  1. Agree. Bring back Juice Newton to replace Dawes, couldn't do any worse at this stage.
  2. To me, it was as if we stuck to a wet weather style of footy when for the most part, it wasn't that wet. It was like watching a couple of sides play in a constant deluge when it only spitted occasionally.
  3. How could you punch Toby Greene? He looks like he's about 4 years old. McCarthy looks like he belongs in a Louisiana trailer park.
  4. Jones definitely has class. Is one of the best kicks in the team and despite his chunky appearance regularly dances out of packs. He makes things happen.
  5. I think there are enough reasons already. Probably won't happen though.
  6. I don't like to badmouth our own, but Fitzpleasure would have to be up there. Up there with state cricketer Jordan Silk for the longest neck I've ever seen.
  7. I'd have to say at this point, my concerns are more around hitting up targets and being smart with the ball once we have it. The things you mentioned haven't been as much of a problem for us so far this year.
  8. It's going to be tough to overcome their rejuvenated midfield. Rockliff, Hanley, Beams, Redden and Zorko all had a big impact against Sydney. As a result I reckon we need to drop one or two of the youngsters and bring in mature midfielder. Out: Harmes (would be stiff and I don't think it's in Roos' nature to drop a player after one game), Dawes In: Fitzpleasure, Newton/Michie Fitz to provide good backup to Gawn against some quality ruck opponents.
  9. 'When we beat the Lions'? I thought out of all our games for the rest of the season, Essendon was the one that was beyond doubt a win. So we'll see what happens this week, but it's far from a foregone conclusion in my opinion.
  10. I happen to absolutely agree with you OD, and I've always had the sentiment that Dawes is just not up to it. But when he has the ball, kicking at distance isn't his issue.
  11. Not a fair comment, IMO. When Dawes kicks goals (when), he regularly kicks them from 50 - 55. This is one of his few strong traits.
  12. Should be left to ply his trade in the back line for the rest of the season. But I would be open to him being used up forward more next season if he works on his kicking and Frost and Fitzpleasure are fit and established in the back six.
  13. Forget about Dawes, he adds nothing. Pedersen is much more effective when in the side. This is exactly why we need another mature KPF ASAP to fill the gap and give Jesse a bit of space to breathe and learn.
  14. Harsh on Jones. I'm not a fan of blind faith in a player or coach but Jones has hit quite a few delicious lace out passes to leading forwards. I think he is one of our best midfielders in terms of hitting up targets... but he is guilty of bombing on occasion.
  15. How do you gather that much from a couple of photos? They had a rubbish day at work (their own fault) and they went out for a couple of beers afterward. This is what any normal person would do to blow off steam and enjoy some time with their mates. They aren't bloody super heroes, they're just people.
  16. If Demonland had its way, the players would be chained up in the dungeon and released only upon meal time and for training and games.
  17. In my eyes, balance won't be restored until we hammer them by 100 points or more. Then I'll begin to forget that 148 loss in 2013. I think that one affected me more than 186 because I was there, and it was beyond pathetic. The jibes of the Essendon supporters were hard to stand that night and I can't wait until the roles are reversed.
  18. Forget about Essendon, we have our own issues to sort out.
  19. And he would have won us the game had he kicked straight. What a disgusting way to spend my afternoon. We definitely did not deserve to win, but we should have.
  20. M Jones over 80% and he kicks most of the time, I think. How is effectiveness even defined in this case?
  21. Having a beer in the bar and reading the record whilst waiting for the old man, and came across a mind blowing stat. Spencer's disposal efficiency for the season is 78.4... Wot
