21. 6. Riv 5. Bartram 4. Bate 3. Watts 2. Howe 1. Bail
  22. I don't think it really does...let me put it this way. 1 West Coast 60pts 120% 2 Carlton 60pts 110% 3 Melbourne 58pts 90% 4 Essendon 56pts 105% 5 Adelaide 56pts 103% In such a situation the draw benefits Melbourne as without the percentage they would be down in 5th if they'd lost the game. 1 West Coast 60pts 120% 2 Carlton 60pts 110% 3 Melbourne 58pts 135% 4 Essendon 56pts 105% 5 Adelaide 56pts 103% However, in this situation the draw hinders Melbourne, as with the win their superior percentage they'd be in 1st if they'd won the drawn game.
  23. A draw is a 'win' when you have low percentage, and a 'loss' when you have high percentage.
  24. Only ever come close to that once, and that was QBD 2004. Worth it.
  25. The Spencil! Also Nicho in best, Lawrence and Williams both with 3!
