What they're saying down at Punt Road
Think that was the year before, pretty sure we won that one.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
I assume Daz was referring to the narcissism. Correct me if I'm wrong @dazzledavey36!

A note from Drunkn
Thanks for the update mate, sounds like he's doing very well. Nothing like a bit of country footy!

Inside 50 rate from kick-ins
I expect that we'd be very high in goals from rebound 50's too - most of the time it's not getting past that 50/40 metre mark thanks to Lever and Co.

The Choco Appreciation Thread
At a fraction of the cost I imagine.

10 Reasons Why This is The Best Forward Squad
A slight aside but I was really impressed with Viney's work up forward yesterday. In previous times he's looked a bit lost in attack but when he was rotated forward yesterday he positioned himself really well and applied a ton of pressure, as we'd expect from him. He's adding some dynamism to his game that I was skeptical he'd find.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Four and Oh, soak it up!!! My standout points for the game: Jake Lever is a legend. BOG by far, stood up when May went down and his leadership was absolutely exceptional. Without him there, likely we'd have crumbled and lost. The improvement of lower tier players like Hunt and Neal-Bullen is having a huge impact on how well we are playing. Credit to those guys to finding some great form and credit to Williams (I expect) for his impact in that regard. Great that the umpires are finally penalising the throwing in congestion, good to see. If we hadn't dropped all those marks and kicked for goal terribly we'd have won by about 50 goals, no doubt.

My Round 3 Preview and Prediction
Having an in-form Tom McDonald is such a huge boost for this team. Getting over the Giants at Manuka would be a great win but I think we're a very good chance.

What they're saying down at Cockburn Central
Fritta will stand up and kick 5, mark my words.

Farewell Josh Mahoney
Are you delighted based on just that insight or other issues you've had with the way he operates? Personally I wouldn't say I'm delighted but it's probably the right move. Best of luck to him.

Matt Suckling
5 years too late on Pig.
-
Farewell Mitch Hannan
Disappointed to see Hannan go after such a great start to his career but it's probably a good move for both him and the club. Best of luck Mitch!

Rumour only file ...
So pretty much everyone is off to Essendon then.
-
Josh Thomas
Personally I had no idea he kicked that many goals in a season. Has he had a role change? 38 goals in 2018, 22 in 2019 and 4 this year...
-
Isaac Smith
Glad it turned out this way to be honest. I didn't want him at the Dees, especially on a 3 year deal. Adds nicely to the Cats ageing list!

Nathan Jones Locked in for 2021
Very happy to see this and will be hoping with the entirety of my red and blue heart that he makes it to 300. He still has so much to offer to the club as a mentor and cultural leader.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
Clarry and Trac are only going to steal votes from each other over the next half-dozen years.
-
Burgess and Brayshaw
I think he means when Miller left the Dees coaching staff for GWS in 2016, as his kids are with Pia in Sydney.

Yze is a Demon Again
Great stuff from you too Chook

Yze is a Demon Again
So damn excited to see Ooze back at the MFC. He was my favourite player as a kid and I think this appointment will surpass any player we might get over the trade period for me. He's going to have a huge impact.

Trade Targets
Can't agree A F, Max is untouchable because he's more than just his value as a player (which is obviously immense). He's our most marketable asset IMO and as well as being the captain he's also the spiritual leader and is a real 'father' figure to a lot of the younger guys. His tenacity and attitude to training etc is invaluable.
-
Alex Neal-Bullen
Would be a little sad to see him go as he was one of my favourite players over 2017 and 2018 and was convinced he would become a key part of our forward line/midfield. Unfortunately though we do need to capitalise where players have value and if we can get a player that fills a different kind of role for us, it would be a win.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
What about this? You sounded very confident Dannyz. Any update from your end?
-
Tom McDonald
He was hitting some form at the end of 2019 with 10 goals in the last 3 games, then went down with that meniscus tear. I know virtually nothing about long term impacts and so forth but surely that knee injury has had a long lasting effect on him and is hampering his movement. Does it get better?

Farewell Braydon Preuss
I don't think this is too dissimilar to when Nankervis was traded from Sydney to Richmond. He was a ready made ruck who just wasn't getting the opportunities. He went for a third rounder, so if we ended up with a second rounder for Preuss we'd be doing very well.
