Delistings/trades at end of the season
Little Richard replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Unfortunately Dawes is a bulldozer, but most of the time he just doesn't mark. -
Lol. h_h jinxed it.

Have to say I've been the same about the draft this year, for the first time in a long time. It's refreshing not having to think about who I want us to take at pick one or two! Kolash would be a great get, was hoping we'd draft him.
-
Until we find someone who can play a similar role, I really like Salem off half back. His foot skills are arguably most useful in that area of the ground, where we are sorely lacking. Can't wait to see him back in action tomorrow and it's hard to believe he's only played 22 games.

Whitefriars... another bloody choir boy. We're stuffed.

Darn. How did McDonald pull up from his supposed ankle injury?

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 20

Yay. -
As long as he is only allowed to speak of football matters, I don't think it's too bad. The minute Carey mentions anything outside this realm, I expect Jesse's bodyguard (Jack Viney) to choke slam Carey.

Great way to start a Friday. Can't wait to see Maxxxy continue his good form.
-
I didn't say anything about coincidence or hoodoo as a reason. However, I think it's entirely possible that the players could have some kind of mental block about the ground. Or they just don't like playing indoors. Who knows.

He can be more than a one trick pony, but the issue is that we haven't really seen it this year. For the most part he his impact has been minimal and at times his effort has looked non-existent. We either trade him or keep him and pay him what he deserves after his performance this season, IMO.
-
There are facts for both sides. I think we're definitely a chance, but it's a 'fact' that we haven't won at Etihad for a long, long time. Forget about the hoodoo.
-
With those stats, I'd expect we'd win by quite a bit more than 42 points.
-
Despite their form, I can't help but think we're a chance this week. We tend to match up well against them and it's usually a close(ish) game.
-
Pig Dog's form recently could warrant a recall, but for him that form doesn't translate when he plays seniors. JKH also played well, but needs more consistency at that level before we even think about bringing him in. Has been sorely disappointing this year when fit. Salem to come in for Michie is my bet.

I agree with this. Hopefully it is just a case of adjusting to different team mates and a different style of play, and he'll improve and adapt next season. However, it is possible that Roosy's game plan just doesn't suit him. He thrived on finding space to run and bomb the ball when he was at the Pies and the way we have been playing hasn't allowed that, IMO.
-
I have no problem using these words to describe the performance of the team, because some of our performances in recent history have been as such. To use them to describe a single player's performance... I'd try not to (especially this season, given our improvement), but cannot promise I haven't.

Rating our list - how many A-graders

Where there is Stuie, there's fire. Tough to find a 'clean' thread these days. -
Just on Jack's apparent illness, after reading the VFL player review it seems as if a few of them were sick during the week. Might have been a virus going around.
-
Would think the time to be invested in approaching him would be better spent elsewhere. Great player and would love to have him in the red and blue but couldn't see him leaving the Crows at the moment.
-
There's no doubt that some of his improvement is linked to our improving midfield. The fact that we now have a number of ball winners in Jones, Vince, Brayshaw, Viney and Vandenberg etc to get it out to him makes Jack's job a lot easier. He really is in the perfect role to compliment his admirable attributes at the moment.

Either would be nice and both are light on in terms of key defence. A bag in both matches would be even better!

Delistings/trades at end of the season

Sounds like a Roos-type recruit. I've always liked how he's gone about it and I didn't even realise he wasn't getting a game. Maybe snare him with a second/third rounder. -
Watts was clearly not right on the weekend. That turnover from the kick out was just one of those things... all I could do was laugh. He'll bounce back next week, so long as he's over the illness.
