  1. $100/member @ 30,000 members - an extra $3mil in revenue for the club.
  2. Cam Schwab to front the media @ 1.30
  3. I'm hoping the club actually produce some sort of cover for the jumpers already sold for when a new BOJ sponsor is announced. I don't want to give that racist [censored] any more publicity.
  4. I'm prepared to give up on 2012. The club has my membership money. I also bought a Reach jumper which, funnily enough, has the EW on it too. Considering requesting the club produce a cover-over for that on the Reach jumpers. Between everything, I'm just tempted to crawl into a hole and not hear anything about the MFC until March 2013. I really am.
  5. I'm not talking about our actions, it's how the media are lining us up. The reality is, our actions don't matter - the media are just going to keep smashing us. Get ready for it.
  6. Going from a $2mil/year sponsor to nothing. Melbourne being tarnished as racist - a public perception that is bloody hard to shake. Thus being untouchable from a sponsorship perspective. Simply about revenue streams, really.
  7. Replace 'St Kilda schoolgirl' with 'Melbourne racism'. It's literally the same thing, and it's sickening. Worst, it may actually kill our footy club.
  8. I know that. The issue is that we're going to be in a financial [censored] once again. I see no way around it.
  9. Of course, but then we're stuck with NO SPONSORS.
  10. Can we PLEASE OH PLEASE JUST CATCH A BREAK? I'm genuinely worrying this club is going to die with Jim Stynes.
  11. Yeah, depends on the opposition and their forward setup. You'd put Sellar (who is, by Adelaide accounts, garbage in the ruck anyway) on their biggest non-ruck forward. So, for example, in the case of West Coast - Sellar to Lynch - Martin to Naitnui/Cox (whichever is down there) - Jamar on the ball - Clark forward
  12. Lynch isn't a ruck IMO. The prime example is Essendon with Ryder/Hille/Bellchambers, doesn't really work. There is a risk of going too tall with the timber - that said, if you have a super-mobile 198cm forward who can pinch hit as a #2 a la Leighroy Brown it makes for nice depth. I honestly think you need one out-and-out ruck (Jamar, Gawn) and one forward-ruck (Clark). Stef Martin is absolutely a bonus player, there's very few rucks who can play well in defence as well.
  13. My trip to the snow isn't til February, settle down Although it's Saturday afternoon, I'll be at work so I'll be checking from there...expect my face to fall as the shift goes on.
  14. This is just plain wrong. Firstly, to those claiming a rat - how do we know? Some are saying 'senior indigenous player', some are saying 'former indigenous player', some have said 'Aaron Davey' which he has denied. Mifsud clearly cannot be trusted, so to trust him with getting this from a 'source' is barely possible. Even if he did get this from a so-called source, funnily enough, do you know when this came up? Caroline Wilson and Patrick Smith both said they got this from Mifsud (will come back to this) a couple of weeks ago. Same time as Rendell blew up. They both, independently, did their due diligence by calling MN and AD and found that it was a crock, and left it at that. Thomas didn't do such a thing and published. The more this comes out, the more it sounds like Mifsud was just throwing stuff out to big-note himself. Now, as I said, both Wilson and Smith said they got this. Now, how the hell can it be a private conversation that came out if BOTH Caroline Wilson and Patrick Smith, as well as Grant Thomas, know about it?! Not only that, but Mark Stevens mentioned the rumours on Twitter. Clearly multiple journalists as well as footballing personalities know about this - the opposite of Rendell, where only Mifsud and Farhour knew. This whole thing stinks, and it's coming from AFL House, not the MFC.
  15. Did anyone else instinctively cringe and cover something important when they read that?
  16. Mmm...I'm going out Saturday night. I'll check the score at around quarter time. If it's decent and/or somehow we lead I might find a way to watch the game. If not it's no water off my back.
  17. I like the idea of a 'Line in the Sand'. We haven't done anything like that as long as I've been following this team. Seriously. Get out there, get someone to knock out JJK and cop $60,000 in fines. It'd be worth it for a bit of a snarl.
  18. The guy ranked #5 overall is in my BigFooty league. Goddamnit. Had to trade - Goldstein isn't going to get the big numbers sharing with McIntosh. Traded for Cox. Apart from that, I'll improve with time. I think a lot of teams did well depending on their cash cows - few people got lucky on Clay Smith for example.
  19. You sure it wasn't just me you could hear from the Olympic? I was pretty loud.
  20. Probably a combination of learning and a fitness thing.
  21. Could be worse...Magner....
  22. Right. I'm sick of all the end of the world predictions coming out. (Although if the Mayans are right, I'm going to be brutally [censored] off at my father for making me deal with THIS for the short span of my life). There are positives to come out of Saturday. The more cynical of you are probably wondering what the hell could be positive about getting done by 40-odd points by the team that finished 15th on the ladder in 2011. Well then... - Magner. Seriously. He goes like an Evo X. His disposal isn't great by foot (3-4 helicopters) but who cares when he drags it out so often? - Watts. Had a good game. Was quiet in the second half, but who wasn't? - Grimes. Good first half. - Neeld and the list. Remember, this is Neeld's first game as coach. First. Game. He's going to learn from this. He's also going to be working out what went wrong and who is going wrong for the club. The board put faith in Neeld. A select group of individuals too, including a gentleman by the name of Jim Stynes. - On that Neeld is going to pick guys who do what he wants and get rid of those who don't. - Furthermore, the players will learn. Remember the video of Neeld with Pendlebury? I expect every single player will have their individual episode with Brown, with Royal, with Rawlings (or the line coaches) this week. Their own footage cut up. Not just of their play when they got the pill, but when they didn't - the flaws in our zone from the angle kick will be stamped out. - Those that don't adapt will be shipped out. - Those that do will be better players for the MFC. Remember West Coast 2008-2010. Remember Hawthorn before them. It can all change very quickly.
  23. So, Stonecutters and Saigon Saints got somewhat lucky for week one (Stonecutters 3 players in top 10 overall for the AFL; SS had JJK). But can they keep it going? Also, I reckon I can crack Saigon. Will be at better strength this week.
